  • Nokia Might Juuuuust Be Right?

    Nokia Might Juuuuust Be Right?

Not to editorialize or personalize the matter too much, but this writer has to give points to Nokia’s Niels Munksgaard for his recent statement this Tuesday. As the company’s global director of portfolio, product marketing & sales stated, “What we see is that youth are pretty much fed up with iPhones. Everyone has the iPhone,” Munksgaard said. “Also, many are not happy with the complexity of Android and the lack of security. So we do increasing see that the youth that wants to be on the cutting edge and try something new are turning to the Windows phone platform.”  Leaving your valuable mobile devices unprotected is risky!  Protect your devices from scratches and blemishes with our stylish top brand bags, sleeves and cases accessories.

With experience in the antivirus, security sector... where strangely company policy dictated a move from BlackBerry to either an Samsung or an iPhone device, and also as a professional woman who has little patience with overly complex technologies, this statement seriously resonates. It also is on par with my company’s global mobile security expert. Nokia is potentially the Goldilocks option.

Any professional not immersed in creative fields with their attention buried in their Macbook, is familiar with Windows. Pair a familiar OS with a user firendly smartphone and there is a happy medium in a welcome user friendly interface, a warm familiarity, and - for the me-centric generation I belong to – a unique smartphone that I can further accessorize to let the world know what I stand for sans Facebook status update.  Enhance your mobility... turn your device into a power tool.  Discover select accessories, such as, stylus and pens, memory cards, data cables, chargersand other fun gadgets specifically designed to make your devices functionally efficient and performance rich.

    Nokia Might Juuuuust Be Right?

Having been a user of BlackBerrry (RIM OS), an Android (don’t even ask me the device manufacturer), and now an iPhone, I have long wondered if there was something between the two extremes. According the Munksgaard, Nokia is taking a different path as its competitors essentially recycle one another’s products. “The marketplace is extremely crowded. I refer to it as the sea of sameness,” the Nokia executive said. “When you walk up to a retail shelf at Phones4U and see the number of black mono-blocks sitting on the shelf, it is very confusing to the consumer. We want to deliver services and phones that are different.”  Conversely, it is the fashion and personalization through protective accessories (and shared accounts with other Apple devices acquired post iPhone) that will make a transition challenging.

To date, the Finnish mobile device manufacturer has released two Windows phones: unnder the the Nokia Lumia banner and all indicators point to another smartphone unveiling at the Consumer Electronics Show in the appropriately glitzy Las Vegas next month.

LeNovo Enters Jousting for Market Share with New Smartphone If at first you don’t succeed, try again and try again! This age old adage is being followed by Chinese company, LeNovo. Yesterday they announced five new unlocked smartphones that didn’t overly impress the increasingly feature-centric and performance driven consumer market. However, today they released two LePhone droids that were more inspiring: the S760 and the K2.

The LeNovo LePhone S760 is quite compact with a 3.7” AMOLED screen, a 5 megapixel main camera and a 1.3 megapixel front camera. Its RAM is 512 MB powered by a single-core Scorpion CPU.  If camera quality is an important feature, this phone may not do the trick and consumers will want to comparison shop other mobile device options.  Wireless accessories are designed to protect, personalize and enhance your mobile devices.

On the other hand, the LePhone K2 is quite powerful: a dual-core 1.5GHz Scorpion CPU and a Qualcomm MSM8260 chipset. A full gigabyte of RAM is the cherry on top.  Also sporting an 8 megapixel camera and 1080p video recording, this smartphone makes great use of the 4.3” IPS LCD screen.  Consider top quality, innovative protective solutions and premium electronic accessories from the industry's leading brands.

LeNovo Enters Jousting for Market Share with New Smartphone

As of now, there is no news on when these newest additions to the smartphone market will be made available to North America.  Best case scenario is that eager LeNovo shoppers will be surprised with little boxes under the tree and stockings full of the fun gadgets and accessories!

They are responsible for bringing the popular notetaking software titled Evernote enter going to be bringing the mobile payment software to the application. It is good to see that they are looking to bring this technology to as many different applications and devices as possible as it is going to make things a lot easier for customers to be able to purchase items while they’re out and about.

Touchanote To Bring NFC Support to Their Evernote App

The application was originally started by a startup titled Wiseleap, which was able to take only total of a $50,000 grand prize at a recent developer conference that brings money to promising startups. This, along with the recent image sharing application acquisition Skitch, it appears that they Touchanote is really positioning themselves to be a player within the industry.

They will be utilizing a combination of various NFC stickers along with a recent mobile application, and you can download both straight through the Touchanote website. One example of how you can utilize the new technology is to place a sticker on the fridge that also has a grocery list in the ever note application. This would allow you to launch your list through the phone by tapping or waving your device straight near the attack. This is a very interesting way to utilize the NFC technology and should make for an interesting new application that should give users a lot of control over their situation and had some very interesting new technology to their package.

  • The Sony Playstation phone is a device that has been rumored to have been in development for a number of years now, but excited fans have not had any big announcements or reveals until recently when pictures of the alleged device made their way online. Now, fans who have anxiously awaited details regarding the Playstation phone finally have something to celebrate.

The phone was spotted in a “secret” spy video that that made its way to the web today In the video you can see someone using the phone and it appears that they do not know that they are being filmed while they use it, although this is up to interpretation. Companies have been known to leak similar videos online to help build the hype for upcoming devices and it wouldn’t be surprising to find out that there is a similar case here as well.

The quality of the video is fairly low so it is hard to see all of the features in crystal clear action, although a number of the rumored features have been confirmed through the video. You can see that the phone looks like any other phone device until you slide out the game pad that is used to help users control the games that will reportedly be available for the phone.

The Playstation phone has been kept under tight wraps by Sony, but from what a number of sources have been able to surmise so far, the device will function as the next generation of the PSP and will be available on a number of different carriers if everything goes to plan. No games have been announced for the device but with videos and other details about the phone being made available online Sony should be preparing an official announcement here soon.

  • Car thieves have a lot more to worry about during the smart device era. There are a plethora of different devices that could potentially track the location of a car after it is stolen and thieves have to quickly disable these devices after making off with a car. With OnStar becoming increasingly popular in many different types of vehicles, stealing cars has never been so hard for these criminals.

One solid example of how the car theft game has changed is a recent incident in which a man was tracked and arrested less than ten minutes after stealing a car. There was no OnStar or any other built in software that tracked the location, but the man had stolen the car with an unlocked Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Android phone inside. Thanks to an appt hat was running on the device, the man who owned the car was able to log in to his application account and inform police of the exact location of the vehicle shortly after it was stolen. The man responsible for the theft was apprehended less than ten minutes after the theft took place.

The application that saved the day was Lookout, an application that is most commonly used as an antivirus tool for phone devices. Luckily, the device also doubles as a phone finding tool, allowing users to log in and check a GPS map to help them locate a lost phone. This application came in handy for the man whose car was stolen, helping him to quickly locate his car and provide police with details regarding its location.

This serves as one of a number of examples of how smart phone technology is thwarting everyday criminals. As these features expand, you can expect to hear more stories like this coming out. A small investment for his smart phone ended up saving the man in question all of the headaches that deal with locating a stolen car.
