  • Google's popular Google Maps service is under fire.  While many appreciate the service because they can view actual images of areas they are traveling to, the Street View cars are said to have come across very sensitive personal data that if used, could leave the population at risk.  These Google Maps applications are available for use on all Google Android phones.  While some believe this security breach should be charged with hefty fines for unlawful acts, the Federal Trade Commission feels differently.  After Google admitted they did accidentally steal passwords, emails and personal information of Google Android unlocked cell phones users, the FTC chose to drop the matter and not to issue any exorbitant fines.

The stolen data Google came across has been investigated by the FTC.  Earlier in the week, Google did confirm that their Street View cars used to capture images for their popular Google Maps service did come across passwords and sensitive information.  This public breach of security was completely unintentional and after a serious investigation, the FTC did not find reason to fine Google for this unintentional and unlawful act.  Google has made promises to the FTC that all data that was inadvertently stolen will be destroyed and will not be used in any way.  Because Google has made written assurances, they will not use the sensitive data now or in the future; the FTC has closed the investigation.

With the commitments made to the FTC, Google is said to have dodged a bullet that could have significantly affected their earnings for 2010.  While the Street View car debacle was completely by accident, some consumers are still concerned their information may be at risk.  With the inquiry being closed, consumers can rest assured that all sensitive data obtained will be safe and they have nothing to worry about.

  • We have been receiving further more and even more information regarding the infamous (for now) HTC Vision or G1 Blaze, and it is on the way of shaping up of being the first device with HSPA+ from T-mobile.

As previously reported by us, the Emerald of project might be an adorned launches of both the the MyTouch 3G HD and Vision, it seems that the name is kept all to itself by HD.

First off, these names like G1 Blaze and Vision looks like to be murdered off, and new device will be renowned with the name of T-Mobile G2 now and Not at all the G2 Touch. The roadmap of T-mobile which was leaked pegs the G1 successor’s launch for the month of September, where it has been referred to by them as the Vanguard. What is even much more exciting about it is supposedly is that this G2 should have been running the stock of all the androids, which apparently is meaning much faster updates than existing any other unlocked cellphone over there, at least theoretically.

With the version of Android 2.2, several bodies out there still believe that this is the very first time that no one actually needs any skin of custom on that very device, even if all the aesthetic appeals might not be at the par with those skins just as such HTC will sense. I still thought that the stock of Android would apparently be quite dead right after the sipping Nexus one is stopped, and the Unlocked Motorola Droid ( 2 ) which is actually using the UI like Motoblur. We are entirely glad that we have seen that HTC has not given up completely the stock of Android.

It has been said that the G2 will come certainly with a CPU of 800Mhz MSM7230, which might not be the much fastest in the entire of the Android land.

  • As the release of the Unlocked Motorola Droid has caught the attention of the entire world of the smartphone, we have got reports that Samsung and carriers Verizon Wireless are engaged in finalizing their agreement where they will release the Fascinate which is Verizon’s version of the Galaxy S and Gem which are the two most popular Android phones which are currently out in the market.  We have got some great details of the release and more which we can tell you about. Above all, one needs to know that these phones have succeeded in a major way in the international market and this release with Verizon is just going to put it at a notch higher than what it was for this phone. Sales are expected to be higher because of this fact that people are already pretty familiar with this phone and therefore are well aware of the specs for this device.

Other major networks in the country are also pretty much hyped about the release of the Samsung Unlocked Galaxy S (variants) where there have been carriers like T-Mobile who are have already come up with their variations of the Galaxy S. The T-Mobile Vibrant and the AT&T Captivate are some of the variants which are there in the market. As for the Verizon variant, this phone has specs which are pretty similar to the other ones. The most eye catching feature will definitely be the WVGA super AMOLED screen and the 5 megapixel camera without forgetting the pretty strong 1GHz Hummingbird processor. You will also get the capability to record 720p HD video and the Android 2.1 platform with the Touchwiz 3.0 UI is however slightly changed for the Verizon as it now comes with a metallic body which just adds to the look of the phone. We however do not know much about the Gem which is set to launch with Verizon only in September.

  • The Motorola Unlocked  Droid (X) has been well received by the customers and indeed it has a lot of plus sides to it as compared to the draw backs. Probably the biggest plus of this phone is that it does not come with a very heavy custom UI which means that the updates for the Android will reach this phone much faster than other phones which have the infamous Sense UI which does get pretty heavy and entails that the Android 2.2 updates will be reaching these devices much later than the others. This according to us is pretty much what the case is as there have been cases where the owner of any HTC Sense enabled phone is not getting this update while a plain Android Nexus One has the Froyo. The EVO 4G however is probably the only phone on the Sense UI slated to get the Froyo. In this light, we have received news from sources that the Motorola Droid users will not have to bear the agony as it is to get the Android 2.2 as early as next week.

This will mean that the Droid can be used to experience the best of the Froyo features on the keyboard included handset. One of the most important features of the Froyo is the capability to support Flash 10.1 which means that there will be improved Java Script feature which entails that browsing the internet on your phone will be better than ever before. The microSD storage for apps gives the user pretty good flexibility to manage the memory on your phone. The update will mean that the phone can be totally revamped and one will feel as if they are getting a totally new device altogether. We will keep a track on when this will be pushed into the market especially by the service providers like Verizon.
