  • American Airlines To Offer Galaxy Tab 10.1 To First ClassEver forgot your laptop or tablet when you get on a flight and wished that the airline provided one to you? Well now you might finally have the chance to live that little scenario out. American Airlines has announced that they are going to start providing the unlocked Samsung (Galaxy Tab 10.1) to their riders that are sitting in first class. This will be an option that is only going to be available on some of the longer flights that the company has to offer, but if it is a hit we could start seeing it more and more.

So far, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be available on flights from Los Angeles to New York, San Francisco to New York, Boston to Los Angeles and Also Los Angeles to Miami. This is the first airline to begin this practice, but if it is successful you can bet that they will not be the last. All of the flights that the tablet will be allowed on will be 757s. These tablets may or may not come loaded with various apps, that information has not been released at this time. They will probably not have internet access, and if they do it will probably be provided by the airline itself to make sure that the device does not mess with any of the dials and functions on the plane.

American Airlines To Offer Galaxy Tab 10.1 To First Class

So far more than 6,000 tablets have been ordered by the company in total, and American Airlines will also be offering their passenger’s access to their onboard WiFi, which many expected following the announcement of the tablets being offered to their first class customers. Hopefully they will be able to put some movies and music on the tablets as well to increase the potential for entertainment on the devices.

  • Samsung Ramps up Apple Patent DisputeSamsung looks as though they are not scared of Apple in the recent Apple patent dispute that has made headlines as of late. They did not take a break during the Memorial day weekend, and instead have ramped things up. First, Apple asked Samsung to hand over some of their upcoming products to Apple to ensure that patents were not being infringed upon and then they asked the judge that Apple be forced to do the same thing. This means that Samsung has gotten a look at the upcoming version of the Apple unlocked iPhone 4 and other products that Apple has coming forward.

Samsung has asked that they be allowed to get a look at the iPad 3 and also the iPhone 5. With the iPad 2 just having been released a short time ago, the company has not even started discussing the iPad 3 in public, so this move comes as a bit of a surprise. It will definitely be interesting to see how the Judge responds to the requests.

Samsung Ramps up Apple Patent Dispute

The problem initially started when the iPad and unlocked Galaxy devices looked very similar, which drew quite a bit of criticism and eventually led to a patent infringement suit. So far things seem to have gone Apple’s way but it looks as though Samsung is fighting back by getting a look at some of their most important upcoming devices. The war has waged on and has continued to progress since they first went to court.

Apple rejected the initial request, which most expected them to do but now it will come down to the decision that was made by the judge. He will get the final say in whether or not they get a look at the future devices. Apple has claimed that their future devices hold “no relevance” to the issue that is at hand.

  • Samsung Offers Hands On For Galaxy Tab
Posted on February 16, 2011 by Pure Mobile

The Unlocked Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 got a lot of attention at the World Mobile Congress, and hands on events were given to all of the major blogs within the space. The device is an amazing tablet, and may be the nicest on the market. The dimensions are ideal for tablet use, and the device itself looks great.

It comes with a 10.1 inch screen and a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution display. The rear facing camera is eight megapixel, making it more powerful than most camera phones on the market. It also has a 2 megapixel front facing camera that will allow you to video chat with loved ones and friends. It runs on a Tegra 2 processor, and will run on Android 3.0. Since Android 3.0 is still in its development stage, you can bet that things will be ironed out and the device will run even faster once the software version is finalized.

The refresh rate of the screens was great, and no lag was noticeable. Although Honeycomb is not released yet, it looks as though it will be a great operating system that should meet the demands of just about an tablet out there.

The 10 inch form factor screen is the perfect size for a tablet and makes it easy to transport from one location to another. the smooth design, perfect size and high powered specs have made the Samsung Galaxy Tab unlocked highly anticipated since it was first announced - and for a good reason - it is an excellent device that should compete with the iPad and other big tablet devices in the coming weeks and months. The eight megapixel camera surpasses expectations and the front facing camera seals the deal.

  • In this day and age,  fixed line phones have become understandably less popular. However, that doesn’t mean that businesses and some individuals are still not going to look for fixed line solutions. A Japanese telecom company called Nakayo recently announced that they will be releasing an IP Home Phone that comes complete with an integrated 7 inch Android tablet like Unlocked Samsung Galaxy Tab. This allows users to receive a call and pick up the handset in order to speak.

If you would like to make a call, all you have to do is pick up the handset and use the touch screen tablet device that is connected to the handset in order to make a call.  You also will not have to use the handset in order to make a call. Instead, you can take the tablet out of the device, walk around with it, and speak into the microphone, all while using the Android tablet to complete other tasks.

The tablet will be able to be used completely independently from the handset itself, and can also be used to browse the web. The tablet will also come with features, including a front facing video camera that will allow you to make video calls. The tablet feature Wi-Fi IEEE802.11b/g, with an exceptional touch screen that displays in 800x480 resolution and will feature a camera and a USB port.

The company will likely mostly target businesses with this device, since most individuals and homes are getting rid of their home phone and are not taking one on. It is an interesting device that could be the first in a line of many home phones that come complete with a tablet. The company has said that they hope to sell more than 30,000 devices within two years, but it is clear that this device, and similar devices, have the potential for much more.

  • The Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant is a device that has been highly successful for Samsung, so it would be a bit naive of them not to release an updated version of the smart phone. It, at this point, is a worldwide smart device that has been able to sell more than ten million units since it was released just over six months ago. Samsung also recently announced the Infuse 4G, which will be a US-only offering.

Now, the President of Samsung Mobile, JK Shin, has announced that the Galaxy S device will be receiving an updated release in February that will run on the new Gingerbread operating system and will also feature a dual-core operating system. This is great news for fans of the original Galaxy S, which ran very smoothly and was met with rave reviews from the mobile community. The dual-core addition to the device should make it extremely fast and will allow them to expand the number of apps and functionality available for the phone. So far they have not announced if the dual-core processor will be Tegra 2 or Orion.

The phone will also utilize the Super AMOLED Plus display technology that most fans got their first look at during the Consumer Electronics Show last week. Along with the announcement of the Galaxy S successor, Samsung announced they would be releasing plans for their Galaxy Tab tablet line for the upcoming year. You can bet that their new Super AMOLED Plus display technology will be included in the announcement, so you might want to hold off on that new tablet until you see what the Galaxy Tab unlocked is going to be able to offer. Samsung’s new display technology was met by amazing reviews at the Consumer Electronics Show, and it is nice to see that they are quickly adding it to some of their most popular devices in a re-release and update.

  • As if the unlocked Samsung Galaxy Tab had not already received enough attention for being the first legit iPad competitor, the company announced today that it would be launching a “Luxury Edition” of the device after a good first month of sales. Rogers Vice President Josh Boynton recently was quoted as saying that the tabs were “selling out as fast as they could get them in their stores,” and it has been tough for consumers to find the device for the holiday season. The Luxury Edition of the Samsung Galaxy will not be released in time for the holiday season, but it will give those that are looking for the tablet computer another version to consider.

There will be no changes made to the Luxury Edition in terms of specs, which really will not make it all that hot of a commodity given the price hike. It will have the same standard Android 2.2 software running on it, same size display and 1 GHz processor, but will come with a nice leather case as well as a Bluetooth headset specially designed for use with the Galaxy Tab.

The one big change will be in price. It will reportedly cost as much as $1,000, which seems to be well out of the budget of most consumers who are looking for a Galaxy tab unlocked from Samsung. It is interesting that the price hike would be as steep as it is  when the only additions to the device will be a case and Bluetooth headset. It will be interesting to see how consumers respond. Most of them should realize that they can purchase their own case and headset for a much lower price than is being offered here by Samsung. Either way, it means that Samsung will be ramping up their production of the device, which should make it more accessible for those that have had a hard time finding it so far.

  • Apple may have paved the way with the release of the iPad, but now Samsung is getting into the tablet device game with the release of their Unlocked Galaxy Tabs, which have garnered a lot of attention from tech blogs and other media today. The company confirmed today that their device has been able to sell more than 600,000 copies across the world.

Powered by Android, The Galaxy Tab is the first successful tablet device that utilizes the Android technology and has access to the Android app store. It is the most popular Android tablet in the world following this announcement, and the tablet is only expected to grow in popularity in the coming weeks and months.

Samsung is undoubtedly pleased with the sales figures of the device throughout the first month. Although they came no where close to matching the figures that Apple was able to post with the iPad, it shows that there is an international market for other companies to produce tablet computers, even if they are likely unable to compete with Apple in the US market. In Korea, the home market for the company, they were able to sell more than 30,000 devices during the first week of its availability in the country.

Apple is also launching their iPad device in Korea. So far, residents of the nation have been able to preorder the device for a week and Apple has already recorded more than 40,000 preorders, and it looks as though Apple will be able to outsell Samsung in their home market, a market that Samsung hoped that they could capture with an early release of their own tablet device. It will be interesting to see how quickly Samuang tries to spread the device to other markets and locations, and in which countries they are able to compete with Apple.

  • Motorola MOTOPAD – Android 3.0
Posted on November 17, 2010 by Pure Mobile

According to a leading cell phone mobile blog, Motorola has been chosen to show their upcoming tablet friendly version of Google’s OS.  This is much like when Motorola helped Google acquire Android 2.0 with the unlocked Motorola Milestone Droid.  Now it is pretty much in charge with the same task.

There have not been a lot of details to go along with this recent newsworthy story, but it was released that Motorola’s upcoming Android 3.0 tablet will be 7 inches.  This will not be much to get people excited about, but it certainly is a sneak peak about things to come.  It should be interesting to see how everything unfolds with this story.  I am sure that more information will be released about Motorola showcasing their version of Google’s OS.  There has not even been a date given when this will happen yet.  A lot of people assume that there should be some type of meeting with all of this news with other releases that take place.  When we hear about when it will take place, we will make sure to let you know to give you a heads up about it.  There really are not a whole lot of details about this yet since it is fairly new.  Obviously, there will not be a ton of details.  That is just a given – common sense.

All we know right now is that Google specifically chose MOTOPAD as the first device to show Android 3.0, and that the device will be 7 inches.  So yeah, this may not be the most thrilling news, but it does give you even more reason to keep your ears open about more news to come.  I am sure that there will be some type of meeting given where people can show up and watch the showcase of this happening.

  • Samsung Orion Spotted
Posted on November 16, 2010 by Pure Mobile

Even though chips are not the most popular thing to talk about at the cool kids lunch table, this article would definitely be worth reading.  Many people would think that this would just be some ordinary, average chip – but really, it’s not.  It is much more than that actually.  The Orion has a dual core 1 GHz ARM Cortex A9 CPU with a quad-core Mali 400 GPU on board.  This was seen at the ARM Technology Conference sometime this week when they were showing “Linaro” Linux middleware, along with some stock Android 2.2 technology.

All of the bugs were not worked out with the Samsung Orion, so they were not able to show what a HDTV would look like with it.  However, there was a demo given of Futuremark’s old Cyber Samurai benchmark which was running on a smaller screen.  This gave people a good idea of what this chip was capable of.  Many people were quite impressed as you might of guessed.

The news keeps getting better.  There are also a lot of rumors going around that this chip will be in other products later this year into next year – and years to come.  People are really expecting this chip to help out other products, so there is a lot of excitement at this point.  Rumors have it that this will most likely end up in some other type of flagship phone soon such as the next Unlocked Galaxy Tab.  There is no word when all of the kinks will be worked out on this chip where people can be shown what a HDTV would look like with it, but they have been working non-stop on it over the past few days to get it fixed.  Pretty soon, we will get to see all of the capabilities that this chip possesses; there’s a lot to look forward to.
