Moshi for iPad
  • iPad 2 Review
Posted on March 9, 2011 by Pure Mobile

The iPad 2 is already one of the most popular products of 2011, and it hasn’t even been released yet. The new device will feature a 1 GHz dual core A5 chip and cameras that were not included on the original version of the iPad 2. The CPU, all in all, will be up to two times as fast as the hardware from the original and Apple has claimed that the graphics performance will beup to nine times better than it was on the original iPad and iphone 4 unlocked, giving users access to play more advanced games on their tablet device.

Power requirements for the device have also remained the same. Your battery life will be just as long as it previously, which is good news because the battery life of the original iPad was one of the best selling points.

The device will start at $499 for 16 GB Wi-Fi only, and will go all the way up to $829 for the WiFi that comes complete with 3G connections and 64 GB of storage. One of the biggest features of the new iPad is the inclusion of an HDMI output that is capable of delivering images up to 1080p, which is a feature that many users were hoping would be included in the second version of the popular tablet device.

The new iOS 4.3 will be better suited for use on tablet devices, and many new apps will be made available during the launch including the heavily promoted iMovie and GarageBand, which should give users audio and video editing controls that have never before been available on the iPad, unlocked iphone 4 and other tablet devices.

The iPad 2 is highly anticipated, and so far it looks as though the iPad 2 will be living up to the hype based on what has been shown so far. Look for Apple to have another trick or two up their sleeves for the official launch, as they usually do.

  • Apple is always looking for ways to improve their existing products in an effort to keep up with the market. With more high powered devices boasting about the life of their batteries, Apple is scrambling to find ways to increase the battery life of their unlocked iphone 4, ipad, ipod. In a recent patent filing, that was titled Increasing Energy Density in Rechargeable Lithium Battery Cells, the patent describes technology that Apple is experimenting with. According to the way that it was described in the filing, the new technology would allow them to increase the capacity of the battery without changing the size or the amount of time that it takes to charge the battery.

Essentially, the change would go unnoticed to most consumers, but would greatly improve the life of the battery. Apple’s mobile devices have always had a fairly impressive battery life when you compare them to other smart devices that are currently in the market. It would be interesting to see how far Apple can take the new design and exactly how much extra battery life it would provide most of the users.

As more phones become high powered, it is hard to create batteries that will fit inside of the device and not have to diminish the power of the battery. No one wants to have to charge their phone halfway through the day, but as the battery is continually used, the overall effectiveness will slow down, which is something that Apple is looking to put a stop to with a new design.

Apple’s iPhone 4 unlocked is still one of the best smart devices in terms of battery life, but an upgrade would really put them ahead of most of the competition and would be a great thing for future generations of the highly popular phone. As Apple continues to innovative to improve upon their design, it seems as if the media is always a step behind their moves, as this technology was not discussed until the patent leaked.

  • Google Instant caused a huge splash when it was first released. The very idea of receiving real time updates as you typed in your search query scared the search engine optimization community and intrigued users. In the beginning, it was not clear if the feature would stick around after some users complained about it, but through the process of fine tuning the feature, Google has been able to put together a solid incarnation and will allow users to finally utilize Google Instant on Apple iPhone’s and other iOS devices. The Instant Previews feature is the only thing that we will be seeing on the unlocked iPhone 4 for the time being.

The Google Instant Previews feature allows you to take a look at the look and layout of a Google search result page before making any kind of decision to visit the page. The feature has already been used on desktops for quite some time, and will work on the mobile devices in the same way that it always has for the desktops.

Flipping from one preview to another will be as simple as moving through the thumbnails in the Safari browser. The new feature will be very convenient for Google and will allow Google to better serve mobile users who are notoriously tired of having to settle for outdated versions of their favorite search engine on their mobile devices.

Perhaps the best part about this update is that there will be no download required. Google will slowly make the feature available to all users as they continue to test, unleashing the feature to select groups at a time. If you are in a rush to see the Google Instant Preview feature on your iPhone 4 unlocked handset, there is really nothing you can do but sit back and wait for the company to roll it out to you. So far there is no sign up process that allows you to opt in early for Google Instant Preview.

  • The History of the Verizon iPhone 4
Posted on January 14, 2011 by Pure Mobile

The unlocked iPhone 4 has been long rumored to be on its way to Verizon. Of course, this took a lot longer than most expected, but now that is official we have some time to go ahead and take a look back at the history of the deal and how it finally came together. We know that both companies had discussed the move over the last few years, but because the newest iPhone’s did not live up to expectations of Verizon, there was no rush to keep the deal in place.

The deal first came together at the end of last year and was put together by Verizon President Lowell McAdam and Apple COO Tim Cook. Both of them had worked through the specifics of the deal over the course of a few weeks leading up to it. The commercial aspect of the deal reportedly only took about one day to finalize. The biggest issue between the two companies was releasing an iPhone version that would run on the Verizon network. Apple also wanted Verizon to put some towers at the Apple HQ building so that they could monitor signal strength and also look for reliability issues. That reportedly hung up the deal for quite some time.

As a result of the most recent deal, both of the companies have agreed to share their knowledge regarding updates with both companies so that they can better work together to bring the consumer base devices that they truly want and are looking for. Verizon will convey their network plans to Apple so that they can better suit their devices for the Verizon network, and Apple will let them know ahead of time about upcoming device plans so that Verizon can prepare as well. Verizon also had to agree to not put their logo on the iPhone 4 unlocked device when it was released. The sales are going to be through the roof, that much is known.

  • As of right now, employees of Apple are no longer allowed to use their vacation hours in an attempt to brace for an upcoming event that has not yet been named by Apple. Could this be the famed launch of the Verizon iPhone? Some experts have speculated so, but at this time there is no hard evidence to suggest that this could be the case.

The freezing of all vacation hours will reportedly start at the end of the month in January, and will apply to all retail employees that do not have seniority with the company. The fact that they are only locking down the retail employees suggests that they are expecting a huge retail release around that time. With the iPad already out, and no other devices announced, there is really nothing else that it could be other than a new unlocked iPhone 4 launch.

This also means that Apple could be expecting to announce the new launch at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show, where all eyes will be on Apple to see if they make any huge announcements. Although they have given no clue that they are planning on making the Verizon iPhone announcement, it seems to make the most sense for the company, logically.

A Verizon iPhone launch announcement would pretty much overshadow any other announcements that come at the Consumer Electronics Show. With the freezing of employee vacations coming just a bit into the future, it will be interesting to see what kind of announcement they end up making. A freezing of employee vacations in retail is only something that is done when they know that something time consuming is on the horizon. The Verizon iPhone 4 unlocked launch would effectively be the biggest tech announcement of the year for the most popular device in the world. The announcement has been long awaited and will satisfy many users.

  • Mac App Store hands-on!
Posted on January 7, 2011 by Pure Mobile

As per one of the leading unlocked cell phone blog site, with the success of the mobile app market, it is no surprise that Apple would want to expand a similar structure to their desktop systems as well. The company offered hands on for their new Mac OS X 10.6.6 operating system which is featured in the App Store for Macs.

When you first open up the store, you will have to accept a new terms and agreements package that does limit your rights a little bit more than the previous offering - but not too much. You enter your Apple ID and password and then you are taken to the marketplace.

As far as layout goes, it is very much like that of the unlocked iphone 4 App Store. Similarly, there are buttons that allow you to see featured apps, the top apps across all charts, different categories, and then the apps that you have previously purchased as well as the updates that are available for them.

To make a purchase in the marketplace all you have to do is click the button that has the price of each of the apps. Overall, it has been very easy to use so far and has ran very smooth. This will allow users to install many of their favorite games from their Apple devices right on their desktop computer including popular titles like Angry Birds, and other utilities that would normally be reserved for your mobile device.

Although you will still have to purchase programs for the Mac outside of the app store, the ease of purchasing new apps for your desktop provided by this new update should be welcomed by most users. It is not currently clear if Apple wills tart to offer more advanced apps and programs for the desktop through their store, but either way this is a very good introduction to a system that is based on the success of their previous app stores.
