  • It isn’t much of a surprise when recent market statistics declared Android phones to be dominating in the US. One third of all the smartphones sold in the month of spring were all Androids , the most popular amongst them being the Motorola Droid. The HTC Droid Incredible the HTC EVO 4G followed the  Motorola Droid. The Apple iPhone4 Unlocked handset  and RIM despite having several exclusive features couldn’t surpass the Androids. The adoptions of Google’s mobile OS by the Androids serve as their staircase to success.

Reports by Electronsta probe that Google will hold on to the American Smartphone for long. Within a few months Androids will feature on the top list. With the Droid X‘s rapid sales and the upcoming ,much awaited Motorola Droid 2 launching soon Google will be on cloud nine. RIM’s share on the other hand continues to degrade. Apple’s only consolation is the iPhone but it cannot single-handedly match the Android’s performance. The Android has over 200,000 new phone activations per day. Beginning of 2010 figures ranged around 60,000 zooming onto 100,000 in May 2010 and now present day statistics suggest that there are about 1.4 million activations per week.

Android phones are subjected to instantaneous application updates, the most rated application features in the next version. Recent Electronista reports about the Android’s success suggest that it might be because of the Verizon. The same might also be the reason for Blackberry’s failure. The Buy One, Get One (BOGO) promos provide an extra boost for the sale of the products. It is indeed sad to imagine that HTC, Motorola ,Samsung and LG’s Unlocked cell phones will be overshadowed by Google’s platform. For now the grass looks greener for the Androids and to add the icing on the cake they are soon going to launch Version 3.0. Androids soon are advancing fast.

  • From trekking through ‘difficult’ roads to carrying out GPS navigation that is ideal, the T-mobile Garminfone searches continually for price points that are partially lower. A recent reduction in the prices had left Garmin-Asus Garminfone at a contract price of $130 .This price is even lower than before. If one visits the market for an Unlocked LG EVE Android handset, the Garminfone is the best thing one can have for $100 when bought for 2 years contract.

There is a trick implemented by the dealers in order to be in an advantageous position as always. In order to get an extra $30 discount on $129.99 cost of the Garminfone, one has to be a T-mobile customer and has to sign a contract of 2 years with magenta. The purchaser also needs to sign the qualifying plan. A mail-in rebate of $50 is also given. Supposedly a person is presently a T-mobile user; there is a good possibility that he might receive a mail regarding this in his inbox. In T-mobile’s smartphone collection, the Garminfone is the hottest selling item. The handset of Garminfone has completely customized for your needs: the Android 1.6 user’s interface. It is recently renovated with the Android OS facility as mentioned above. Now-a-days the   magenta carrier possesses a satisfying number of smartphones with Android user that is efficiently lucrative to the customers. But if one is looking for a smartphone with GPS navigation facility and Android as well as map that are found on the phone itself, the Garminfone is the best choice one can possibly make. The GPS enabled smartphones provide navigation services in several turns and actually relies on wireless connection of data to download maps and other stuffs. On the other hand the Garminfone is a bit different from these smartphones. They do not require any special data connection and one can surf for directions and maps when ever required.

  • T-Mobile had recently launched three new phones under its banner which were from manufacturers LG. These phones, the Sentio, the dLite and the Unlocked LG (GS170) were all released keeping in mind the demands of the people who want top of the line social networking facilities among all other phones. All the sets covered the various spectra of cell phones and included a clamshell phone the dLite and the GS-170. Along with those features, there are also other great features which include a pretty good widget based UI and other such things. However according to what we heard all is not well with these phones in terms of their sales. T-Mobile USA recently announced that they will be dropping the prices for these phones heavily and want to make people who are not genuinely interested in this phone actually stand up and take notice due to the packages which are being provided for the user.

GS-170 phone can now amazingly be secured for free provided you do sign up on the contract with the service carrier. Other than those, the dLite and the Sentio can be bought for $50 and $70 respectively. As is with other service providers, you do need to sign on to any contract before you can get these phones at throwaway rates. As we had said earlier, these phones do not have any kind of mass popularity because they is primarily low end and does not come with many of the cutting edge features that we are used to. One of the best additional features present here is the Social Buzz which allows the users to keep in touch with their friends on the popular social networking web pages. Other than this, all the features of these cell phones are more or less stock specifications that you would find on most other mobiles.

  • LG Sentio Launched on T-Mobile
Posted on July 12, 2010 by Pure Mobile

In a world where smartphones hold a special place in people’s hearts and reign supreme, one would think that dumb phones are a thing of the past. Well, think again! The world may be under the addiction of smartphones like Unlocked  iPhone 4 and the Droid X, but not everyone can afford to get a smartphone. T- Mobile does not normally team up with LG, but in this case has done so, and come out with three state-of-the-art dumb phones. For those who are not aware of the term “dumbphone”, a dumbphone is one which is very similar to a smartphone, but does not have quite all the features that are present in a smart phone. Coming back to LG and T-Mobile, these two mobile giants have come together, possibly for the first time, and launched three dumbphones, and are actually more advanced than you might give them credit for. The three phones are- Sentio, dLite, and GS170. Of these, the Sentio is the most notable.

The LG's  Unlocked (  Sentio )  comes as close to a smartphone as a dumbphone can get. The Sentio is a touch screen phone, and comes with a virtual QWERTY keyboard. It sports a 3 inch display, and supports the 3G networks provided by T-Mobile. It has a 3 megapixel camera, can shoot videos quite efficiently, and even enables users to record visual voicemails. This phone is GPS activated, and comes with a huge number of pre-loaded widgets, which a user can use to customize the home screen with. The Sentio has an application called Social Buzz, which manages activities like Facebook and Twitter more than efficiently. The phone is currently available in a soft, navy blue color, and is available in very few select retail stores only. It is available online on a two-year contract basis for $69.99, but the market-price of the Sentio has not been decided upon yet.

For those who cannot quite afford smartphones, dumbphones are just the thing for them. Dumbphones come closest to a smartphone in design, as well as features, and there are many users worldwide, who are satisfied with their dumbphones. Hopefully, the Sentio will also flourish in the market, and bring good luck to the collaboration between LG and T-Mobile.

  • Smartphone manufacturer LG Technologies has recently confirmed the existence of its new Android powered Unlocked LG Ally handset and that this new device is set to be released on May 20th.  LG did not name a carrier in its press release but it is presumed that Verizon will be the lucky winner and obtain the rights to this new mobile device.

The new LG Ally is expected to feature plenty of Iron Man 2 tie-in content as well, including an augmented reality application.  While there has not been much information released surrounding the LG Ally the mobile phone company has confirmed the phone will sport a touchscreen and full QWERTY keypad.  More information about what features to expect with the Ally is expected to be announced at the upcoming LG event on May 11th in New York City.

This new Android device has definitely taken a strange release route especially in the form of being heavily tied in to the upcoming Iron Man 2 movie.  From the initial look of this device it appears that the LG Ally Unlocked Phone is going to be one powerful Android device.  There are expected to be plenty of features for any smartphone enthusiasts.  Unfortunately we will have to wait until later in the month to hear just what these features will be but I think it will be well worth the wait.  If the other LG Android devices are of any indication smartphone consumers are in store for one of the better devices on the market.  This particular device expects to be rich with media features and have one of the best cameras of all the smartphones.

  • The LG GW525 Unlocked Phone is a  great phone if you do a lot of messaging throughout the day. Even though it does not support WiFi, it does support the 3G network. It does have a micro USB port so that you can connect it directly to your PC. It has a full QWERTY keyboard and screen size of 2.8 inches. It has 40MB of internal memory and is expandable up to 16GB through utilizing the microSD card slot. This is a slider phone and it seems as though the keyboard slides in and out very smoothly.

The keyboard is easy to use and it has large keys with enough space in between to make it easy to use and very comfortable. Even though the phone is made from plastic and is extremely durable and solid. It has some of the same qualities as the LG Cookie, such as the S-Class UI. It is a touchscreen phone and it seems to be a relatively smooth process. It does have a virtual keyboard along with several buttons including receiving and ending calls and another one to help in performing a variety of tasks.

The Unlocked LG GW525 has a three-megapixel camera, although it does not have an onboard flash. It also has video capability and music playback is great for all of your favorite music. It also comes with earphones and has external speakers. It may not have enough power for business purposes, however it is a great smart phone for those performing day-to-day functions. It will allow you to connect with all of your social media and the messaging applications are great. The talk time and standby times the battery life is fairly standard and it does support Bluetooth. This is an economical phone and more work just fine for just about any cell phone user.

  • Review: LG KF390 Unlocked Phone
Posted on May 3, 2010 by Pure Mobile

The LG KF390 unlocked is a great slider  Phone that has been made to help those that might live in rural areas. However, it also works really well for those living in the urban setting as well. It is a solid unit that will get the job done and is fairly easy to use. This was one of the first HSDPA 7.2 Mbps cellular phones to utilize the Telstra’s Blue Tick, which enabled users not to have an external antenna in the regional coverage areas.

It is compact and sleek in its design and seems to be very durable. The spring, which opens the slider, is well made and very responsive. The only downside to this particular phone is that the front of the phone will be a haven for fingerprints. You may want to make sure that you have some of those screen cloths as you may have to keep it clean in order to see. It does come with a small keypad and the bonus is the keys are raised and easy to use. There are also some touch sensitive keys and shortcuts as well.

The Unlocked LG KF390 does have some basic web browsing but you may have some minor difficulties looking at some of the websites that have not been configured for mobile phones. It does have the basic multi-media functions and includes a music player but will not support A2DP Bluetooth. It does have the T9 predictive text input, a two megapixel camera and all the other tools such as the alarm clock, calendar, tasks and calculator. It will allow you to stay in contact with all of your social media as well as check on your email, send text messages and instant messaging. It is a cost effective handset and will provide you all of the basic functions.

  • While there has been a recent Apple iPhone announcement about the upcoming iPhone OS 4 that is going to include multitasking there is still something for those Verizon faithful to get excited about.  It appears as if Verizon is set to launch some brand new devices that are sure to get many mobile phone fans excited.  Some websites are reporting screen shots of the BlackBerry Bold 9650 and LG Fathom finally making their way into Verizon’s internal systems.

While the BlackBerry Bold 9650 release has been widely publicized the Fathom VS750 has not.  This new global Windows Phone with a QWERTY slider, 3.2 inch WVGA display and 3.2 megapixel camera is sure to be a big hit among Verizon Wireless’ faithful.  If you add in the fact that Verizon released a teaser stating six new devices are hitting the market very soon then this all sounds like really exciting news.  With these two devices being seen in Verizon’s internal system we can probably assume that the wait for the other six devices will be short.

BlackBerry Bold™ 9000 Black Factory Refurbished Unlocked GSM Cellular Phone

The announcement by Verizon Wireless that six more devices are set to hit the market came as a great surprise to many mobile device consumers.  It has been a while since Verizon has released several new phones so this announcement was probably a little bit overdue.  While there is considerable buzz about what these new phones will look like and what sorts of features they will include one thing is for sure and that is consumers will be able to get their hands on a BlackBerry Bold 9650 or LG Fathom in the very near future.  I personally can not wait to get a look at these two new devices and see what other goodies Verizon has in store.

  • LG Rumor Touch Launching March 28
Posted on March 30, 2010 by Pure Mobile

Sprint recently announced that the LG Rumor Touch will be available starting March 28th.  The cost of this new phone is set at $79.99 with a new two year contract and $50 mail in rebate.  The LG Touch is set to be one of the better cell phones on the market.  Specs for the Touch include a 3 inch WQVGA touchscreen, 2.0 megapixel camera and camcorder, microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB as well as Google search and 3G data capabilities operating on the Sprint EVDO Rec. 0 network.

    LG Mobile Cell Phones
The LG Touch also offers access to Sprint Navigation, Sprint TV, Sprint Music and Sprint Mobile Email with personal and corporate calendar features.  With the initial launch of the LG Touch on the 28th the phone is set to be released in a blue color.  Two additional colors red and purple are set to be released starting April 18th.
The LG Rumor Touch has been one of the highly anticipated  phones in recent months.  With its full list of features the LG Rumor Touch is set to be a classic phone for anyone looking to purchase a new device on a budget.  The 3 inch touchscreen and 2.0 megapixel camera are more than enough power for the casual user while the mircoSD card supporting up to 32GB is a nice addition for even the power users.  With that sort of memory capabilities you will certainly be able to take a lot of pictures and videos to store on your phone while carrying around all of your music with you wherever you go.  I am wondering if LG plans to release this phone in any other colors besides blue, red and purple after the second set of phones are released on April 28th?
