  • Rumors are starting to fly surrounding the price of the upcoming myTouch 3G Slide Phone from T-Mobile.  Recent speculation has this new device hitting retail stores with a price of $399.99 on an Even More Plus plan and $149.99 with an Even More plan after a $50 mail in rebate.  This is also an option to pay $23 per month over 20 months.  While this is the same price T-Mobile is asking for the original and slide-less myTouch 3G I am not so sure that these rumors are accurate.  Also, this new T-Mobile handset was originally set to be released on June 2nd but it is sounding more and more like it will be released on June 16th.

While it would be great if the new myTouch 3G Slide was released as the same price as the original myTouch 3G it is unlikely that a newer and better device will be released for the same price.  I would expected the myTouch 3G Slide to be slight more expensive than the original but not too much more where it would scare off consumers.

It is nice to finally get a gauge of what the new myTouch 3G Slide will be priced when it is finally released by T-Mobile.  From these initial rumors it looks like this new handset is going to be one of the more affordable Unlocked  Samsung Galaxy S Android 2.1 devices to be released this summer.  Hopefully T-Mobile is able to release this product on June 2nd as some people are speculating so consumers will not have to wait much longer to get their hands on this fantastic smartphone.   If the release date does end up being June 16th I guess that won’t be too big of a deal.  We have waited this long so another 2 weeks shouldn’t be too hard to get through, right?

  • If you can not wait any longer for the Android 2.1 OS to come to the Samsung Moment you just might not have to wait any longer.  Thanks to a couple of members of SDX-Developers the highly anticipated Android update can finally be added to your Samsung mobile phone.  There are currently two different builds on the forum and both seem to work quite well.  It is being reported that both builds work with voice and data.  The only problem that users are reporting is a “faulty” marketplace.

Even though both of these builds that are designed to bring the Android 2.1 to the Samsung Moment are currently working without issues for most people there is still a slight chance that this new upgrade can wipe your phone.  If you are looking to perform this sort of addition to your mobile device then you are probably aware of the risks that come along with doing so.

While there is that slight chance that you might brick your Samsung phone it might just be worth it so that you can use the new Android 2.1 OS.  With all of the added features that are included with this new Android upgrade many Samsung users will wish that they made this switch much earlier than they did.  I for one am getting tired of waiting around for Samsung to bring this new Android update to my Moment mobile device.

  • The odds that the Samsung Galaxy S will soon find a home in the US have skyrocketed recently with the FCC awarding certification for the newest smartphone from Samsung.  The Galaxy S is set to support the AT&T friendly 3G bands and would represent a huge shot in the arm to AT&T’s Android offerings which is currently limited to the Motorola BACKFLIP.  While it is not 100% certain that the Galaxy S is headed for AT&T this is what many mobile device experts are forecasting for this new phone.

The Samsung Galaxy S is supposed to be one of the best Android devices when it finally hits the US market.  The fact that it is more than likely coming to the AT&T network will be welcomed news for all of the AT&T customers who have been patiently waiting for some other Android devices to hit the market.  Since AT&T currently only carries one Android device at the moment the Galaxy S is sure to be a huge hit when it finally arrives in the US.

The Samsung Galaxy S is set to come with the Android 2.1 OS and be one of the most popular devices on the market.  This announcement that the FCC has awarded the Galaxy S certification means that this device is that much closer to being released in the US market.  I know that I am personally excited to see what all of the buzz has been about regarding the Galaxy S.  Being a huge fan of some of the other Android phones I am sure that I will not be disappointed when I am finally able to get my hands on one of these Galaxy S devices from Motorola.

  • When we heard about the recently announced Samsung Galaxy S we knew it was going to have some serious power but were just unsure about how much power this device would actually have.  After some mobile device testers got their hands on the new Samsung Galaxy S it is becoming more and more clear just how powerful this phone actually is.  Thanks to its PowerVR SGX540 GPU the Galaxy S has the power to push 90 million triangles per second.  Compare that to the Snapdragon platform which manages a mere 22 million polygons and the iPhone 3GS’s 28 million from the earlier SGX535 you can easily see what kind of power the Galaxy S is actually packing.

    Samsung Cell Phones

Of course the number of polygons that you can push per second is not everything when it comes to graphical power it is certainly a giant part of the equation.  With the announcement of Galaxy S having such increased graphical power over its competitors this is sure to start a new war among mobile device companies.  It will be interesting to see where these mobile device companies take this new technology and how they expand on it and improve it.

Cell phones are becoming remarkable gadgets these days and it appears the Samsung Galaxy S is just another link in the chain.  With its supposed superior graphics it will be interesting to see how the Galaxy S is received in the market place and how the rest of the phone’s functions are viewed by consumers.  If Samsung took as much time enhancing other aspects of the phone as they did with the graphics then the Galaxy S is sure to be a huge hit amongst mobile phone consumers.

  • Benefits of an Unlocked Cell Phone
Posted on February 19, 2010 by Pure Mobile

It is very surprising to realize that most people in the United States do not know or understand what an unlocked cell phone is.  I was having dinner with my family this past week, and of course the discussion turned towards cell phones and cell phone plans.  I was explaining that there were numerous benefits to purchasing an unlocked cell phone.

My sister-in-law had just purchased the new Samsung 1637 Jack unlocked and of course now she is locked into another three-year contract with her current carrier.  I asked her why she did this, as she has never really cared much for her current plan.  She bought a phone and extended her plan because she figured that it was her only option to getting a new cell phone.

Samsung I637 JACK 3G NAM Black AT&T Unlocked GSM Cellular Phone

I explained to her that by purchasing an unlocked cell phone, it would give her the freedom and flexibility in choosing a carrier.  I explained that she may have even been able to save some extra money as the cost of the phone would not be buried in the plan.  I also explained that since she does travel outside the country several times a year, that an unlocked cell phone would give her the freedom to purchase local Sim cards, so she would not occur any additional charges from her carrier.

When I started to explain that there are many phones we do not even have access to here in the United States, and some of the amazing features of the phones, I began to get the attention of some of my younger nieces and nephews.  I explained to them that they would be able to get some of the newest technology that is only available in the European markets by purchasing an unlocked cell phone like the Sony Ericsson Aspen unlocked.

I think they will all start to consider purchasing an unlocked cell phone the next time their current contract from their carrier is about to end.  When I explained to them some of the amazing phones and all the features that they have, which we are not yet able to get here, they all pulled out their existing phones and began to enter the website information for Pure Mobile to purchase their unlocked cell phone.
