Though available in the United Kingdom since June, Dell Streak unlocked cell phone is yet to land itself in USA. But many users are not aware of what they have been missing as the Streak only runs on Android 1.6. But there is good news after all this, as it is expected that the Streak will be running on a superior version of the Operating System.
If you have already presumed that it’s the Android 2.2 Froyo, then you’re wrong. It’s the Éclair; Android 2.1– Google has the knack of coming up with catchy nicknames for their cell phone operating systems. Right now we don’t have the option to make a choice, because the Android 2.1 is after all an improvement from 1.6. Many users will be joyous about the features that the Éclair will provide them. The keyboard for example has undergone massive improvement.
The Éclair also takes social networking a [...]

This may just remain speculation for now but it is important and hence we think that one should know that the Nexus One Phone has finally got the capacity to be able to record video in High Definition 720p resolution. This device will record the video on the new CyanogenMod 6 Froyo ROM which has been installed in it. The latter is actually the greater news than the HD video recording as the capability for recording video in this quality is not really new for the Nexus One but it is actually the first time that this feature is being linked with the new CM6 Android 2.2 Froyo edition. This is something which is exciting for us. According to the news that we have got, this mod for Nexus One has only been made available for the CyanogenMod editions which are greater than the recent RC2 and therefore we need [...]

This although is something which we dearly needed, can get pretty annoying in the near future as the New York subways will soon be getting full cell phone connectivity along with WiFi within their network. Think this is impossible? Well no as the subways have recently signed a new deal with a company named Transit Wireless who have agreed to work with the NYC subway to install cell phone and WiFi receiver in certain tunnels of the subway system. Connections to the stations had already been made such that one could get cell phone connection in the stations but until now there was no connectivity in the sections of the network where the trains would go from underground tunnels. However now this will not be the case as there will not only be cell phones but WiFi connectivity in the tunnels. According to our findings, the costs for this entire [...]

From trekking through ‘difficult’ roads to carrying out GPS navigation that is ideal, the T-mobile Garminfone searches continually for price points that are partially lower. A recent reduction in the prices had left Garmin-Asus Garminfone at a contract price of $130 .This price is even lower than before. If one visits the market for an Unlocked LG EVE Android handset, the Garminfone is the best thing one can have for $100 when bought for 2 years contract.
There is a trick implemented by the dealers in order to be in an advantageous position as always. In order to get an extra $30 discount on $129.99 cost of the Garminfone, one has to be a T-mobile customer and has to sign a contract of 2 years with magenta. The purchaser also needs to sign the qualifying plan. A mail-in rebate of $50 is also given. Supposedly a person is presently a T-mobile [...]

Spirit and its manufactures were in the doldrums with falling profits, bleeding subscribers to Apple’s unlocked Iphone4 but it has changed quite a bit since the inclusion of the Sprint HTC EVO 4G. Spirit’s run at the markets and the smartphone industry seemed to be in tatters and their business almost to a dead end but for the latest HTC EVO 4G. Spirit had previously tried to fight its arch enemy, its nemesis Apple through various means, for example the device like the Palm Pre (which by the way was a total failure). Apple and its iPhone and their improved versions seemed just too hot to handle. But this new Android by Spirit has seemingly breathed life to the company. Sprint added 111,000 net customers for the second quarter of 2010.
The smartphone Sprint HTC EVO 4G has been clearly making waves. It’s been rumoured to become one of the best [...]

In an announcement to their premier customers Sprint released an account alert asking their customers to “visit us tomorrow for an exciting announcement about a groundbreaking new device.”  No other details were provided but it is rumored that that this “groundbreaking new device” is the long rumored WiMAX smarphone.  This new WiMAX smartphone known as the HTC Supersonic comes equipped with a 4.3 inch screen and Android 2.1 with Sense UI.
Releasing a 4G device would certainly fit the “groundbreaking” category and there have already been plans to unveil the phone at CTIA.  There was a web chat transcript that was found on the Sprint Community that seems to corroborate.  In this web chat an interested consumer asks customer support if a new Android device is going to hit the market soon.  The customer support rep does in fact confirm that a new smartphone device is going to be available very [...]

Everyone with an ounce of app development experience has come up with something for either the iPhone or the Android, and even the FCC is getting in on the fun.  The purpose of the app, according to their website, is to “provide Americans with additional information about their mobile data connection and create awareness about the mobile broadband connection quality.  While some people might understandably be concerned with an app designed by the Feds installed on their phone, all the app really does is monitor data upload and download speeds.  The FCC is set to release a new national broadband plan on 3/16, which will stress the need for improved cell phone data networks.

The data collected through this app will analyze geographical coverage and quality throughout the United States, essentially providing them an auditing tool for cell phone carrier claims and commercial coverage maps.  It will also, quite simply, allow [...]
