Hacker claims theft of 50GB of credit card data stolen from 79 major banks

The hacker known as Reckz0r proclaimed that he had illegally accessed these banks’ servers, and he provided the confidential data to prove it.  Reckz0r boasted that he was only showing only a portion of the data stolen, and the full amount is “about 50GB or bigger” taken from “over 79 large banks.”  He also said that he had been working on his project over the last three months.

The international credit card processing company Global Payments confirmed back in March that hackers had stolen the credit card numbers of as many as 1.5 million MasterCard and Visa customers. No one is saying whether this new data leaked by Reckz0r was part of the earlier breach.

ASUS unveiled its ASUS Transformer AiO at this year’s Computex trade show in Taiwan. The Transformer AiO is a tablet with a touchscreen display that’s also an all-in-one computer. It’s a dual- boot device that runs both the Windows 8 OS and Google’s Android 4.0.

The “transforming” tablet sits in a dock and acts like a computer with a giant 18.4-inch display, a mouse and a keyboard. Pop the touchscreen out of the base, and you’ve got a tablet in your hand. But, it’s a tablet with a difference - it isn’t a standalone device like the others in its category. In tablet mode, it has to stay in range of the pc base.

As innovative as Transformer AiO is, ASUS still has work to do on it. For instance, the display kicks over to Android as soon as it’s undocked. Even detached from the base, the display is supposed to function as a wireless screen for the pc. Switching away from the Windows OS shouldn’t happen automatically.

ASUS has yet to announce all specifications for the Transformer AiO, but we do know that the docking base features multiple USB 3.0 ports, ethernet and an optical drive. The screen is LED backlit and supports up to 10-point multitouch.

The latest Apple buzz indicates that the next-generation iPhone will feature an upgraded high-definition 3.95-inch Retina display. Apparently Apple is still testing several new iPhone models, but at least one of the samples includes an upgraded 640 x 1,136-pixel Retina display that measures 3.95 inches diagonally. The current iPhone 4S has a 960x640 resolution and 3.5-inch screen.

With an aspect ratio of close to 16:9, the new Retina display is said to be the same width as the current model only taller. Apple is apparently considering adding a fifth row of icons to the home screen in a version of iOS 6.  This would probably be exclusive to the new iPhone since it will be the only one with a larger display.

This news contradicts last week’s reports from both The Wall Street Journal and Reuters, which stated that Apple had already placed orders for the new iPhone model with its new display panel suppliers. Panel orders could not yet have been placed if Apple is still testing display sizes.
