Ready. Set. Annnnnd Go! Android vs. iOS Faceoff

Imagine your college days where you spent hours vying with Nintendo 64 MarioKart rivalries. Then those hours invested unearthing secret jumps and shortcuts to gain an advantage and leave your competitors in the dust. Technically there were eight contenders. But you and your rival knew it was really just between the two of you.   Let  trend setting fashionable accessories express your unique style!  Our extensive array of award-wining design protective cases and skins deliver modern style, stunning design and smart protection.  Make your mobile devices stand out.  Customize your look - how cool can you be?

In perfect strategy mode, the grand prix allowed for the non-threatening competitors to get some shots in and give you an advantage. Battle mode was just too straightforward and messy.  This is eerily reminiscent of the global competition between Google’s Android OS and Apple’s iOS.  Unlocked cell phones enable you to break free from service provider shackles... choose your preferred service provider and negotiate a service contract that better meets your individual interactive needs.

Ready. Set. Annnnnd Go! Android vs. iOS Faceoff

Those players that helped shape the market initially are rapidly faltering under the momentum of these two dominant players.   2011 saw a clear break from the pact for both Android, which holds a majority 53% of the market, and iOS who continues to grow with 29%. RIM keeps faltering (down to 11% market share).  The previously mighty Microsoft fumbles over its feet with a meek 2% toe hold on the mobile device mountain. How much this has to do with unlocked device availability isn’t noted, but research indicates this is a huge driver in Google Android’s exponential growth.  XMI speakers deliver uncompromised sound quality and a revolutionary design accentuating  today's interactive lifestyle.   Earpieces and headsetscombine sophisticated style and precision engineering that deliver brilliant sound for your total listening pleasure

To further explain, Connected Intelligence’s executive director (Ross Rubin) said. “The competitive landscape for smartphones, which has been reshaped by Apple and Google, has ultimately forced every major handset provider through a major transition.”  The same Ross Rubin continued with, “for many of them, 2012 will be a critical year in assessing how effective their responses have been.” Consumer driven devices, accessories, and apps are huge markers for success as smartphones and tablets are increasingly integrated into day to day needs and usage.  Discover the innovative protection solutions which allow you to protect your devices from scratches and blemishes with our stylish top brand bags, sleeves and cases.  Tough on the outside, sweet on the inside brand name protection accessories combine complete device coverage with sleek artistic expression.

  • Through filing by the FCC, it appears that Sprint is set to launch a new phone to their Android lineup. The goes by the name of the ZTE N860 which is not the greatest of names but as with others will probably change once it get closer to actually being released to the public.

Sprint To Launch The ZTE N860 - Gets FCC Approval

Specifications of the device are not known, the only reference available online are a photo or two showing what the mobile phone looks like. Based on the photo, it appears that the phone is on the medium scale in terms of features as the user interface appears detailed enough suggesting a lot of features are included on the phone.

Sprint To Launch The ZTE N860 - Gets FCC ApprovalThe interesting thing about this release is that it marks the first time that a major national mobile carrier will carry an Android phone manufactured by ZTE. There has been a ZTE phone released in the past but that was on a local level when cricket released the ZTE Score. This could be a sign of things to come since ZTE is readily available in other countries around the world.

ZTE may not be a commonly known name to date. Rest assured that they will soon be as common as some of the other well known brands. In fact, Microsoft has officially made ZTE an official Windows Phone Mango partners licensed to use it. With back to school in full swing and the holiday season around the corner, this release is the beginning of what will be a steady stream of phones getting approval from the FCC and Bluetooth SIG.

There have been times where these FCC approvals do not end up getting released. The fact that the landscape of the industry changes fast does not guarantee it will be released.

  • Isis, which is a company that has been put together by a number of different carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile as well as Verizon, has had support flash of them by a number of device manufacturing companies including me venture Isis. The carrier led venture is one that is looking to really centralize the support for the NFC technology and take it to an entirely new level. All of the handset makers are now committed to introducing handsets that will include the Isys NFC related technology standards. They’re going to be representing a number of different carriers, and having the device manufacturing companies on board with the launch of the service is big news for them because it allows them to have a wider reach throughout the community. Other companies have also tried to launch their own services including Google with the recently launched Google Wallet program which is available for Android handsets such as Unlocked Samsung Infuse, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, etc...

Mobile Manufacturers Pledge Support to NFC Tech Isis Company

The technology that Isis uses is certainly going to become more popular in the coming months and weeks. Being able to pay for objects with a swipe of your mobile device is something that I think that a lot of people would like to have by their sides. Being able to bring it to as many people as possible is something that mobile carriers are likely looking to do. However, they’re not going to be able to do so without first getting as many companies on board with it as possible.

Bringing this NFC technology to the forefront is ideal for the companies involved and will definitely be able to change the outlook of the general public in a more quick way. If they are not able to get the public knowledgeable about what this technology is, then quickly implementing it will be tougher than you think.

The unlocked LG (Thrill 4G) is a device that has been highly anticipated by many. It has a number of great features into a comment at LG tries to regain market share that they had previously admitted disappointing efforts. The company has made it a real goal of theirs to ensure that they are able to put together excellent devices that users will want to have in their pockets. The LG Thrill 4G is one of a number of devices that they have released that seems to reach and maybe even surpasses the expectations of their users.

    LG Thrill 4G Review

The device comes with a 4.3 inch 800 x 480 pixel screen that is able to display bowl two-dimensional and three-dimensional content on the fly. It weighs a total of 5.9 ounces, and is comparable to many of the higher end smart phones that are currently out there.

The device will also run on Android 2.2, an operating system that has been highly popular. AT&T has also promised that the software will be available on the Android 2.3 gingerbread operating system pending an update. The operating system runs smoothly on the device would seem to have the specs to handle it and is one of the most seamless releases that the company has made. With releases like this, it is clear that LG will be able to climb back into the thick of the industry, especially when they’re interesting use of the 3D technology. Overall the unlocked LG ( Thrill 4G ) is a highly powered, high speed device that is able to deliver you high quality content at a price that makes a lot of sense. it also comes complete with a 2-D and 3D camera that allows you to capture five megapixel photos and also video and 1080p HD. • Although IOS and the unlocked iPhone 4 are clearly the most popular device in the nation, that does not mean that every state is currently utilizing the IOS and iPhone more than other devices. It will be interesting to see how the map between Android and IOS changes moving into the future. The United States seems to be split pretty evenly between the two operating systems for mobile devices. Currently their shares at 38% while the Apple IOS marketshare is sitting at 33% as of June.

US Map Divided Between Android and iPhone

Other estimates have stated that the Android market share is at 40% while Apple is currently sitting at 26.6%. This is the largest difference that we’ve seen over the course of all of the estimates that have been released. It is currently clear that Android phones are more popular than I phones throughout the United States, with certain states being more apt to Android devices or IOS devices.

States such as Washington, on the whole, California, Texas, Florida and others tend to lean more toward Android. States such as Rhode Island, Montana, Louisiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, in Virginia all lean toward IOS and iPhone 4 unlocked devices and only a handful of states including Oregon and New York utilize the Blackberry device is most often, this is probably because these are centers for business, with less personal users per 100 people.

US Map Divided Between Android and iPhone

A number of other states are currently neutral including Alabama, Mississippi and Nevada. The states do not lean heavily in any direction, but it is clear that the country as a whole tends to lean toward Android devices, with IOS devices coming close behind. To say the least, it will be interesting to see how the map changes over time and whether or not the map continues to change as the mobile industry shapes and shifts itself as time moves on. Most analytical companies have continued to predict that Android will be taking over the market.

  • The ability to make mobile payments straight from your mobile device such as unlocked Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate, iphone 4 is something that we have seen a lot of companies playing with over the course of the last few months. With Google launching their latest Google Wallet application that will allow for users to make mobile payments by utilizing a number of different credit card processing companies, it now appears that Verizon is going to be integrating mobile payments along with American Express and other daily usage. The agreement that was put in place today will allow for wireless customers to make mobile payments straight from their mobile devices by utilizing their Serve account, which is the equivalent of PayPal which was opened by American Express a short time ago. It is clear that mobile devices are heading in the way of mobile payments, and agreements like this are going to be a part of making a mainstream technology in the future.

This is probably going to be one of many agreements that we see from companies in the very near future. As we inch closer toward a mainstream system for mobile payments, it is clear that companies like Verizon are looking to better and more easily put together a system that allows for them to open a mobile payment to as many of their users as possible.

Verizon to Add Mobile Payment Integration from American Express

The Serve system that American Express released earlier in the year is supposed to rival PayPal and open up mobile payments of more users through the American Express platforms. It will be interesting to see if they are able to will popularize the mobile payment platform through aggressive expansion moving forward. Putting an appropriate amount of time and effort into learning how to make mobile payments will definitely benefit users moving into the future, as it is clear that the mobile industry is heading toward mobile payments.

  • You may have recently heard that San Francisco was looking into the amount of radiation that is put out by cell phones. Behind a very high powered CTIA lobbying effort, the city was looking to enforce laws that rquire cell phone retailing companies to label the radiation SAR levels that were found by the FCC for each of the devices. These plans have been put on hold for the time being, but the city has said that they are still looking into how they can put together a watered down version of the bill to do the same thing.

What the city didn’t state was that the SAR levels that were measured by the FCC are not actually a good way to measure the amount of radiation for each cell phone because the number is found using a variety of tests. These tests do not include the amount of radiation that the end user would be exposed to through using the devices. This means that you could look to purchase a low SAR rated phone, but that does not necessarily mean that the end user will experience less radiation absorption than they would from phones with higher SAR levels.

The changes to the law have not been announced at this time, but you can bet that it will ore than likely require retailers to put the information somewhere in the store, instead of having to label each of the phones - which would require a great deal more time for each of the individual retailers. This is a good move in the eyes of most, because the SAR readings are not the best way to determine whether or not the end user is being exposed to more or less radiation in the end. This is another good example of the government clashing with big business and not truly understanding what they are actually asking of these companies.

  • Samsung Offers Hands On For Galaxy Tab
Posted on February 16, 2011 by Pure Mobile

The Unlocked Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 got a lot of attention at the World Mobile Congress, and hands on events were given to all of the major blogs within the space. The device is an amazing tablet, and may be the nicest on the market. The dimensions are ideal for tablet use, and the device itself looks great.

It comes with a 10.1 inch screen and a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution display. The rear facing camera is eight megapixel, making it more powerful than most camera phones on the market. It also has a 2 megapixel front facing camera that will allow you to video chat with loved ones and friends. It runs on a Tegra 2 processor, and will run on Android 3.0. Since Android 3.0 is still in its development stage, you can bet that things will be ironed out and the device will run even faster once the software version is finalized.

The refresh rate of the screens was great, and no lag was noticeable. Although Honeycomb is not released yet, it looks as though it will be a great operating system that should meet the demands of just about an tablet out there.

The 10 inch form factor screen is the perfect size for a tablet and makes it easy to transport from one location to another. the smooth design, perfect size and high powered specs have made the Samsung Galaxy Tab unlocked highly anticipated since it was first announced - and for a good reason - it is an excellent device that should compete with the iPad and other big tablet devices in the coming weeks and months. The eight megapixel camera surpasses expectations and the front facing camera seals the deal.

  • LG unlocked cell phone has allowed for several hands on reviews of their new Optimus Black and Optimus 2X devices. Just before the Consumer Electronics Show, it is clear that most companies will be looking to build hype for their devices and one of the most popular trends for this year is to allow hands on review of these devices.

The Optimus 2X was the star of the hands on review, featuring a NVideo Tegra 2 dual core processor that runs at 1GHz in each of the cores. It is a very powerful mobile device that should be at the forefront of pushing the envelope forward. And offering processors that are the strength that was normally reserved for computers. The graphics on the device looked great, as did the screen. It is able to handle all that is asked of it from Android and moves very smoothly from one screen to another. The HDMI out port looks great when it is connected to displays up to 42 inches in size and no quality is lost on the conversion.

The Optimus Black also received rave reviews. It’s 1 GHz OMAP3630 processor paled in comparison to the Tegra, but was still plenty powerful to run Android and all that it requires. It is much thinner than the Tegra, and as a result is much more light. It is a well-manufactured and designed device that fits comfortably in the pocket.

The Optimus Blacks were also running Froyo, which is a highly hyped version of the Android operating system that allows the device to connect to other Android devices and transfer files peer to peer through long range connections. It also has a front facing, 2 megapixel camera that allows you to video chat as has become popular with many other devices.

Overall, both devices looked great and provided the features that everyone was looking for, exceeding expectations in the case of the 2x.
