Moshi for iPad
  • This may just remain speculation for now but it is important and hence we think that one should know that the Nexus One Phone has finally got the capacity to be able to record video in High Definition 720p resolution. This device will record the video on the new CyanogenMod 6 Froyo ROM which has been installed in it. The latter is actually the greater news than the HD video recording as the capability for recording video in this quality is not really new for the Nexus One but it is actually the first time that this feature is being linked with the new CM6 Android 2.2 Froyo edition. This is something which is exciting for us. According to the news that we have got, this mod for Nexus One has only been made available for the CyanogenMod editions which are greater than the recent RC2 and therefore we need to be patient at least for some time when it gets incorporated into the next CM6 release.

This mod is actually accessible as a kind of path and can be transferred to other ROMs but for now, the 720p recording is exclusively available on the CyanogenMod. Therefore the owners of the Nexus One will not have to be jealous of the similar Sense bearing counterpart which is the HTC desire Unlocked smartphone which has received the feature of recording video in 720p for a long time. As far as the quality of recording goes, we have found that the video comes pretty good even in low light conditions and clarity is very good in the images. However if you are using the built in microSD card which comes with this phone then you probably will have to upgrade to a new one for the time being at least. This phone is far from gone and it will be receiving a lot of new similar modifications soon.

  • We, like, several mobile phone enthusiasts have heard about the rumors of the Samsung Galaxy i9200 or the Unlocked Galaxy ( S2 ) which was supposed to be carrying specifications which would make it probably the best phone that ever existed. However, after doing some research by ourselves, we are led to believe that this phone might just not be reality but a big hoax. This is equally difficult for all of us as even we were very excited after hearing about the Galaxy S2. If this is to release, god only knows what the costs are going to be of this one.

Some of the specifications on this phone are downright astounding. The super AMOLED 2 screen which is said to be coming on this phone is honestly too much of a long shot. After the huge success of the first line of the super AMOLED screen, Samsung has been flooded with the demands for the latter. Therefore it is highly unlikely that they will be going in for a revamp of it any time now, rather by early 2011 which was when this phone was supposed to come out. This is not the end of the worries for this phone. The huge read only memory which has been quoted for this phone is pegged at 4 GB, which is absurd. Why would a phone carry this kind of memory?

The Google’s Unlocked  Nexus One which is a kind of a leader in terms of smartphones will be left far behind if the specs given above along with others like 32 GB internal and 32 GB expandable memory are allowed. For a one year leap in development, these kinds of specifications are a little too much suspect.  However with all the controversies aside, there have also been arguments which say that this kind of development may just be possible at the speed of the work which is being done today.

  • Desire takes on the iPhone 4
Posted on July 14, 2010 by Pure Mobile

Android fans on T-Mobile, UK, can get their beloved Unlocked HTC ( Desire ) at a lesser price. HTC has taken some serious steps to battle the iPhone 4, and one of the most significant steps it has taken is cutting the price. Customers can avail the HTC Desire at about $55 when they sign up for a contract. This contract includes 100 text messages, 100 minutes, and 3GB of data. Users can also get the Android-powered handset for about $76, when they avail a monthly contract, which will include 500 text messages, 600 minutes, and 3GB of data. The previous package comes for $30 per month, while the second package comes at $38 per month. This move was initiated by HTC to take on the iPhone 4, which has been recently released, and is available on Vodafone, for $332, and a monthly contract.

Whether this move will give the Desire an edge over Apple’s iPhone 4 is anyone’s guess. It will take a lot for Desire to gain an upper hand against the iPhone 4, considering its “new ness”. But then, the Desire is a fine handset, and it is essentially a Google Nexus One unlocked handset, with HTC’s Sense software.

HTC has truly done a wonderful job with the Desire. The handset comes equipped with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, which makes switching between applications mighty easy. It has a 3.7 inch AMOLED screen, which is fully touch-enabled, and has Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and a rocking 5 megapixel camera.

The iPhone 4 unlocked handset  is probably a little better. It has an A4 processor, a variety of connectivity options, almost all that you would expect from a smartphone, and it also has a 5 megapixel camera, and can shoot videos in high definition. Although the screen is smaller than that of the Desire, it has retina display that includes 326 pixels per inch.

All in all, hopefully, HTC’s efforts will pay off, and it will be able to give the Desire a higher market than the iPhone 4.

  • The messaging phone line up of T-Mobile has most of its hardware sourced from Samsung. But the Unlocked Motorola ( Charm ) is an exception to that rule. There introduction of the slider with a QWERTY pad will be bringing Android OS to the list of messaging phones that are affordable.

This fact is known because the recenty posted back-to-school ads are by T-Mobile, where we can see the glory hanging behind all the Samsung messaging phones. These messaging phones include the Samsung Smiley, Samsung Gravity T, and the Unlocked  Samsung (Gravity 3). But the only difference there is, is that of the Motorola Charm’s Android OS. This project is part of T-Mobile’s back-to-school promotions. These advertisements will be enticing for parents, whose kids will be going back to their respective schools, once they reopen after vacation.

Messaging phones are basically phones which concentrate mainly on messaging facilities. They are also known as dumbphones, as they lack the traditional smartphone OS, but they make up this deficit with a full QWERTY keyboard. The Motorola Charm is like a link between dumbphones and smartphones. It has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, with Android OS. Thus two problems are solved in a single phone.

According to T-Mobile, their phones for messaging will be for free, making the Motorola Charm the cheapest phone with the Android OS.  In other words, it is the cheapest smartphone powered by Google’s Nexus one unlocked phone  operating system available with new contract, for free. Magenta is yet to announce the specifics about the launch, but there is a high chance the Charm may be introduced a month before school reopens. Hopefully, there will be many who would want to lay their hands on one of these babies, and hopefully, the Charm will work well on people.

  • When the new broadcasters broke off into being their usual dramatic selves and informed us with the breaking news that the T mobile GarminPhone hasn’t been doing well in the market, no one was shocked. It was as if it was expected to flunk, plummet in the market. It’s become transparent that no one wants a relatively limited GPS centric handset, even if it might be running on the Android technology.

On your TV screens, in advertisements or on the paper the GarminPhone will sweep you off your feet with its sleek snazzy looks.  But the features that they offer are quite modest to say the least. The model sports a 3.5-inch capacitive touch screen, 3-megapixel camera with no flash, 3G, Wi-Fi and a microSD slot. These features are all there and much better in the other smartphones such as the Motorola Milestone so this GarminPhone doesn’t really offer anything new or groundbreaking.

But it does provide with a sleek new feature, which enables its users to give away their own navigational device and rely on the GarminPhone navigational facilities.  Before its release there was a lot of talk about the classy navigational features and a lot of din was made by the retail shopkeepers, but since its launch not a very many shops have shown a lot of interest in marketing the product realizing that navigational technology installment inside a smartphone didn’t make it a cut above the rest.

The main reasons why the GarminPhone couldn’t bite into the market were because people were already using the Android 2.0 ( Google Nexus One Unlocked ) technology, which allowed for Google navigation which is a free turn by turn navigational facility. Though the disadvantage of Google is that it doesn’t work without cell connectivity but most users are comfortable with it and it would take a lot more work from the GarminPhone makers to get themselves some share of customers.

  • Unlocked HTC ( EVO 4G ) can soon be available for you at an amazing price of $149.99. The company does provide an initial $100 Best Buy rebate which makes this phone available to you for a price of $199. However it has come to our attention that Sprint is secretly offering the customers who are willing to deal with a mail-in discount. This gives the buyer a rebate of $50. Therefore, one can get this phone at an amazingly low rate of $149.99.

In terms of features, this phone is definitely well loaded. It boasts of

    • 4.3 inch touch screen
    • A really nice 8 GB camera with dual LED flash
    • 1 GHz Snapdragon processor
    • Wi-Fi, 4G connectivity and the novelty of a kickstand for watching movies on the mobile phone.
    • Plus it works on the Android 2.1 OS like Google Unlocked  Nexus One and has the HTC Sense UI skin.

However availing of this discount, does require some amount of maneuvering on the part of the customer. Once you can get this discount, the hottest Sprint mobile phone could be yours.

Follow these steps to get the discount that you are looking for-

    • Apply for the phone by using the option which says “buy with new plan”. By this, you can get yourselves on their logs
    • Then you cancel your order. What will happen is that Sprint will mail you, offering you an additional $50 discount hoping that you change your mind. This additional $50 discount is compounded upon the mail in discount of $100.

Do not fear, this is completely genuine as Sprint is offering the rebate which makes this phone available at this incredible price. This is really cool and we here really like this as it definitely will swing a lot of consumers who would otherwise not have gone for the HTC EVO 4G.

  • Unlocked Google Nexus One’s Android operating system is by far one of the best to have hit the market in recent years. Now there is an additional benefit for users of the Android. DoubleTwist, the iTunes-aping desktop sync manager has created a media player specifically designed for the Android. Recently released, early user feedback for this media player has been very positive. The fact that it is freely available and can be used for playing video as well as music, having the ability of directly interacting with your computer has proved to be a great hit with users. In fact you can import your favorite play-lists, ratings as well as other media directly from your computer. There are also many other features that have been slated for release, although many of they might have to be paid for, such as widget control.

Considering the fact that Google Android has been one of the greatest successes to have hit Unlocked Mobile Phones and is now being seen as the future of most smart phones and tablet computers, it is not at all a surprise to find that many developers have started customizing their applications for this operating system. There are many advantages associated with using DoubleTwist’s media player such apart from the fact that it is completely free to use. It can also sync perfectly well with the iTunes play-lists you might have. In fact, you can even use the media player to sync with your iTunes videos. The transferring of play counts, ratings as well as other information such as lyrics and song artists can be easily done due to its perfect integration with your desktop computer. Other features involve the ability of using imported songs as ringtones from the application and the ability of controlling the application through earphone controls.

On the downside, the DoubleTwist player can only support music that has been pre-loaded on a SD card which might pose a problem should you be using an HTC.
