  • BlackBerry Playbook Jail Broken
    Posted on December 6, 2011 by Pure Mobile

    By Aldo Panessidi

    Unlocked cell phone? Good. International usage. Saves the consumer money.  Jail broken OS? Bad. Major security concern that creates gaps for hackers to steal information as it is in one of the three states: At rest. In Motion. In use. Translation? Information shared or consumed on your smartphone is vulnerable anytime, anywhere.

    BlackBerry Playbook Jail BrokenRIM has a great reputation through its BlackBerry products for ironclad operating systems that kept messages sent over their network secure and encrypted as well as for their overall device security. These glowing features are why BlackBerry cell phones and PlayBook tablets are so widely used throughout the worlds of commerce and government -including Barack Obama - the President of the United States.

    For the sake of security, let’s hope that President Obama isn’t using a BlackBerry Playbook as it appears the latest and greatest RIM OS being used on the device has proven to be jail breakable. Hence, vulnerable to information “borrowing.”  Turn your mobile into Power Tools with the latest technological advanced accessories.

    Anyone remotely following the mobile industry has likely heard the troubles of the bruised giant, RIM, the past year as it scrambles to keep pace with its competition. The result is an operating system that is more powerful and capable than its predecessors. It also has proven to have an Achilles heel where hackers have the holes to hack, break and manipulate what their predecessors have not been able to.  Evidently a first in RIM history and an unfortunate blight on their impressive record.

    As the tablet market is still dominated by Apple and their user groups are well aware of the sport hackers make of breeching their iOS, this news may seem paltry to the traditional RIM user.  But going forward this same BBX OS is what RIM BlackBerry smartphones will be runs on!  Discover the latest accessories for all your Blackberry devices.

    BlackBerry Playbook Jail Broken

    There are an exponentially increasing number of incidents of malicious code being written to ferret out information - relative to feed the insatiable appetite of the multi-billion dollar black market data stealing.  Consumers today are in dire need of innovative protection solutions and premium electronic  accessories, antivirus protection, back-up and storage considerations.

    If RIM doesn’t address the serious flaw in the BBX OS, their greatest market differentiator and credibility will be compromised to their largest consumer groups: government and enterprises. In a wild Wild West age, information truly is power and tangibly destructive as Julian Assange and Wikileaks globally demonstrated earlier this year.

    My guess is President Obama will forfeit a little performance for peace of mind and eschew BBX until a fix is found.

  • HTC – The Quietly Brilliant Story
    Posted on November 30, 2011 by Pure Mobile

    By Megan Fleet

    In an era where patents are sold and bought  like commodities in lieu of protecting intellectual rights;  and where mall innovators are snapped up for their technological visions and execution, - HTC is a wonder to behold.  The rising star of the smartphone world has « arrived. »

    Ten years ago HTC couldn’t even be considered a boutique cell phone to set yourself apart from the mundane crowd of Motorolas and Nokias. It was, however, a company earning its chops manufacturing hardware for Windows Mobile-powered devices for household names like Compaq and XDA.  Now HTC is manufacturing the Raider, Amaze and Desire line of cell phones coupled with a plethora a innovative protective solutions and premium electronic accessories

    HTC's big break came in 2008 : with the Android. The Dream and G1, which launched the brand into the periphery of the ever growing smart phone consumer market.  Its years as a technological innovator for Windows helped carve a niche and secure a market notoriety for cell phone and mobile accessories.

    The following video provides an excellent account of The Quietly Brilliant Story of HTC

    Throughout the years there has been escalating competition in particular from Samsung cell phones.   But as any good capitalist knows, a competitive environment spurs creativity and innovation. And, as any informed consumer knows, also keeps costs competitive thanks to vendor agnostic retailers such as puremobile.com where the buffet of unlocked cell phone and mobile devices can be sampled, reviewed, and easily paired with practical yet fun wireless accessories.

    HTC is an underdog with elegant and smart technology that marries performance and beauty into something intuitive and tangible for a memorable end user experience. Translation? HTC is a rising star .  They may have lost the dominant Android market share to Samsung but the recent performance and successes of Sensation and EVO 3D will pair with upcoming jewels like the Ville and sharp music accessory bundles (without the proprietary encumbrance of Apple’s iTunes) for a bright 2012.

    Accessories make great stocking stuffers for the tech savvy Android aficionado in your life, take a gander at some great holiday accessory deals at puremobile.com!

    The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is a pure Android cell phone which comes packed with a 4.0 OS based features and applications coupled with a grand view 4.5 inch display.   who among us doesn't like to see smartphones put through the ringer... from the drop test to the puree speed blender test.

    The people of iFixit (http://www.ifixit.com) live for these type of testing.  recently they tore down, ripped apart and did other nasty things to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.   After the dust settled the Galaxy Nexus was awarded with 'Repairability Score' of 6 out of 10 (with 10 being the easiest to repair).  At times like this we are grateful for cell phone accessories that designed to protect, personalize and enhance your mobile devices.

    The Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4.5-inch 1280x720 pixel Super AMOLED high-definition display use fortified glass which can handle drops and repel scratched - as can be seen in the following video

    Despite having passed this intensive key scratch test we still recommend you protect your cell phones with the latest fashion setting cases and skins, screen protectors and other fun accessories that enhance your mobile device's functionality.

    The Chairman - up to $49,500

    Ulysse Nardin’s The Chairman

    Chairman by Ulysse Nardin is the world’s most expensive Android smartphone, and includes both a touch screen and a physical number pad. The Ulysse Nardin name is most often associated with luxury watches and that fact shows in the Chairman’s sophisticated design. The volume controls look like watch buttons and the crown between them can actually be wound to generate power for the device. In fact, the phone features a kinetic rotor power system visible through the back plate.

    Nokia 8800 Arte with pink diamonds - $134,000

    Nokia 8800 Arte with pink diamonds

    Designed by Peter Aloisson, this solid 18k white gold phone features over 680 pink and white brilliant cut diamonds totaling over 21.5 carats. Some of the phone’s features are a 3.15 MP camera with autofocus and video, a music player, Bluetooth and voice memo.  Accessories are available

    iPhone Princess Plus - $176,400

    iPhone Princess Plus

    The Princess Plus got its name from the Princess cut used on 138 of the 318 diamonds on its surface. The other 180 diamonds on the phone were brilliant-cut. In total, the phone has 17.75 carats of diamonds set in 18k white gold around its rim. The iPhone Princess Plus is worth $176,400 while the somewhat more pedestrian “Brilliants only” version sold for $66,150.  The fashionista can further personalize this mobile device with sophisticated phone accessories

    Sony Ericsson Black Diamond – $300,000

    Sony Ericsson Black Diamond

    The price of this phone comes from actual state of the art technology instead of a bunch of shiny rocks—but that doesn’t mean it lacks visual appeal. OLED technology underneath the polycarbonate skin that covers the phones entire face gives the 4 megapixel screen a borderless look. The mirror finish gives the phone a sleek, futuristic look.  Self conscious?  Accessorize your cell phone

    Vertu Signature Cobra - $310,000

    Vertu Signature Cobra

    This gaudy phone is so exclusive that only eight will ever be made. Designed by French jeweler Boucheron, the Signature Cobra is made with two diamonds, two emeralds and 439 rubies. For buyers who are only filthy rich, rather than obscenely rich, twenty-six of the less flashy (read: no rubies) Signature Python phones will be available for a mere $115,000. Both phones will feature the real draw—they have frikkin’ snakes on them. Awesome.  Make your fashion statement with exclusive mobile accessories

    Gresso Luxor Las Vegas Jackpot –  $1 million

    Gresso Luxor Las Vegas Jackpot

    This ultra-exclusive phone, limited to only three units, truly lives up to its name. Not only is it extraordinarily expensive, but its Egypt-inspired design will look right at home in the hands of a Vegas high-roller. The phone features 45.5 carats of black diamonds decorating the bezel and a back panel made from 200-year-old African blackwood—the most expensive wood in the world. As if that weren’t enough to ensure the Jackpot a place among the world’s most expensive mobile phones, each key is cut from a hand-polished sapphire crystal. All of these luxurious materials are set in a 180-gram solid gold frame.

    The Diamond Crypto Smartphone – $1.3 million

    The Diamond Crypto Smartphone

    Created by luxury accessory producer Peter Aloisson of Moscow-based JSC Ancort, this luxury smart phone's price stems from the platinum body, the cover adorned with 50 diamonds—including eight that are rare blue diamonds. Additionally, the Ancort logo and the navigation key are made of 18k rose gold. Built on the Windows CE, this expensive cell also features a high-resolution color TFT display and a 256 bit cryptographic algorithm. This expensive mobile phone features SMS, MMS, E-mail and Internet capability, WAP, JAVA support and even a media player.  Further enhance you smart phone' s functionality with these accessories

    GoldVish ‘Le Million’ Piece Unique - $1.3 million

    GoldVish Le Million Piece Unique

    Guinness World Records certified GoldVish SA’s ‘Le Million’ Piece Unique on January 29th, 2008. The Geneva-based luxury communications company’s expensive mobile phone was designed by Emmanuel Gueit as an addition to the Illusion Collection. The phone is made of 18k white gold and set with 20 carats of VVS1 (only microscopically flawed) diamonds. The phone also features Bluetooth, 2 GB of storage, FM radio, a digital camera and MP3 playback. This expensive cell phone is available only by special order.

    Kings Button iPhone - $2.4 million

    Kings Button iPhone

    The Kings Button iPhone is, surprisingly, a jewel-bedecked iPhone. This time, however, Aloisson had the iPhone 3G to play with—and, apparently, a bit of a bigger budget. One hundred and thirty-eight brilliant-cut diamonds line the sides of the phone, but the real prize is the home button—a rare 6.6 carat white diamond.  Bring out this device's features with stylish cell phone accessories

    Goldstriker iPhone 3GS Supreme – $3.2 million

    Goldstriker iPhone 3GS Supreme

    Stuart Hughes of Goldstriker International is known for giving luxury devices such as phones and video game consoles the “Supreme” treatment—covering them with gold and diamonds—and the iPhone is no exception. The iPhone 3GS Supreme features a casing made from 271 grams of solid 22k gold and a screen trimmed with fifty-three 1-carat diamonds. The home button is covered with a single rare 7.1-carat diamond. That’s not all, though—the iPhone 3GS Supreme comes in a chest carved from a single block of granite and sports Kashmir gold and an interior lining made with Nubuck top grain leather.   Fuse fashion and functionality with exclusive mobile accessories

    iPhone 4 Diamond Rose Edition – $8 million

    iPhone 4 Diamond Rose Edition

    If you thought his iPhone 3GS Supreme was impressive, check out the latest iPhone from Stuart Hughes–the iPhone 4 Diamond Rose Edition. Hughes has recreated the infamous antenna band that wraps around the sides of the latest iPhone, as well as the backplate, using rose gold. The band is adorned with 100 carats of flawless diamonds, and the Apple logo is formed with fifty-three more diamonds. Once again, the home button gets the most love–it’s made of platinum and features a rare 7.4-carat pink diamond.

    The phone comes in an imperial pink 7-kilogram chest cut from a single block of granite and lined with nubuck top-grain leather. It also comes with an 8-carat flawless diamond that can be used in place of the pink one.  Make a further personalized fashion statement, accessorize your cell phone now!

    HTC Edge Poised To Be the Leader of the Smartphone PackThe rumors abound regarding the development and release of the HTC Edge Smartphone. Preliminary leaks of information indicate the HTC Edge may take the lead of the Smartphone market. As speculation continues to grow, it has been asserted the Edge may be one of the first name brand Smartphones to be powered by a four-quad processor.

    This has many technology buffs waiting anxiously to get their hands on the HTC Edge. However, while information has been leaked, the makers of the HTC Edge are keeping quiet. Maybe intentionally to create even more hype surrounding the release of this phone.  HTC also provides a myriad of cell phone accessories

    The features may include the following:

    * NVIDIA 1.5GHz quad core processor

    * 720p HD S-LCD 2 4.7-inch display that includes optical

    lamination

    * 8 mega-pixel camera (front facing)

    * 1080p video capture

    * 32GB built-in storage

    * NFC technology

    * 1GB RAM

    Unfortunately, the aforementioned is based on leaked information that has not been verified or confirmed. However, HTC has much to gain by releasing a quad-core Smartphone. While the company has excellent sales figures and has a few unlocked cell phones available, the HTC Edge could launch the company to the top.

    HTC Corporation's mission statement indicates the company is committed to pushing the boundaries of technology to provide mobile freedom - thus the corporate slogan is "HTC, quietly brilliant." HTC phone Accessories are among the most trend setting

    HTC Edge Poised To Be the Leader of the Smartphone Pack

    The HTC Edge may be the companies crowning achievement if the current speculation is true. HTC Corporation has earned a reputation of developing quality cell phones and mobile accessories. This quietly brilliant company may take its place at the top of the Smartphone market by blowing away the competition.

    Unfortunately, consumers will have to wait until late 2012 for the release of this phone. However, some industry analysts are hoping the HTC Edge may be available as early as mid-year.

  • LG Optimus 2X Review
    Posted on July 18, 2011 by Pure Mobile

    LG Optimus 2X ReviewThe LG Optimus 2X unlocked is a wonderful device that is received well in most circumstances. You can bet that the LG Optimus IIx is going to continue to be a popular phone moving forward. Being built around a dual core processor, the LG Optimus 2X is on a higher end Android devices. The dual core processor makes it one of the top performing devices within its class for its price range. Although many consider the unlocked LG Optimus 2X to be a midrange phone, it really performs more like a high-end phone. It continues to be a top-of-the-line device that is hard to match in most circumstances. The design of the device is great, and the sloping glass of the display gives it a very unique look. It does resemble some of the previous LG Optimus devices, but does have a number of things that set it out. First of all, one of the biggest draws to the device for many users has been the HDMI output. Using the HDMI output will make the phone very easy to use in conjunction with a television set.

    LG Optimus 2X Review

    The Tegra 2 processor that is using the phone as top-of-the-line is known as one of the best in the industry. Isn’t that the phone will continue to be a top-of-the-line device for quite some time moving forward. It will be interesting to see how the phone continues to gain a following in the future.

    LG Optimus 2X Review

    In all, there are a number of things to like about the device. First of all, it has an eight megapixel camera, and that’s full megapixels, making it one of the best cameras built into a smart device in the mobile industry today. The high 1080 P. video that can be captured from the video camera also sets the device apart. In all, the unlocked LG Optimus 2x elevates the benchmark for hardware and mobile devices. It is a top-of-the-line device that is easy to use, and should be able to meet your needs moving forward.

  • inPulse Smartwatch Now Available for BB
    Posted on February 24, 2011 by Pure Mobile

    The inPulse Smartwatch has been a much anticipated product for quite some time. There are a number of different colors and styles, and each model will be differently priced. You can expect to pay anywhere from $150 to $200 for the different models of inPulse Smartwatch.

    The watch will connect you with others by allowing you to send text messages, craft emails and even make incoming calls right on your watch. This will be great for users that want to stay connected but don’t want to look rude by pulling their phone out.

    The devices will also have calendar events, and will function as a wrist-based planner as much as it is a smart device. There are already several apps that are available, including iTunes, which will allow you to play music directly through the watch. Another app that is already available is Presenter, which allows you to check out presentations on your phone. The service is actually connected directly with unlocked BlackBerry phones, and will use the service that you receive for your BlackBerry device.

    The inPulse app has been highly anticipated by mobile users. The idea of being able to perform smart phone functions from a watch on your wrist is certainly interesting to say the least, and could come in handy for situations where phone use is not appropriate. Could these be the start of other accessory devices that connect you directly to the service that you receive on your phone?

    These will serve as the first generation of watch-based devices, and should pave the way for future generations. Because they have received so much attention already, you can bet that they will be looking to expand their features and options moving forward. The convenience provided by inPulse Smartwatches is something that any businessman on the go should be interested in.
