Samsung is on a roll with its Galaxy line of Android smartphones, so let the good times continue to roll… The manufacturer has recently released its latest : the Galaxy S Glide. Boasting a stellar slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a camera that takes great pictures, and a surprisingly robust battery life (almost two days with regular, vigorous use!), this latest addition performs well but has its shortcomings that may be deal breakers for some consumers.  Leaving your valuable mobile devices unprotected is risky!  The latest innovative protection solutions, stylish top brand bags, sleeves and cases allow you to protect your devices from scratches and blemishes with our.  Tough on the outside, sweet on the inside these brand name protection accessories combine complete device coverage with sleek artistic expression.

Samsung Galaxy S Glide... Impressive Indeed! For the techies out there – let’s start this out with the nitty gritty details and specs.

    - 480 x 800 pixel Super AMOLED display
    - 1Ghz Tegra 2 dual-core processor

    - 8MP camera with flash / 1.3MP front-facing camera

    - 1650mAh battery

    The Phone

Because cell phones have become pocket computers and as such are extremely mobile, the feel and weight of our smartphones is important to consider. The Galaxy S Glide is heftier than many others. The hard slide-out QWERT Y keyboard is bound to add some weight to the device. Depending on the user, it could be a « just right » handset, but like any thorough Goldilocks smartphone searcher keep trying them on for size.  Enhance your mobility and turn your device into a power tool! Discover select accessories, such as stylus & pens, SD Micro memory cards, batteries, speakers and glider gloves all specifically designed to make your devices functionally efficient and performance rich.

One thing Samsung got spot on with this device is that it is beautifully balanced when the keyboard is in use.  Get powered up for work, life and play easily and conveniently with a collection of desktop chargers, wall chargers and car chargers.   Get all the power and energy you need for the mobile lifestyle.

Samsung Galaxy S Glide... Impressive Indeed! The camera is another bright feature on this smartphone. The optics for all of the Galaxy family of mobile devices are consitently superb. With an 8MP camera that is accurate and fast, it also features and autofocus that aids in consistently high quality shots. With this in mind, this writer does recommend a removable micro SD memory card to ensure continued good performance and saved pictures.  Experience the latest in earpieces and headsets that combine sophisticated style and precision engineering that deliver brilliant sound for your total listening pleasure

    Performance & Software

Despite the fact that this smartphone addition is using a capable, but out of date Tegra 2, it does work well on the Android platform for smooth performance and for what it lacks in power it is stable and more worry free.   Discover an extensive selection of the latest lithium technology replacement cell phone and wireless devices batteries.  Ensure your device is powered by brand name batteries for longer operating life

    Network Speed and Call Quality

So, the call quality isn’t an issue on the network, but as with the other Samsung devices, the earpiece has a lower output. Despite the noise canceling secondary microphone at the back of the phone, this fault is still noticeable in busy environs with more white noise, users may want to experiment with higher quality Bluetooth devices to improve this sound quality.

Also disappointing is the mono speaker quality. Functional for conference calls and the like, it is shrill and unpleasing. For music and other media, customers are better off using a separate media device for their entertainment usage. Discover  XMI Speakers' uncompromised sound quality and a revolutionary design accentuating  today's interactive lifestyle.

Samsung Galaxy S Glide... Impressive Indeed!

    Wrap-up

Overall, this phone may be exactly the right phone for some users because of its fit and keyboard and camera. It doesn’t wow with its processor and shiny new insides or a beautifully sleek and aethetically pleasing body, but that likely wasn’t the goal of Samsung. They clearly invested time and efforts in the keyboard and made the most of aging hardware to provide a compromise to customers with different needs. The only question left to answer is if this latest addition will be made available unlocked or what carriers it will be made available through.  let the latest in trend setting fashionable accessories express your unique style!  Discover an extensive array of award-wining design protective cases and skins deliver modern style, stunning design and smart protection.  Make your mobile devices stand out.  Customize your look - how cool can you be?

Have you ever tried to research existing patents? It is a crazy and convoluted process that is often counterintuitive. For example, there are companies that purchase patents as a means of earning revenue through lawsuits instead of for developing and promoting new technology. They are called Patent Trolls. If you find a new way to make toast? Patent it!   Leaving your valuable mobile devices unprotected is risky!  the latest innovative protection solutions allow you to protect your devices from scratches and blemishes with stylish top brand bags, sleeves and cases.  Tough on the outside, sweet on the inside our brand name protection accessories combine complete device coverage with sleek artistic expression.

Apple wins a Checkmate in Patent Lawsuit against HTCThis may be the route Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer, HTC, may take after Monday’s ruling by the United Stated International Trade Commission which found HTC in violation of Apple patents.  XMI speakersdeliver uncompromised sound quality and a revolutionary design accentuating today's interactive lifestyle.   In addition, earpieces and headsets combine sophisticated style and precision engineering that deliver brilliant sound for your total listening pleasure.

Right now, a ban on the manufacturer’s smartphones that incorporate the offending technology will go into effect April of next year. This ban could mean seriously bad news for their US sales. Still waiting to hear which smartphone and  tablet devices will be affected and what their strategy to sidestep this checkmate will be.

Apple’s late CEO, Steve Jobs, initiated this legal flurry in March of 2010 with a filing of 10 complaints against HTC for patent infringement. The verdicts have so far been mainly in Apple’s favor and validate Jobs’ comment at the time: “We can sit by and watch competitors steal our patented inventions, or we can do something about it. We’ve decided to do something about it.”  Get powered up for work, life and play easily and conveniently with desktop chargers , wall chargers and car chargers.   Get all the power and energy you need for the mobile lifestyle.

Apple wins a Checkmate in Patent Lawsuit against HTC

For some more clarity in a mutli-level maze of lawsuits between Apple and HTC, patent expert Florian Muller of FOSS Patents shed some light on the technology in question and the injunction applied to it. According to Muller, the injunction will affect handsets that use “data tapping.” This is a feature that users have come to expect in their smartphones regardless of manufacturer, carrier, or operating system. Google will have to use some creative thinking to work around patent infringement to avoid a negative impact on sales when the ban is put in place.

Technology is such an integral part of our daily lives that it is often easy to be unaware of what is silently going on and lurking in the background of our computers – especially what have now become pocket-computers - smartphones. The intent behind writing malware code has significantly shifted from the early days of this intrusive and highly damaging virus creation. Where it once was mischievous, attention-grabbing and reeked of personal ego and glorification, we are now in an era where viruses are stealthy coded to gather information which is then sold for profit. The 21st century has seen an exponential growth in malware to fuel a multi-billion dollar black market industry that is more profitable than illegal gambling and pornography combined.   In fact many wireless carriers are tracking user's behavior and personal SMS through a  spyware product developed by a company called Carrier IQ.  Protect your privacy from carriers with unlocked cell phones... which are carrier agnostic and allow you freedom from being 'locked in' a long term service contract.

Exponential Growth in for-profit Malware Hits Android

Antivirus / software security companies are in a constant cat and mouse game with malicious code writers and crime rings to protect the assets and information of consumers. PC users and companies alike recognize the need for security software on endpoints.  Leaving your valuable mobile devices unprotected is risky!  The latest innovative protection solutions allow you to protect your devices from scratches and blemishes with stylish top brand bags, sleeves and cases.  Tough on the outside, sweet on the inside our brand name protection cases and skin accessories combine complete device coverage with sleek artistic expression.

What many consumers and companies are in denial about is the fact that smartphones are another endpoint open to infection and infiltration (and let’s be honest, righteous Mac / Apple users epitomize the attitude of this mindset). Alas, greed knows no boundaries, even if you have a sleek and lovely device in a cool case. To the chagrin of both iOS and Android users, botnets and rootkits that steal data don’t necessarily slow smartphones down which makes them silent and hard to detect, allowing malware to exploit consumer information for a profit.  Enhance your mobility... turn your device into a power tool.  Discover select premium memory and electronic accessories specifically designed to make your devices functionally efficient and performance rich.

Exponential Growth in for-profit Malware Hits Android

So, as the Carrier IQ scandal has brought widespread attention about carrier-sourced spyware, the ever growing targeted threat to Android users has walked off of center stage. According to Lookout Mobile Security, more than $1 million was pilfered from Android smartphones in 2011 and the amount of malware written for this OS dramatically jumped from 1% to 4% this year. The security firm highlights the practice of “mobile pickpocketing” which is malicious code written to steal money by exploiting carrier billing features. Consumers do have the option of unlocked devices and allow themselves the ability to shop around for carriers that address these security gaps.  Get powered up for work, life and play easily and conveniently with their collection of desktop chargers, wall chargers and car chargers.   Get all the power and energy you need for the mobile lifestyle.

The data was collected from 15 million handsets globally and from over one million apps in efforts to compile a 2012 Mobile Threat Predictions report. All signs point to continued increases in lost money, infected machines, and collected data in 2012.  Discover  the widest online selection of Bluetooth Headsets and BlueTooth Car Kits.  Latest technology from top brand manufacturers.  Hands free functionality is designed for the interactive 'on the go' lifestyle  and allows safe driving

Following these findings, the co-founder and CTO of Lookout Mobile Security stated, “2011 was a watershed year in terms of the types threats we saw emerging […] “Threats had greater sophistication and were deployed using more innovative and efficient distribution methods. In 2012, we expect to see the mobile malware business turn profitable. What took 15 years on the PC platform has only taken the mobile ecosystem two years.”

So – consumers beware, be educated, be on guard. Be empowered.

  • Google Android OS: Growing Goliath
Posted on December 15, 2011 by Pure Mobile

    By Aldo Panessidi

Google Android OS: Growing GoliathDo you know what unbiased opinion is? No. Not teen spirit. It's the results from the report released by VisionMobile on Monday comparing the top eight open source platforms on the market. Not to be found under the shade of Google’s umbrella, this report sheds light on the marketing spin on Google’s Android OS.  .   Accessories are designed to protect, personalize and enhance your mobile devices.  Discover the innovative protection solutions that allow you to protect your devices from scratches and blemishes with stylish top brand bags, sleeves and cases.  Tough on the outside, sweet on the inside our brand nameprotection accessories combine complete device coverage with sleek artistic expression

Any newbie to the mobilization market knows that Apple’s iOS is a closed platform. It has also done remarkably well in winning over the creative geniuses in the sub-markets for apps and accessory creation. Google’s comeback to this success is that it is truly the best friend of app developers because of its “open source” concept.  Let  trend setting fashionable accessories express your unique style!  Discover an extensive array of award-wining design protective cases and skins that deliver modern style, stunning design and smart protection.  Make your mobile devices stand out.  Customize your look - how cool can you be?

True, the leviathan’s OS is more widely available to mobile device manufacturers and more easily distributed globally thanks to unlocked phones, but is it truly all that “open”? VisionMobile votes NO!   In fact, the new report ranks it the most closed of the open source platforms out of the eight reviewed projects. As can be seen in the Open Governance Index (please see below), an in-depth review of the relative openness for Android, Wt, Symbian, MeeGo, Mozilla, WebKit, Linux, and Eclipse yields results that defy the lip service of the Google executive team.   Enhance your mobility... turn your device into a power tool.  Discover select electronic accessories specifically designed to make your devices functionally efficient and performance rich.

    Google Android OS: Growing Goliath

By excluding licensing models and instead employing governance as a core metric, VisionMobile determined that Eclipse is actually the most open of these projects, pulling in a score of 84%. In contrast, Google’s Android came in dead last with an index score of 23%. With all the benefits of open source touted by Google, how does this add up?  XMI Speakers have built a reputation for delivering  uncompromised sound quality and a revolutionary design accentuating  today's interactive lifestyle.   Our earpieces and headsets combine sophisticated style and precision engineering that deliver brilliant sound for your total listening pleasure.

Follow the money. The firm concluded that the success of Android OS is in major part thanks to the significant financial backing of Google and its primary source of revenue. “Google has made Android available at ‘less than zero’ cost, since Google’s core business is not software or search, but driving eyeballs to ads,” the report states. “As is now well understood, Google’s strategy has been to subsidize Android such that it can deliver cheap handsets and low-cost wireless Internet access in order to drive more eyeballs to Google’s ad inventory. Get powered up for work, life and play easily and conveniently with desktop chargers, wall chargers and car chargers - all the power and energy you need for the mobile lifestyle.

    Google Android OS: Growing Goliath

This is no garage grown start up. Instead, Google’s global presence, billions of marketing dollars (grace a carriers and vendors) and a drive to gobble up Apple’s grassroots momentum are behind Android’s success. Not its open source licensing philosophy. Nor its iconic, proprietary devices and end-user inspired mobile accessories.

Perhaps Nokia’s CEO, Stephen Elop, stated it best this past June: “Apple created the conditions necessary for Android.“
