  • Experts Say Cell Phones Do Not Cause CancerA number of studies have been released in recent months that state that cell phones can cause cancer, typically brain cancer, and those that use them on a regular basis. The most recent report that stated this was released by the World Health Organization which stated that they believe that cell phones are possibly carcinogenic. This report was quickly followed by another report that was released by The Economist best a completely the opposite. In their report they stated that it was not possible for the radio waves that are released by unlocked cell phones such as Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, Samsung Nexus S to cause cells to me to it, therefore causing cancer. Another group of experts also studied this report, and a claim that they see no connection between the use of cell phones and cancer, primarily brain cancer.

It was only in the last 10 years that mobile phones have become commonplace for most users. This means that these types of organizations have a limited amount of data that they are able to work with, and it might be some time until we can get a better idea of which reports to believe. As of right now, it seems that most reliable experts agree that cell phones do not cause cancer. However, with 25 and 30 years of data, we may have a better idea of exactly what the percentages are of cancer in adults that do and do not use cell phones.

Experts Say Cell Phones Do Not Cause Cancer

It will be interesting to see what kind of advancements in this study is seen over the course of the next few years. It is hardly known that cell phones can cause quite a bit of damage according to the World Health Organization, but so far most other large outfits that have studied this have not agreed with the World Health Organization.

  • Skype and Facebook Cross IntegrationSkype and Facebook quickly rallied to fight back at the recent Google attempt to launch a social network, named Google+. The Google+ network quickly added a number of features that were not currently available for Facebook, but were reportedly already in development. One thing that Facebook has to take into account, is there large number of users from unlocked cell phone such as Motorola Atrix, Samsung Galaxy S II, so when they make a sweeping change like adding integration for video chat, they will not be able to roll it out as seamlessly as Google did with the Google+ platform. However quickly after the announcement was made that Google+ was going live for a small number of beta users, it has early become clear that they have some momentum that will has never had before and the social networking space, despite several other attempts to launch a viable social network.

    Skype and Facebook Cross Integration

Now, Facebook has announced that they will have Skype integration with Facebook, as well as Facebook integration with Skype. This spares both Facebook and Microsoft in a partnership sending them directly against their competitor, Google. It will be interesting to see whether or not the Facebook video chat is as well received as the Google+ video chat has been so far. So far the reviews of the Google+ video chat service have been raving, and most users have seemed to think that their hangouts option is one that puts Google+ network ahead of other social networks that are currently out there. It has been for fear of Facebook that Google will launch a rival social network for quite some time, and it appears that this is their shot. They’re taking it now and are attempting to break what has become the world’s largest machine Facebook social network platform. Along with this they have also announced a plethora of other new updates to Facebook, including group chat, a way that will allow for users to chat with multiple people at once instead of just the one that had been allowed so far.

  • According to a number of recent reports, Microsoft is now asking that Samsung pay $15 licensing fee for every Android smart phone that it makes. Yes, you heard that right. They are asking for a $15 licensing fee for every Android phone that Samsung makes. The Redmond based company said that it believed that the software patents that they currently home will cover the technology that is used in Samsung’s Android devices such as unlocked Samsung Galaxy S II. According to the history on the present subject, it looks as though Microsoft will be getting its way.

It was just last year that HTC was forced to sign an agreement that would allow for them to pay a total of $15 per device based on the patents that Microsoft already owns such as unlocked HTC 7 Surround. It expects that Samsung will return an offering for a total of $10 for each device that it creates, but the upper hand is definitely on Microsoft’s side in this case since the company also had a number of lawsuits recently with Apple, and the fact that Microsoft has teamed up with Facebook to combat the new Google social network, it appears as if every company is fighting each other on a different front. Apple has also attacked Samsung claiming that they copycat devices that they say also infringes on the patents that they have. Since they have been constantly tied up in these battles, this one seems most definitely favor Microsoft over any other organization. It will be interesting to see if they reach some sort of pre-determined amount in court, or if they come to an agreement before that. It is clear that if Microsoft takes the court that they will win, and will probably reach a similar agreement to the agreement that was reached with  HTC just last year. It will be interesting to see if Microsoft also continues to target other companies that are using their patented technology in the future.

  • Samsung Infuse i997 unlocked
Posted on June 29, 2011 by Pure Mobile

    The unlocked Samsung (Infuse i997) has been a very popular device since it was first announced at the consumer electronics show in January.  The device is received a lot of attention from various sources and continues to be a very popular phone for users to unlock.  There are a number of benefits are provided to the phone when you unlock it.  Some of the benefits that have forced me to unlock the phone after purchasing it include the following;

    Samsung Infuse i997 unlocked

First of all, the ability for you to utilize apps that you would not normally have access to at the device is definitely something that many users would be interested in.  There are many different apps out there that you could potentially use with the device, that are not available when you do not have it unlocked.

Also, the ability to use the device with various carriers would be something that many users would be interested in, that would not be available much to unlock the phone.  It is definitely something that I think many users would enjoy, as the carrier that the device is released for is not always the carrier that they would like to use the phone with.  This is been one of the bigger reasons why many users choose to unlock their phone when they are using it.

Overall this Samsung Infuse i997 has been a very solid released thus far.  The phone has continued to impress, and using this Samsung Infuse i997 unlocked as been a very popular choice for many users.  It provides a number of benefits that normally would not be there for the device, and desolate expanse of functionality for the device as a whole. As unlocking has grown more popular over the course of the last few years devices such of the Samsung unlocked Infuse i997 have become more commonly unlocked by users.

  • AT&T New GoPhone Unlimted Plan
Posted on June 27, 2011 by Pure Mobile

AT&T New GoPhone Unlimted PlanAT&T has officially announced that they will be launching a new unlimited $50 plan entitled GoPhone. The new plan will give cell phone users such as unlocked Samsung Nexus S, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, etc. access to unlimited text, unlimited talk, and even the web for the low price of just $50 per month.  AT&T’s option will not require users to sign a contract and will also allow for users to text other individuals in Mexico, Canada and up to 100 other countries.  The ability to text internationally will not cost anything to the users, and will be a great feature that many people will likely use.  It is clear that this new offering from AT&T will benefit those that have family in other countries and are constantly paying international taxing rates under current plans.  It is clear that with this new offer that AT&T is looking for a way to connect users with unlimited text, talk, and even the web for one low cost per month without a contract in order to compete with other similar offers that have been launched in recent months by other companies.

the new plan will first become available on June 26 with AT&T.  In all, it will be able to offer savings of more than 20% of their users.  Some of the other countries that are included in the 100 that were initially announced have not been released at this time are expected to be released in the very near future.  The new service can be purchased at any of the AT&T Co. retail stores, or even online on the company’s website.  There are going to be three data plans available that range anywhere from $5-$25 per month.

The company has not released any information about what devices will be available through the plan, but you can bet that they will be including a number of high profile smart phones into the plan.  The smart phones will likely not be available with any sort of discount as you would if you signed a contract with.  More information about the new plan offered by AT&T is expected to become available in the coming weeks and months.

  • Sound Charge T-Shirt Charges Phone While You ListenIt seems as if every day there is a new device that comes out that allows you to charge your phone such as unlocked iphone 4 while you’re on the go.  Now the company Orange Sound has released a new quirky way for you to charge your phone when you’re out and about.  The company will be releasing a T-shirt that will generate an electronic charge from the sound around the phone.  The idea is that the church will create an electronic charge while users are out of concerts and shows, and then their phone can be plugged into the shirt to maintain its charge while they are out and about.  This is an interesting and quirky way for users to charge their phone even while they are out of their favorite concerts.  The company has not gone much farther than explaining that harnessing the power of the vibrations around the shirt are involved in creating the charge.

So far they have not released any information about how much of a charge, or how long your phone will stay charge for when you’re using the T-shirt.  We would expect that the charge would not be very strong; it might just give your phone a few extra minutes of life while you were out at the concert.  However, it will probably make a great fashion statement that you can show off to your friends while you’re out and about.  As far as we can tell, the louder the environment that you’re in, the more charge the shirt will receive.  At the very least, the shirt will be great for starting conversations with people that you don’t know while you’re out and about.

Sound Charge T-Shirt Charges Phone While You Listen

Every day it seems as if there are new ways to charge your device, but most of them that have been released in recent times appear to be gimmicks.  A T-shirt that charges your phone based on the vibrations around you is not really all that feasible, but is an interesting concept that one day may grow into something larger and the interest in the shirt that we have seen so far is any indication.

  • The all in analytical company, the Nielsen company, has announced that the usage of smart phone data has risen as much as 89% in the United States over the course of the first quarter of 2011.  The data consumed is rising at a very fast pace, and it appears that the largest users of data and the smart phone era or android users such as unlocked Xperia Arc, Samsung galaxy II, etc...  During the same period of time during 2010, the average smart phone user only used about 230 MB of data on their device.  However last quarter, the number went up significantly, about 89%, to as much as 435 MB of data over that same period of time.  The heaviest amounts of data that was used among the top 10% of all users of smart phones went from 1.8 GB during that quarter to 4.6 GB during that quarter.  Keep in mind, that these are the largest users of data in the smart phone era, and are not representative of all smart phone users.

    Smartphone Data Rises Significantly

However, during the same amount of time the average cost to the user or per megabyte for smart phone data, dropped as much as 46% over that same period.  This shows that data is becoming progressively less expensive for most users, and shows that even though the amount of data that is being used is going up, it does appear to be getting cheaper.  The largest majority of users use very small amounts of data.  The largest amount of data was used by users in the 99th and 98th percentile, who used the bulk of the data that was gathered.  The cost of data per megabyte was $.14 in the first quarter of 2010.  This number dropped all the way down to eight cents per megabyte last quarter.

It is interesting to see that android users are the largest users of data.  One would think that I phone users would be the largest users of data based on the number of people that own them.  Perhaps the low level of intrigue that makes the unlocked iPhone 4 so popular is one of the reasons why users do not use as much data.  Also, the fact that it is a closed interface could lead to more users using less data than Android users, which utilize an open interface.

  • American Airlines To Offer Galaxy Tab 10.1 To First ClassEver forgot your laptop or tablet when you get on a flight and wished that the airline provided one to you? Well now you might finally have the chance to live that little scenario out. American Airlines has announced that they are going to start providing the unlocked Samsung (Galaxy Tab 10.1) to their riders that are sitting in first class. This will be an option that is only going to be available on some of the longer flights that the company has to offer, but if it is a hit we could start seeing it more and more.

So far, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be available on flights from Los Angeles to New York, San Francisco to New York, Boston to Los Angeles and Also Los Angeles to Miami. This is the first airline to begin this practice, but if it is successful you can bet that they will not be the last. All of the flights that the tablet will be allowed on will be 757s. These tablets may or may not come loaded with various apps, that information has not been released at this time. They will probably not have internet access, and if they do it will probably be provided by the airline itself to make sure that the device does not mess with any of the dials and functions on the plane.

American Airlines To Offer Galaxy Tab 10.1 To First Class

So far more than 6,000 tablets have been ordered by the company in total, and American Airlines will also be offering their passenger’s access to their onboard WiFi, which many expected following the announcement of the tablets being offered to their first class customers. Hopefully they will be able to put some movies and music on the tablets as well to increase the potential for entertainment on the devices.

  • New SceneTap App LetsYou Find Happening Bars and PubsWith the SceneTap app launching here in just a month, you might want to get ready to use it in order to find out which clubs and bars are going to be worth your time on the weekends. The app will allow for users of Android and unlocked iphone 4 to take a look at the bars before they even go out on the town. They will be looking at different bars across the area using cameras that are already set up to give users an idea of what the crowd might look like on the bar on any given night, given users a real look at the demographics of the bar before they go.

They are also adding some commentary into the app. To downplay the privacy concerns, they will not be providing any of the real steams from the bars so you do not have to worry about the privacy. You should also know that nothing is being recorded by the app. In the beginning, the app will look to cover about 50 clubs in the beginning in the Chicago area.

New SceneTap App LetsYou Find Happening Bars and Pubs

They are expected to push this farther and cover more clubs in the future, but it will be a slow crawl from one pub to another, as some users of the app will likely do. The app has been heralded as a new type of social network that focuses only on nightlife. You can bet that they will look to also take a look at user reviews of different bars to get an idea of what works and what does not. This is one app that will probably get quite a bit of use from cell phone users such as Motorola Cliq unlocked, Samsung Captivate, etc. that are looking to go out on the weekends. They provide some really interesting stats about what is out there and what kind of people are at each of the bars.

  • Since the Unlocked Samsung (Droid Charge) was released users have had to deal with a bug that really interfered with one of the main reasons that many purchased the phone in the first place. The hotspot feature was only working when you set the date on your device to sometime in May. This forced Verizon to shut off the hotspot for the time being until they could fix the bug.

    Droid Charge Hotspot Technology Back

Now, they have released an update that will continue to allow for the device to utilize the hotspot feature once again, and this time you will not have to change the date on your phone. There are a number of enhancements and additions that came along with the update. Some of the more popular updates including a much longer battery life during phone calls, a browser that works without the issues that were reported before, a new email folder setup that should make email browsing much easier, along with improved GPS performance that should make navigating more simple.

Droid Charge Hotspot Technology BackThere were many other small updates that were also included in the download which should keep users anticipating future updates as well. The update is currently being slowly rolled out to a number of different devices and you should keep an eye out for the notification that will be present on your phone before the update goes live. It is good to see that Samsung quickly addressed the issue, as the hotspot feature was one that brought in a lot of new users to the Droid charge and it was a shame to see that it did not work out of the box. Of course, the bug that was causing the issue was not one that the company was able to notice until it was no longer May, so you can not really blame them for not figuring it out until it rolled around.
