  • It is easy to see why Microsoft would like to put an end to the sale of Motorola Android devices. They racially opened a case in front of the United States international Trade Commission on Monday, asking that they block Motorola mobility from selling a number of different devices including the Droid 2, unlocked Motorola Droid X and CliqXT. The company said that they were looking to protect the property that they have, and as a result we’re going to have to ask them not to sell these phones. When the company was purchased by Google earlier in the month, a lot of heads were turned in the process. It is definitely something that has changed the shape of the mobile industry in less than a few weeks and is going to continue to affect the quite some time to come.

Microsoft Looks to End Motorola Android Devices

    Motorola Droid X

A spokesman for the company said that the Motorola mobility is looking to vigorously defend itself against a strategy that Microsoft has employed that they claim is more in the interests of patent blocking than anything else. Many also claimed that Google purchased the company in order to garner a number of patents, and were not all that interested in the company on its own.

It will be interesting to see how this turns out, as this move could drastically affect both companies moving into the future. If they win the case and allow them to not have to sell their Android devices such as Motorola XT860 unlocked, Xoom Tablet, etc., it could be a huge step in the wrong direction for Google Earth this would also be a huge step in the right direction for Microsoft. To say the least, the companies coming into this fight could tie them up for quite some time. Do not expect a quick decision on the subject.

  • Google will be acquiring Motorola in a surprising move that will shake up the mobile industry and will definitely change the way that the industry had from here on out. The acquisition will take place for a total of $12.5 billion overall, and will allow for the company to be able to put together an excellent portfolio to protect themselves and to take other companies to court.

Google Acquires Motorola Mobility for $12.5 Billion

Google will be competing with Apple and the unlocked iPhone 4, and this acquisition will allow them to secure a large amount of difference smart devices that will allow for them to be able to put together one of the largest mobile tech companies in the world. This acquisition is one of the largest that the industry has seen in recent years, and you can bet that there are many different companies upset about this acquisition. With Google already under investigation for having a monopoly over several parts of the tech industry, this acquisition is definitely not going to help them with their case if they do not have a monopoly.

Google is a company that is constantly repositioning themselves to shake up the industry, and this acquisition is not going to be any different for them. Their commitment to the Android platform is apparent with this purchase, as it will allow them to have more control over the devices that utilize Android such as unlocked Motorola Atrix and will also allow them to change their future for the better.

Google Acquires Motorola Mobility for $12.5 Billion

It is hard to think of acquisition in recent memory that shows as much of a shakeup as this one did. It has been an interesting week within the industry, but you can bet that this one will definitely change the industry quite a bit over the course of the next few months. Being able to get a hold of all of those different patterns will help Google in court, and will also allow them to produce new and exciting devices.

  • T-Mobile Drops 50,000 Subscribers
Posted on August 6, 2011 by Pure Mobile

Following the news that AT&T purchase T-Mobile, it appears that the response from users is not as good as many thought that it would be. A recent report claims that T-Mobile has lost a total of 50,000 subscribers throughout the second quarter and also saw a decline in their revenue. The second-quarter results were reported on Thursday it was noted that the company lost a total of 50,000 subscribers over the second quarter alone. That is a huge draw, but it’s still not nearly as large as the total of 93,000 subscribers that the company lost one year previous to that. They have been hemorrhaging subscribers left and right and have not done a good job of keeping the subscribers that they do have.

It is clear that users were not happy with the fact that T-Mobile was purchased by AT&T. We have seen the total number of customers that they have subscribed fall substantially every quarter since the merger was first announced. AT&T has seen the total cost of the company perhaps not pan out in the way that they thought that it would. Things have changed drastically since they first purchased the company.

    T-Mobile Drops 50,000 Subscribers

It will be interesting to see if they are able to put together a plan to get the subscribers back before the merger officially takes place. The purchase of T-Mobile from AT&T has not actually gone through yet, but it is clear that they are not looking for the subscriber base, and instead are looking to extend their network and put together a plan that makes sense. In all, the number of subscribers that they have lost over the course of the last few quarters has been a huge blow to the company’s subscriber base and it is clear that they are going to have to do something in order to regain the customers that they have lost. As contracts end, customers are jumping ship for greener pastures than AT&T, a company that has not had the best reputation as of late.

  • Motorola Droid 3 Review
Posted on July 29, 2011 by Pure Mobile

The unlocked Motorola Droid 3 is a device that has received a lot of attention over the course of the last few months. It has been a successful device for Android and Motorola alike and has provided top-of-the-line experience for users. The design of the device is a little different than the previous versions of the Motorola Droid. It is a heritage center than its counterpart, and also has a 4 inch display that replaces the 3.7 inch LCD screen that was on previous versions of the device.

It also has a micro-USB port along with an HD in my port and an eight mega pixel camera along with dual LED flash. It is capable of 1080 P. HD captured video some of the best on the market. The keyboard of the device is a full slide out keyboard, which allows for users to better utilize and type messages. The keyboard is easily the best that they have released thus far which makes it a very popular option for many.

Android 2.3 gingerbread The Android 2.3 gingerbread operating system with Motorola’s customization makes for a swift and easy experience.  This is by far one of the best operating system customizations that the company has released. It is the fastest operating system that they have released, but has been a victim of random slowdowns here and there. In all, the Motorola directory has one of the best batteries that we have seen in recent times, but one of the biggest complaints is the voice experience when using the device. Calls have trouble going through what are often choppy or distorted and cut in and out. The volume of the voice and the build is not that great either. In all, the Motorola Droid 3 unlocked does have a number of different issues, but it’s a solid device overall if you can get past the voice issues.

  • If one is giving a thought or willing to buy the new phone from Verizon which is considered as one of the best 3G smartphones or a 3G Multimedia device, that person will be extremely happy hearing that he can get a credit of dollars 30 for every 3G smartphone buy. This phone very much covers the characteristics of any phone that one is willing to buy from Big Red. The source of Verizon informs us that starting from 30th July itself, this cash back incentive provided by the company will be inordinately beneficial.

The number one carrier for wireless networks in US, calculated on the basis of the number of subscribers, will provide the customers the benefit of ruling the air with this specially devised incentive facility. The credit of $30 is provided to most of the 3G enabled phones of Verizon’s smartphone series and the multimedia series of phones including the best smartphones with Android. So if one is willing to buy a HTC Droid Incredible or the Motorola Droid X, he can actually save a huge amount from his pocket if he purchases the article in the near future. Venison does not need this incentive to promote the Unlocked Droid ( X ) or the Incredible but to measure how these smartphones are selling by their own.

But for every smart phone that is not showing ship dates in August one can earn a credit of $30 on each buy of smartphones. One needs to take an absolute advantage of this offer else it is very unsure when Verizon would launch its second offer. If one is still not aware of the new Unlocked Motorola Droid X from Verizon review, he might check it out on the internet. People can also go through the review of Verizon HTC Droid Incredible. One can also search and browse through the Super phone Shootout to compare the smartphone available during this summer season.

  • In this highly mobile world, trends that have just kicked in are gotten rid off immediately and a much newer trend is then adopted. With the Unlocked Droid ( X) from Motorola and Incredible from HTC covering the elite section of Verizon’s smartphones, the older ones such as Droid, which hits its eight month, and Devour, which hits five, are taking the back seats. Although Verizon will still continue selling both their products, Motorola will be pulling back their any further supplies. So make sure to decide fast if you want your Unlocked Motorola handset because these stacks are soon to be cleared for fresher stocks to arrive. Like the former mentioned Motorola, a few others will be soon following suit, and in the mad rush to aim for the better and newer and more sought after models, these too will also be shown the door.

The 9630 tours by BlackBerry did not make it to the cut like Motorola’s Droid X and will soon be cleared from most stores. As mentioned previously all precedent older mobiles, which have already had their fill of success in the market will soon be out. The Blackberry Unlocked  9650 Tour will be replaced by Bold 9650 accompanied by the much sought after Nokia Twist. Samsung’s feature phones too have been treated the same way as they lost the crunch, although that was always expected. These changes are a sure sign that no longer will phones be tolerated as only newer models of cell  phones are being sought after by customers. The Droid on one hand drove a heavily successful campaign in the advertisement world, which ensured their stay.

The need to replace older stock models can be easily seen from the fact that many customers plan on purchasing newer models instead of older ones as newer models usually have better features.

  • One cannot really hate the promotional work that T-Mobile does and we too are also becoming fans of this network. Recently the company had launched a new plan where they offered the entire line of cell phones for free. Now the company has come with a new deal where you can get the Unlocked Motorola ( Charm ) which comes with the Android OS for free by signing with them on the family plan. Even if you are not a part of any family, you can get this phone via the back to school offer that the company will be giving.

On the downside, the Charm phone is not really very high on specs phone and one should not really look for getting much out of it. While there are not many great features, you will get the minimum out of this phone which itself is said to be a messaging phone. However, we feel that if T-Mobile does not cash in on this phone soon enough then they might lose out on some revenues that they might have gotten.

In terms of pricing, again this unlocked phone is offered for free against the customary two year contract that one has to sign with the service provider. The price of a phone like the Charm can easily range up to around $100 and since you are getting this phone for as much as $0 then you can definitely have no qualms about paying extra for the contract you would have to sign.

We strongly believe that T-Mobile should really consider making this plan a permanent one as this may just keep the flow of the customers coming into their bandwagon. The phone is nothing much to write home about but we do recommend it just because of the plan that the good people at T-Mobile are offering us.

  • The most awaited Android device which has been slated for a summer release in July is soon to hit the markets and customers will get their chance to get their hands on this one very soon. The company has been engaged in a strong advertising campaign which had been built to create a big hype around this unlocked cellphone. Well they have done it again with the new promotional video for this phone which has come out on the internet. This gets the viewers attention but funnily does not have any information about the phone itself. However this is a great gimmick nonetheless.

In terms of the features, the Verizon Unlocked Motorola Droid ( X ) is one great device and the specs that it carries are much ahead of the other competitors which are there in the market. The large 4.3 inch touchscreen is genuinely good. 1 GHz OMAP processor makes operations on this phone really smooth. Other than this, there is also a great 8 megapixel camera which has a dual LED flash which means taking photographs will be a nice experience on this one. The video recording on this camera is of pretty good quality and its HDMI port offers a 720p HD video and picture streaming to a television screen or any monitor which can be externally connected to this device. This is really important for the people who want good video specs on their smartphone. Other than this, there is GPS, Wi-Fi connectivity and a MicroSD slot on the phone which is sure to satisfy the most discerning user.

Although whatever little reviews which we have laid our hands on is not really excellent, but we sure hope that Verizon gives us more of a reason to go and pick up this phone which we otherwise think is pretty good.

  • HTC has seemingly taken up their fight in the mobile phone market where so far major players like Unlocked Motorola Phones and Samsung have a free reign. After a series of new phones from the latter two, there are some more specs of the soon to be released Unlocked HTC ( Ace ) and Sabor which has come to our attention. What we see here is really amazing and encouragingly, but we feel that the specs can be produced by the next year, latest. The Sabor alongside the Ace forms a duo of two phones which are said to be the supped up versions of the EVO. The Sabor is supposed to be the EVO 2 for the Sprint and the Ace is said to be the GSM version of the EVO.

As far as specifications go, what we are certain of is that the Ace has been slated for release with the Android 3.0 or the Gingerbread which is however, still a distant dream. Other than that, there is the new super AMOLED screen and 1.5 GHz processor which will make this phone smooth to operate. There is also an 8 GB camera and a 1.5 megapixel camera in the front. In terms of process speeds, the figure of 1.5 GHz is pretty believable as the specs of 2 GHz are also being talked about. However, the only thing lacking in this phone is the Sense UI which makes for a rather good looking device. With this, one could have designed custom skins and got the phone to look the way they wanted. Sadly, Ace from HTC does not carry Sense.

As we said earlier, the Ace is the GSM version of the HTC Unlocked (  EVO ) Handset and the upgrade on this phone is pretty good but not revolutionary. Keep your eyes on this to know more.

  • The messaging phone line up of T-Mobile has most of its hardware sourced from Samsung. But the Unlocked Motorola ( Charm ) is an exception to that rule. There introduction of the slider with a QWERTY pad will be bringing Android OS to the list of messaging phones that are affordable.

This fact is known because the recenty posted back-to-school ads are by T-Mobile, where we can see the glory hanging behind all the Samsung messaging phones. These messaging phones include the Samsung Smiley, Samsung Gravity T, and the Unlocked  Samsung (Gravity 3). But the only difference there is, is that of the Motorola Charm’s Android OS. This project is part of T-Mobile’s back-to-school promotions. These advertisements will be enticing for parents, whose kids will be going back to their respective schools, once they reopen after vacation.

Messaging phones are basically phones which concentrate mainly on messaging facilities. They are also known as dumbphones, as they lack the traditional smartphone OS, but they make up this deficit with a full QWERTY keyboard. The Motorola Charm is like a link between dumbphones and smartphones. It has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, with Android OS. Thus two problems are solved in a single phone.

According to T-Mobile, their phones for messaging will be for free, making the Motorola Charm the cheapest phone with the Android OS.  In other words, it is the cheapest smartphone powered by Google’s Nexus one unlocked phone  operating system available with new contract, for free. Magenta is yet to announce the specifics about the launch, but there is a high chance the Charm may be introduced a month before school reopens. Hopefully, there will be many who would want to lay their hands on one of these babies, and hopefully, the Charm will work well on people.
