Incipio Feather Lumia 920 Cases all colors

You may not be able to find cases for Lumia 920 by the boatload like you can for iPhone 5 and Galaxy S4. But Nokia' flagship Windows Phone is nonetheless a great device and, if you know where to look, you can find some great accessories for it. Here, Pure Mobile is rounding up three of the best Lumia 920 cases, as we pay our dues to one of the best devices on the market.

For starters, Incipio shows that what's good for Apple is also good for Nokia, with a model of its Feather carrying case for Lumia 920. Like other incarnations of this slim and compact hard case, the Feather for Lumia 920 boasts a barely-there weight and modern minimalist design, along with all the protection you need to keep your phone safe from daily wear and tear.

Pictured above, the Feather for Lumia 920 comes in a slew of colors that range from more professional to fun and vibrant.

Another hard shell case, Nokia's own officially-branded Protective Cover case for Lumia 920 is the very definition of a custom-designed carrying case. Made to be a perfect match, it comes in all the same signature colors as the Lumia 920, so you don;t have to sacrifice the unique look of your favorite smartphone.

Finally, if you're the flexible type and prefer soft shell to hard shell cases, G-Zed Mobile's latest Lumia 920 case will probably be a perfect fit for you.

A swanky and modern skin made of high quality, flexible TPU, the G-Zed Mobile Skin for Lumia 920 combines a sleek, glossy finish with a smooth matte finish, and incorporates curved design elements for a unique and attractive look.

So whether you're looking for an officially-branded accessory, something soft and flexible or the most lightweight carrying case out there, these three offerings from Nokia, Incipio, and G-Zed are among the best Lumia 920 cases you can find.

  • iSkin Exo Galaxy S4 cases colors

With so many mobile accessories makers totally focused on making the next big accessory for Galaxy S4, you're bound to get a little overlap. And when it comes to carrying cases, there's not all that much room for variety, right? Not so, if you've seen the Exo, iSkin's latest and possibly best Galaxy S4 case to date.

Leave it to iSkin to do things a little differently. And with teh Exo, they totally have. Working with what's really a one-of-a-kind design centered around ridges that are easy to grip and offer up extra device protection, iSkin's managed to come out with Galaxy S4 acessory that seamlessly marries rugged practicality with a sophisticated look.

iSkin Exo Galaxy S4 Case in Pink iSkin Exo Galaxy S4 Case in Pink

Here's the lowdown. The ribbed structure of the Exo case helps to disperse impact energy, which means its extra effective in absorbing shocks that come with bumps and drops. Meanwhile, its bezel-style design offers screen edge protection, something not all carrying cases can boast.

But this iSkin Galaxy S4 case doesn't just stop at protecting your phone from hazards you can see. With its patented Microban surface treatment, the Exo actually claims anti-microbial protection, so the surface of the case stays clean of odor- and stain-causing microbes and fungus.

iSkin Exo Galaxy S4 Case in Blue iSkin Exo Galaxy S4 Case in Blue

But there's another side to the Exo we should mention. As iSkin puts it, "tough gets good looking" in the rugged sophistication of this carrying case. And a lot of effort has been put in here to give the Exo a cool, modern look.

Working on the priciple that "tough protection does not have to be bulky and unsightly," the Exo is surprisingly slim and compact for a case as protective as this. Boasting mix of high-gloss, brushed and perforated surface treatments, iSkin's come out with a look that's modern, high-tech and totally unique. And they're carrying in different colors too, from sophisticated black to more playful pink and blue.

Not only is the iSkin Exo a truly unique take on Galaxy S4 accessories that balances look with practicality and protection, it's probably the most effective and coolest Galaxy S4 Case iSkin has ever built. Now to see what they come up with next...

  • iEqualizer-case_iPhone_5 The iEqualizer case for iPhone 5: a kind of silly and pretty useless accessory

Here on the Pure Mobile blog, we like to bring you news about the best gadgets, including the coolest iPhone accessories we can find. We've seen all kinds of iPhone cases and skins in our day, from typical protective gear to more out there designs. Many are good in their own right. But hey, they can't all be winners.

Case in point: the iEqualizer case for iPhone 5 from Strapya World. To be honest, we aren't really sure why Mashable thought this silly and impractical case was worth writing up at all.

In fact, we don't even know why we're talking about it right now, except maybe to prove the point that we've perhaps gone a little too far with our mobile accessories.

The idea behind the iEqualizer iPhone 5 case is that it slaps a sound "equalizer" on the back that does a little light show in response to noise. Ok, sort of cool, I guess. But, as it turns out, the thing's not even a true equalizer.

As Mashable points out, "each of the bars isn't reacting to specific frequencies. Nay, it's just the whole array of blinkenlights reacting to any sound nearby." So, like, whatever.

That on its own isn't enough to really kill this case as a conceptual accessory. Yes, a light-up case could look pretty cool in a dark night club. But if it's just for show, we'd at least expect this iPhone case to look cool over all. But it doesn't.

This total disaster of an accessory actually adds a ton of bulk to your phone, making its thickness almost double. And, to make matters worse, it's got an idiotic-looking plastic appendage at the top, which Mashable says works as on on/off switch.

Seriously? They couldn't think of a way to integrate a button that performs the same function?

Why anyone would dream this up when there are so many great and great-looking iPhone 5 accessories already on the market is beyond us. Except the obvious attempt at a cash-grab, we can't even explain why this piece of garbage exists.

  • OtterBox Defender Case BlackBerry Z10

Any proud new owner of a BlackBerry Z10 is probably facing the same dilemma – having one of the newest phones on the market can make finding compatible accessories hard. Good thing, then that leading case maker OtterBox is already making fun new gadgets and accessories for BlackBerry Z10.

Just in at Pure Mobile, one of the most popular OtterBox carrying cases, the Defender, has arrived for Blackberry's first all-touch phone. The Defender is already among one of the top cases for both iPhone and Android devices, like the Galaxy S3. But, with the celebrated arrival of the new Z10, it only made sense for OtterBox to start making Blackberry carrying cases that offer the same level of protection.

As with the Defender models for other phones, this rugged accessory combines multiple layers for ultimate device protection, including a high-quality polycarbonate shell, a shock-absorbing silicone skin, and a clear screen protector.

OtterBox Defender case BlackBerry z10 layers The four layers of protection in OtterBox's Defender case for BlackBerry Z10

And, for no-fuss carrying, this super resilient OtterBox case also comes with a ratcheting belt holster that makes it easy to clip your phone someplace handy.

To be sure, it's always harder to find accessories when you've got the latest handset. And you probably won't find as wide of a selection of Blackberry Z10 covers and skins as you would carrying cases for iPhone or other devices that have been around longer. But at least the first Z10 accessories out there are bound to be the high quality stuff, as is the case with OtterBox's Defender.

Well-conceived and well-built, it's surprisingly slim and always reliable. And for protection from dust, drops, bumps and shocks, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better BlackBerry carrying case than the OtterBox Defender for Z10.

Apple iPhone 5 Cases and Accessories

It looks like Apple’s new iPhone 5 will be on the market in September or October 2012. From the rumors we’ve heard, it’s packing some big changes as well as improvements.   iLounge’s Jeremy Horowitz has published a couple of pictures of what the new iPhone might look like. They’re a great comparison between the new and the old.

I have observed the following 3 signs of an impending iPhone 5 market release:

    1. It seems that the black iPhone 4 stocks are low... similar to what we saw a few months ago with the diminishing white iPhone 4 stock levels.   Rumor has it that Apple has instructed dealers to provide customers with comparable iPhone 4S replacements.  Just like how the launch of the iPhone 4S meant the end of the iPhone 3G, the launch of an iPhone 5 would mean the end of the iPhone 4 and a price markdown for the iPhone 4S.
    2. Apple moves to acquire 'iPhone 5' domain name: While iPhone 5 rumours have been circulating since November last year, Apple has now decided to file a claim with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in order to get the domain iPhone 5.com. The complaint (Case number: D2012-0951) popped up on WIPO’s website just this week.
    3. Service providers along with other vendors such as Tiger Direct and best Buy slashes price of iPhone 4S & 4: Target is now discounting new iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S by $50 with a two-year contract. This brings the new prices in-store for the iPhone 4 8GB to $50 and the 4S 16GB to $150 (both AT&T and Verizon).

Please share other signs you think possibly hint to an impending iPhone 5 announcement in the comment section below.

View the following video for complete rumours on iPhone 5 specs and release date

The launch of the iPhone 5 will also drive lucrative after market accessories sales, where, brands like Incipio, Griffin, iLuv, who are all vying to be first to market with new cell phone accessories specially designed for the new iPhone 5.

While brands like iSkin and Incase continue to perfect their accessories which traditionally results in a typical 2-4 week delivery after the iPhone 5 is launched.

One thing remains sure... only those online accessory re-sellers, like Pure Mobile which has established  strong strategic alliances with key accessory brand manufacturers will be best positioned to be first-to-market and provide consumers with the latest iPhone 5 accessories.

The word on the street it that the new iPhone will have a 4-inch display, and it will be taller and thinner than the current iPhone 4S. It looks like the back side of the case will have a metal pane. It doesn’t look like it will cover the entire back of the phone, so this might not be the final word.

To make room for its thinner case, the new iPhone will have a new design for its dock connector. Third-party accessory manufacturers will be all over that change. If Apple is going in the direction of a smaller and thinner dock connector, they might be on a mission to making the iPhone incredibly thin.

With this new design, Apple still needs to do something with the 3.5 mm headset jack. Maybe they’re planning to eliminate it and go with Bluetooth and AirPlay streaming features.

For those of you loyal readers who have been following and reading my blogs.... you no doubt noticed my propensity to provide you with industry and market statistics and information.

Cell Phone Bathroom - IT in the Toilet

Keeping with this tradition, I came across a study - IT in the Toilet conducted by 11 Mark "View Infographic"... according to this report, we shouldn't be surprised if we hear a toilet flush in the background while on the phone with friends or colleagues; as a whopping 3 out 4 in America use their cell phones while in the bathroom.

Approximately the same number of men and women have used the phone in the bathroom, according to a survey of 1,000 Americans... although men seem more tethered to IT in the toilet: 30 percent of men versus 20 percent of women agreed with the statement, "I don't go to the bathroom without my mobile phone."

Since only 14% of respondents reportedly cleanse their phones after a toilet session...  I would highly recommend protecting both their devices and ultimately themselves with iSkin protective accessories' revolutionary  Microban technology.  Built-in to products during the manufacturing process, Microban antimicrobial product protection inhibits the growth of microbes such as bacteria, mold and mildew that can cause stains , embarrassing odors and deterioration of both cell phones and other mobile devices.

Check out the following video for in-depth information on Microban iSkin protective cases and skins.

More than half the surveyed users (63 percent) said they have answered a phone call in the bathroom, and almost half (41 percent) reported initiating a phone call. That's not all, however: What goes on behind the walls of the stalls is anything a mobile phone is capable of. Sixty-seven percent said they have read a text, and 39 percent have surfed the Web. Men work more from the bathroom—20 percent said they have participated in work-related calls, versus 13 percent of their female colleagues.

As expected, Gen Y respondents are the pacesetters in the "mobile everywhere" movement, with 91 percent using their phone in the bathroom. Still, older generations are not far behind. Eighty percent of Gen X reported using the phone in the bathroom, as did 65 percent of Baby Boomers and 47 percent of the Silent Generation.

While online, they are doing more than just surfing; 16 percent of Gen Y report they have made an online purchase while in the bathroom.  The study indicates that 87% of Droid users (Motorola Droid RAZR, Samsung Galaxy S 2, HTC Amaze, LG Optimus 2X) and 84% of Blackberry users (Bold 9900 Touch, Bold 9790 , Curve 9370) followed by  77% of iPhone users are particularly likely to browse and buy in the bathroom – 22 percent have made a purchase, versus 10 percent of Americans with mobile phones overall.

"The writing is on the stall," said 11mark principal Nicole Burdette. "This study confirms what we all know: that the last private place is no longer private."

Every brand and company has its shtick, its M.O., its press friendly sound bytes. Google is no different when espousing the virtues of its Google Android operating system at each event they are able to use a soapbox and spread their smartphone evangelism. The main gospel is the Android culture of openness and the lack of limitations is to the benefit of the consumer.

Google Not So Open – Changes on the Horizon?

This is great PR spin. And this writer truly loves a good euphemism laced with truth. So, while Android is more open that its competitors, it is comparative. When held up to open-source software like Linux, it is actually quite closed. Hence, a Hollywoodesque Benniffer moniker is bound to catch: Clopen.

At the moment, Google makes the Android OS source code available to companies and individuals to customize to their liking. Very open and transparent, non? Flip side of this coin is the Google mobile suite: Gmail, Android Market, Google Maps, and the long list of “Google” stamped functions. These are closed sourced. The double talk is confusing for customers. Especially when end users purchase a no-Market Android device. Not good PR.

Throw in the custom skins and fragmentations used by the varied carriers and manufacturers and there is a varying standard of quality for the smartphones bearing the Android and Google names. This is damaging to a brand. In fact, Marketing Land’s Danny Sullivan wrote that these quality control discrepancies are resulting in customers with outdated devices in their hands. This particular quirk can be addressed with accessories (protective cases, upgraded screen skins etc), but what is under the hood is harder to resolve.

Google Not So Open – Changes on the Horizon?

Case in point: the latest Android OS release, Ice Cream Sandwich. Various manufacturers have hedged and speculated about when the update would be available and on what phones and what carriers (at least with an unlocked phone, the customer will have more say in to get the latest Android OS). As of right now, only one physical device has the update on it. The flagship Android phone, Galaxy Nexus. Newer devices like the DROID RAZR, DROID Bionic, and the Rezound should see the update later in 2012, but there are many others like the LG Revolution (launched only 7 months ago) that will never get the ICS upgrade treatment because of the carrier (please see above note about unlocked phones!).

Luckily for customers, the Open Handset Alliance which encompasses major US players (LG, HTC, Motorola, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T to name a few) which has pledged with Google to bring an end to fragmentation and bring the latest Android OS to devices if the smartphone release is 18 months old or younger.
