  • Sprint will now be carrying another environmentally correct cell phone.  The LG Cell Phone (Remarq) is primarily a messaging phone, which will also allow you to utilize many social networking features.  The biggest deal about this phone is that it is eco-friendly.  It is partially made from recycled plastic and the packaging that the mobile device comes in is mostly made from materials that are recycled as well.  To carry the theme on further, the charger is Energy Star.  We have seen an emergence of environmentally friendly phones, which also includes the Sony Ericsson Aspen unlocked cell phone.

Not only is the phone good for the earth, being manufactured and produced with 87% environmentally friendly products, but it also comes with a really cool eco-calculator application, which will tell you how much CO2 you are saving when you walk or cycle instead of using a car.  The phone also comes with additional features as well.  It has the full slide out QWERTY keyboard.  It also has a 1.3 mega pixel camera, MP3 player and has the MicroSD card slot, which gives you up to 16GB of additional memory.  It is also has stereo Bluetooth.  The phone is great for social media such as Facebook and the phone makes it extremely easy to upload photos to the variety of social networks and Photobucket.

It has all of the built-in accessories we use, such as the alarm clock calculator, notepad clock.  You will be able to send and receive instant messages and e-mail, as well as the ability to access any of your e-mail accounts.  The phone is available in dark silver, as well as turquoise.  Give you 5.5 hours of talk time and has a 320x240 QVGA screen with 262K of color resolution.  It should be available around May 9th.

  • The New LG Mini
Posted on February 15, 2010 by Pure Mobile

LG has announced its new cellular phone, the LG GD880, also known as the LG Mini.  The cellular phone is perhaps one of the slimmest and tiniest touchscreen smart phones that you will be able to find.  Do not let its size fool you though, as it is loaded with many features.

This  LG cell phone is based on information it has gathered from actual users that are not pleased with the high priced and bulky phones that are around right now.  This phone is easy to keep in your pocket and comes with a great price.  It has that sleek and slim look as well.

    LG Mini photos

It has textured metal trim that gives it that touch of elegance.  It has a 3.2 inch screen that goes to the edge of the phone.  The phone has fast web browsing and will keep you synched with all of your social sites like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace.  It also comes with a 5 megapixel camera.  It uses the HSDPA connection at 7.2 Mbps and has Wi-Fi.

It will also have the microUSB and will use the 2.1 Stereo Bluetooth.  It also has the video playback, MP3 player and FM radio.  The LG Mini has a microSD memory slot and has 100 MB of internal memory.  It uses the A-GPS real time locator as well.  It has all of those useful accessories like the alarm, calendar, to do lists, calculator and tasks.  You can voice record and it has a speaker phone.

We should begin to see this cellular phone be released sometime in March.  It will probably be released in the European market first.  Good news for the North American market though, you should be able to purchase the mini LG cell phone unlocked soon after its release.  It is promised to be an affordable phone; at least this is what LG is saying.  We will have to wait until March to find out.

  • LG GW300 Unlocked Review
Posted on January 5, 2010 by Pure Mobile

If you are in the market for a great phone, which can do more, then the LG GW300 might be the phone for you. LG phones are known for their reliability and technology. While originally considered a tool for business, the LG GW300 unlocked has quickly attracted a following for its media features and light weight chassis. In fact, the whole phone weighs less than 4 ounces, making it the perfect phone to carry with you and not be tied down. Despite its small size, the LG GW300 sports a nice 2.4 inch TFT display with unbridled clarity to display all of your pictures and videos with ease.

The phone also has a full QWERTY keyboard, which makes it easy to send texts and MMS messages in a flash without the need to use "text speech". The unlocked LG GW300 also has a very nice 2 megapixel camera which can take pictures in resolution of up to 1600X1200 pixels, which is larger than what many 23" monitors use as their resolution today. Video recording and playback are also supported, which makes it a great tool to capture moments on the go when you do not have a camcorder with you.

In addition to the great camera and keyboard, the LG Mobile GW300 also has a huge storage capacity for storing all of those great pictures. With up to 10MBs of internal memory and 4GBs of external memory, you will be able to snap pictures and store music and ringtones for the built-in mp3/mp4 player. The phone also supports micro SD cards, so if you find yourself running out of space on one card, you can carry an extra card with you.

With the phone is special software that helps sync up the phone to your computer, for transferring documents and music files so you are never without any of your data, no matter where you are.

  • LG Chocolate Touch: Review & Features
Posted on November 4, 2009 by Pure Mobile

The next incarnation of LG’s Chocolate series began in 2006, the LG Chocolate Touch, is slated for release during the 4th quarter of 2009 and promises to be a worthy successor in the line-up.  As implied by the name, the LG Chocolate Touch will be the first touchscreen model in the series.  The soft-touch coating on the back cover of the device is a nice feature, making the phone easy to hold onto.  The 3 inch vibrant touchscreen doesn’t have much flex and responds quickly and accurately to touch commands.  A proximity sensor turns off the display’s touch functions when the phone is being held up for a call and a light sensor automatically adjusts the display’s backlight level according to room lighting.  In typical fashion for a touchscreen device, the only physical keys located on the front face and below the screen are a Talk, Back (which doubles as Voice Command), and End/Power button. On the sides of the phone are also a few other dedicated buttons, including a display lock, speakerphone, music, and camera button.  The phone includes a 3.2MP camera for basic picture-taking needs.

    lg-chocolate-touch

Building on it’s “Chocolate” legacy, the LG Chocolate Touch really outshines the touchscreen competition when it comes to its media player capabilities.  Similar to a music only dedicated device, music downloaded onto the phone is categorized by All Songs, Genres, Artists, Albums, and Playlists.  The album cover shows when a song is playing with all the media player commands you will need to change volume level, back up or move forward in the song, or skip it altogether.  The ability to manually adjust equalizer settings on the media player is a feature welcomed by serious music lovers everywhere.  It is easy to take for granted that a standard 3.5mm headphone jack is included, but somehow it is often overlooked by developers, making it’s inclusion a huge plus.  The LG Chocolate Touch builds nicely upon the strengths of its predecessors, while incorporating new features that keep it in line with the best of today’s technology.

  • The new watch phone by LG
Posted on January 15, 2009 by Pure Mobile

Another year another Consumer Electronics Show.  CES 2009 had a lot of new goodies that are expected to be out this year.  There wasn't anything stuning on the mobile front except for a few things.  One items that comes to mind is the new LG watch phone or the LG GD910

Now we've seen watch phones before with ones like the Hyundai W100 and although it was good it never really took off.  They seem to be still very new in the market and haven't really caught on.

LG, though, is looking to change that.  With the new LG GD910.  Many specs don't seem to be available but from images shown on sites like Engadget it does seem like the watch will be very functional and not bulky.  That was a downside to the W100 it was rather large on the wrist.  Other features are Bluetooth, speakerphone, video calling, music player 3G and even a touchscreen to make it easier to use.

Now production isn't slated to start until later this year which means that we will not likely see it hit the market until the end of the year or even early next year, but it is definitely something to watch out for.
