  • Samsung Galaxy S Event
Posted on July 11, 2010 by Pure Mobile

Samsung  Corporation unveiled the new Unlocked  Galaxy ( X series ) of Android devices recently. Quite a party was held to celebrate the release of this series. The event was dark, there were limitless drinks, and the food was great, catering to the needs of a hungry crowd. The main attraction of the evening, however, was, the new Galaxy S devices, for each U.S. carrier.

The most significant feature of these phones is Samsung’s Super AMOLED display. The special characteristic of this display is that there is a high contrast of black and white, which looks spectacular, has bright colors, and the display seemed even better than the iPhone 4’s display. Guests had the chance to hold the Unlocked  iPhone4 and an AMOLED display set side by side to compare the two. Even though the resolution and crispness of the iPhone 4’s display is far superior to that of the AMOLED display, the AMOLED display looks much better from 2 feet away, and that is exactly the distance at which we hold our phones. So, the Galaxy S devices were better. But guests could not take the Galaxy S devices up to the roof and conduct a sunlight test. But there is evidence that the Galaxy S devices’ display is the best compared to other Android phones, when brought under sunlight.

The Samsung’s Unlocked  Galaxy S phones are fast and gorgeous. But there is one downside to them. Despite being such high-end phones, they still had that cheap plastic feel that is common to Samsung phones. This put their strength and rigidity under doubt. The phones coming under this doubt were the Captivate, Fascinate and Vibrant, as they were all very thin phones.

The Twilight Saga series of stories has gripped the world by storm, especially women, who are spellbound by it. So naturally, game developers are trying their level best to cash in on this opportunity. GameHouse has finally managed to launch two games which are inspired from Twilight saga in a number of mobile devices. The lists of phones, which have been subjected to these games, include the Apple Unlocked iPhone 4.

The first game, which is called the Memory Quest, offers three different game modes of Memory and Match-3 game play, and each corresponds to a movie in the Twilight Saga franchise. By and by as you progress in the game, you match tokens; you will unlock scenes or images from the movies. You will be proceeding from level to level after that Power ups are also available or the Wolfpack Tattoo, and with their help progress through the levels. This game contains more than 90 levels of difficulty.

The second game is the Twilight Saga- Eclipse Movie game. This game allows the players to relive their best and favorite moments from the Twilight Saga: Eclipse film, by way of a quiz game. Popular characters from the Saga like Bella, Jacob, Alice and Edward. There are 21 characters you can choose from, in Survival Mode. In Survival Mode, the player either answers the questions alone, or by competing with his/her friends, by using the pass and play. You can play with up to four friends. There are many game types, such as “Who Am I?” and players compete for the best possible score. There are almost 500 questions, numerous picture puzzles and Perfect Pairs.

They are a very good means of passing your time, and especially for the womenfolk, these games can present to you your beloved Twilight Saga from a whole new angle.

  • In rather disturbing news for Apple’s Unlocked iPhone4, it has been discovered that iTunes have been hacked into. This has caused widespread chaos as it may lead to rather unfortunate circumstances. It is especially of concern to people who have important files in there. It might be lost to the hackers who might use them for their own use, which can be devastating.

It is of high importance that you log in to iTunes and change your password just to be on the safe side. There might be people who have their credit card on file, which if lost to the hackers may have disastrous consequences. The news has already sent everyone into panic. Such an unfortunate event could not have been predicted in any way and has been highly criticized. However, the fact remains that this has happened and it has to be dealt with and if you think this can affect you, and then you must definitely change your password at the earliest.

So far the iPhone and iPad have been left untouched. The hackers have been identified as certain Asians who have a well drawn out plan to utilize the resources they have hacked into in the best way possible. They have innovative ideas, which can be particularly dangerous. They are believed to be devising applications themselves and buying those themselves in order to make them popular. Besides this, they are also involved in laundering money through Apple. These plans can have far reaching effects and this shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

Right now, take care of the new iPhone4 Unlocked Handset and remember to be wary of any unsecured softwares that might be downloaded. It would be a wise choice to go and get your password changed and remove any important file that may be of interest to you as you can guess that they are of importance to the hackers as well.

  • Free Palms-best offer ever
Posted on July 9, 2010 by Pure Mobile

Marketing plays an enormous role in a company’s ascent towards a brighter tomorrow and the best of these organizations provide us with the best of deals. As the company grows in stature, the deals offered gets smarter and concerned company gets even more flexible and all the less stingy. And talking of flexible, the latest wow offer in the market is HP providing for Palm Pre and Palm Pixi sets to those who avail AT&T and Verizon. This is absolutely splendid break of events for those who wanted a taste of Palm after it became a part of HP. Can the offer be more attractive? And to top it all Verizon faithful with Unlocked Palm Pre Plus will be granted a free Bluetooth headset. Sprint clients will not have any such exclusive offers at hand and will have to cough up almost hundred dollars for Pre and more than ten bucks for Pixi.

As the various world powers in technology push for better updates and move forward with the requirements of a better tomorrow, HP is right up there with the elites. As an appended bonus to the free unlocked cellphones, HP is all set to launch its webOS 1.4.5. Although critically speaking it is only a small update to its previous running version, it does mends and improvises where the former failed to gain ground. It fixes some of the more controversial elements such as text inputs when it comes to web pages. It also strengthens the security by quite a bit, which was a major issue in its former running version and forms better support and stability for webOS plug-in Development Kit.

In all possibilities, this is the new talked about hardware from Palm, with the better and improved version of webOS. It is clear that HP is in all intent clearing away their stocks to make room for the new ones. So it would be exciting to see what exactly is in store for us.

  • If you happen to be a Blackberry Smartphone’s fan and have remained loyal to the brand in spite of the presence of other better and technologically more advanced smart phones then it’s time for you to smile because you have the British royal family as company. The royal family is said to be addicted to their Blackberry’s and even the Queen is an ardent fan of the device. The frenzy surrounding the brand is not a rare phenomenon and in recent months it has encircled almost entirely on the soon to-be launched Blackberry Curve 9300. Various rumors about the features and date of launch have been leaked in the Internet adding to its appeal. But it seems like the wait for the highly anticipated Blackberry Curve is about to be over soon because it has earned its broadcast license from the FCC which includes support for both its CDMA and AWS devices.

The rumors and mostly false information about the Blackberry Curve 9300 has shrouded it in mystery leaving an enthusiast confused about its various features. For example certain very basic details about the device which is code-named “Kepler” like whether it has 256 MB or 512 MB of application memory or whether it will be launched with OS 5 or OS 6 is still unclear. Other details like whether the camera will be increased to a 3.2-mega pixel also cannot be said without a doubt. Although it is expected of T-Mobile to pick up the 9300 device, as to which carrier will take up the CDMA 9300 cannot also be confirmed.

From the initial pictures that were leaked in the Internet, the device seemed to look like its predecessors, the 8500 series. In fact the device is similar in design to the Unlocked Blackberry Curve 8520 with a 2.4-inch screen and a QWERTY keyboard courtesy classic Blackberry. However the fans will be eagerly waiting to see if the 9300 is after all as the critics say, only an iterative advancement. But renowned for its strong email capabilities and taking into consideration all the added features that this device is said to incorporate the Blackberry Curve 9300 doesn’t seem like something that is going to let you down.

  • When the new broadcasters broke off into being their usual dramatic selves and informed us with the breaking news that the T mobile GarminPhone hasn’t been doing well in the market, no one was shocked. It was as if it was expected to flunk, plummet in the market. It’s become transparent that no one wants a relatively limited GPS centric handset, even if it might be running on the Android technology.

On your TV screens, in advertisements or on the paper the GarminPhone will sweep you off your feet with its sleek snazzy looks.  But the features that they offer are quite modest to say the least. The model sports a 3.5-inch capacitive touch screen, 3-megapixel camera with no flash, 3G, Wi-Fi and a microSD slot. These features are all there and much better in the other smartphones such as the Motorola Milestone so this GarminPhone doesn’t really offer anything new or groundbreaking.

But it does provide with a sleek new feature, which enables its users to give away their own navigational device and rely on the GarminPhone navigational facilities.  Before its release there was a lot of talk about the classy navigational features and a lot of din was made by the retail shopkeepers, but since its launch not a very many shops have shown a lot of interest in marketing the product realizing that navigational technology installment inside a smartphone didn’t make it a cut above the rest.

The main reasons why the GarminPhone couldn’t bite into the market were because people were already using the Android 2.0 ( Google Nexus One Unlocked ) technology, which allowed for Google navigation which is a free turn by turn navigational facility. Though the disadvantage of Google is that it doesn’t work without cell connectivity but most users are comfortable with it and it would take a lot more work from the GarminPhone makers to get themselves some share of customers.

  • The initial order for the new Motorola Milestone Unlocked Droid ( X )had quite a stock shortage. But now the ‘Best Buy’ has stated that Motorola are again taking pre –orders for this Droid X version on Verizon. This pre-ordering has been started just recently. Best Buy has also informed us that there is still no specific launch date that has been fixed for this model but sources are pretty confident that it will be around the 15th of this month. Verizon has presented an offer for its customers. It is allowing them to switch to pre ordering of the Droid X model if they have already jumped ship to the HTC Droid Incredible model.

The new model has a commanding screen space of 4.3” 854 x 480-touch screen. This Droid X model has a 2.1 GHz processor with an HDMI-out. Also in its arsenal is the 8 megapixel camera and dual LED flash 720p video recording facilities, a closer inspection reveals that much of its specifications and features have a striking similarity with another model of theirs- the HTC EVO 4G. Only major difference being that the Verizon provides a much better coverage than that of the Sprint’s WiMAX.

The Droid is being launched with an initial price tag of $199. This will be done on a two-year contract with that of the Verizon Company.

Though the Droid X promises a lot but this Android powered Smartphone will have its work cut out as it will face a lot of competition from other upcoming Smartphone’s. It will be under a lot of pressure to perform effectively to outdo the new Apple IPhone 4 that’s also going to be launched this time of the year. Not only the iPhone, but also the Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S phones or the EVO 4G will give the Droid X model with its packed inventory of smart features a run for its money.

  • This is probably the worst thing that could have happened to Verizon. It had planned a business strategy to ensure more profit, but it backfired very badly. Verizon had decided that it would increase its ETF (Early Termination Fees) for its handsets, and make it $350. This motion was taken last year. But Verizon forgot that no one likes ETFs. Verizon customers were positively fuming at this ploy, and this plan didn’t impress any of Verizon’s fans at all. So, the state of California decided to uphold an appeal against Verizon. The state of California decided that this fee was unfair to customers, and decided to appeal in favor of the users. As a result, Verizon will now have to pay $21 million as settlement fee. It will have to award refunds to 175,000 customers.

Both Verizon and AT&T have very high fees. So, signing a contract and committing to an ETF is a very tricky thing for them. They charge $350 and $325 respectively. They are so money-minded, that it would seem that even after you die, Verizon would want to collect its termination fees. There is one thing these carriers can do to cope with these changes. They can charge a lower fee each month, and start a contract. Therefore, if the user decides to leave, then the user’s cost will be prorated.

Although this whole thing may seem to be a win for customers, there is nothing to be very happy about. It does not look like things are going to be improving, any time soon in the near future. The cellphone carriers claim that there is only one way they can offer such heavy subsidies. They can only do this by ensuring that the ETFs are in place. This is a precaution they must take, if, just in case a customer tries to run with a smartphone, 2-3 months into the contract.

  • The Unlocked  iPhone 4 was long-awaited by people all over the globe. It is a phone which is feature-packed to the brim, and its camera was the finest in its class. The camera is a 5 megapixels, with a LED flash. The camera can shoot videos in high definition, and the flash can stay on while videos are being shot with it. But people are still in doubt regarding the iPhone 4’s camera capabilities.

It seems that the iPhone 4’s camera is having some yellowing issues with its photos. Images shot with the iPhone 4 camera in indoor lighting and without any flash sometimes have a yellow or green cast to them. The same photo taken with a 3G camera is not having these problems.

It is still not clear how many of the unlocked iPhone 4s handset  are having the same problem, but if the problem is widespread, then it will be a major concern for Apple. People were excited when they first learnt that Apple was going to upgrade its phone to 5 megapixels. Apple’s main aim was to make the light sensors better for low-light pictures. But now, if all these pictures are going to come in yellow, then it’s all a useless effort on Apple’s part.

Apple’s smartphone launch has been plagued by bad omens right from the very beginning. It has seen many problems with the phone. The major problem that first cropped up was the reception issue. The iPhone 4, with all its high-tech gadgetry, had reception problems that made users fumed. But Apple has said it has looked into the matter, and will be introducing a software update within a few weeks.

But despite all these problems, people are still crazy about the iPhone, and still want to get one. On its launch weekend itself, Apple shipped out 1.7 million units. But still it was not enough to meet customer demands. More and more people want the iPhone 4 Unlocked handset. Hopefully, the crazy fan-following of the iPhone 4 will still persuade buyers to invest in one, and turn a blind eye to its camera problems.
