  • LG unlocked cell phone has allowed for several hands on reviews of their new Optimus Black and Optimus 2X devices. Just before the Consumer Electronics Show, it is clear that most companies will be looking to build hype for their devices and one of the most popular trends for this year is to allow hands on review of these devices.

The Optimus 2X was the star of the hands on review, featuring a NVideo Tegra 2 dual core processor that runs at 1GHz in each of the cores. It is a very powerful mobile device that should be at the forefront of pushing the envelope forward. And offering processors that are the strength that was normally reserved for computers. The graphics on the device looked great, as did the screen. It is able to handle all that is asked of it from Android and moves very smoothly from one screen to another. The HDMI out port looks great when it is connected to displays up to 42 inches in size and no quality is lost on the conversion.

The Optimus Black also received rave reviews. It’s 1 GHz OMAP3630 processor paled in comparison to the Tegra, but was still plenty powerful to run Android and all that it requires. It is much thinner than the Tegra, and as a result is much more light. It is a well-manufactured and designed device that fits comfortably in the pocket.

The Optimus Blacks were also running Froyo, which is a highly hyped version of the Android operating system that allows the device to connect to other Android devices and transfer files peer to peer through long range connections. It also has a front facing, 2 megapixel camera that allows you to video chat as has become popular with many other devices.

Overall, both devices looked great and provided the features that everyone was looking for, exceeding expectations in the case of the 2x.

  • HTC unlocked phones has made another mammoth announcement, just in time for the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show. The HTC EVO 4G will be receiving another model of the phone, and this time on a completely new carrier. The phone will feature a 4.3 inch touch screen display and will be called the Inspire 4G, running on a 4G network provided by AT&T.

The announcement comes just days before the Consumer Electronics Show. Many companies have opted to make their announcements prior to the show to build anticipation for the booths and event that will take place at the show. Along with the excellent LCD display, the phone will also offer an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 1 GHZ CPU that should enable it to run just about any app available. It will also utilize the Android 2.2 operating system that features HTC’s customized Sense UI, which allows users to use a “Find my Phone” feature that is very similar to the feature that was recently released by Apple for their unlocked iPhone 4.

HTC continues to impress in the days leading up to the Consumer Electronics Show, and has made a number of huge announcements including the development of their own tablet device.

It will be interesting to see how much hype this announcement receives, especially considering that the phone has already been released. The upgraded features should draw a few new users over to the phone, but the fact that it will be released on a new carrier with 4G capabilities is undoubtedly the biggest draw of the device.

The Inspire 4G is a huge upgrade for a device that has already been immensely popular throughout its history. HTC might be the underdog in the saturated mobile market, but they continue to impress with wonderful deals and excellent devices that push the ever expanding envelope for the company.

  • HTC Scribe Unveiled in February
Posted on January 5, 2011 by Pure Mobile

HTC is a company that is known for delivering excellent mobile devices to their customers, but also has not attracted as much attention as some of the other companies within the same space. Now, it appears that the company will be making the official unveiling of their new HTC Scribe tablet device at the MWC in February. A number of sources close to the company have said that they will be making the announcement about their 7 inch screen tablet in Barcelona in February. Some have already speculated that the tablet device will be more popular broad than it will here in the states, but that doesn’t mean that it couldn’t rise to popularity in the west as well.

The HTC Scribe will reportedly run the Android 3.0 software, a few ticks below the latest version. This information was reportedly leaked by the Taiwanese parts manufacturer that has been working with HTC unlocked phones to build the device over the course of the last few months.

HTC is known for being a company that was one of the first to utilize the Android operating system for their devices, and in some instances can even be credited with helping Android rise to the popularity that it has now. HTC has yet to develop a tablet device and the Scribe will be the first offering by the company.

Although it won’t be as feature loaded as the PlayBook and other tablets that are set to hit the market here soon, the Scribe is expected to be one of the most popular tablet choices on the market as soon as it is released. HTC hopes to snatch up niche markets of users that are looking to find a tablet that will allow them to browse Flash websites, a feature that is missing from the iPad.

  • The Motorola Olympus will be announced next week at the CES 2011 show according to sources close the company. AT&T will be holding their first press conference about the gadget sometime next week. The handset has been highly anticipated since the first images of the mobile device made their way online just a few weeks ago. It is known for its excellent display, solid processing power and also provides amazing performance. The size of the touch screen is huge, and is much larger than many of the other similar phones in the same price range.

The phone will reportedly be running on the new Android 2.3 Gingerbread software that has become so popular in recent months. No official confirmation has been made so far but it is believed that the phone will sport the newest version of the Android software. The size of the screen will be the main draw for most who are considering the purchase of the phone.

It will be interesting to see if the Motorola Olympus is able to sell as well as the previous Android Motorola Unlocked Phones. A lot of hype has been built around the device since the first leaks regarding it made their way online a few months ago. At the time, it was said that the phone would be looking at a December or January release date, but it has become clear that the announcement will come this month and consumers can expect the release of the Olympus to come a bit later. There is still the chance that the phone could launch at the end of January, although most companies opt to launch their devices at least a month following the official announcement, which is slated to come at CES 2011, which should be a hot bed for new mobile announcements next week.

  • Android Market Adds AT&T Billing App
Posted on December 28, 2010 by Pure Mobile

Google has announced that they will be releasing a new feature for their marketplace along with a number of applications. As of now, the AT&T Direct Carrier Billing application is now available to AT&T customers that are using some of the multiple Android devices such has HTC Desire, Samsung Captivate i897 unlocked on their network. The service would let users use their accounts, and connect them with their AT&T billing accounts to allow them to more easily pay their mobile bills.

App purchases now can be billed to their provider accounts, allowing them to pay their app bills in bulk at the end of the month. This benefits both the user and the company because it allows users to run up larger tabs on apps when they do not realize what they have spent, but also allows the users to take care of their app payments in bulk, one time at the end of the month. This is a service that has become increasingly common over the course of the last few months, and the AT&T implementation is something that has been rumored for a very long time.

The app was made available to T-Mobile subscribers earlier in the month. Google will likely explore similar opportunities in the near future because this sort of subscription service will definitely increase app sales on mobile devices. Allowing users to not see the damages until the end of the month, or at least delay their payments on a credit-style system and including them in with their provider bills will make the payment process easier but will also make it easier for them to overspend.

It will be interesting to see how well the customers respond to a move like this. It is a drastic change in the way that business is done in the mobile space and will take some getting used to on the user end of the spectrum.

  • The Tonino Lamborghini Evoluzione will be running on the Android operating system and will provide users with capabilities that were not in the previous version of the device. Although most in the industry consider the unlocked cell phone to be a tad bit overpriced, there is no denying the service that comes with the Evoluzione. The Lamborghini smart devices have been considered to be very high quality, and are more so for the crowd that is looking for a richer smart device experience.

The phone only comes with a 3.2 inch HVGA display, and runs on a 600 MHz processor which will make the device undeniably underpowered when compared to some of the other big brand names phones that have been released in recent weeks. the phone certainly does not live up to its automotive name, and does not provide what you would expect from something that has a Lamborghini brand name.

The phone will cost a total of $600, which is more than $700 reduced from the previous price. But even at $600, you are still paying a lot more for the brand name than you ever would the phone. It would be more worth the money if they were able to offer a little incentive to purchase the phone. For the price, you would expect a Lamborghini to have some sort of sleek design that would make it stand out from the crowd, but that is not the case here. The phone, by all accounts, other than the name of course is about as plain as they come. Although they will be marketed to those that own their cars, they will also be available for purchase for individuals that do not own a Lamborghini motor vehicle as well. Don’t expect this phone to gain much in the way of popularity; the price tag is simply too high.

  • HTC HD7 Best Offering From HTC Yet
Posted on December 15, 2010 by Pure Mobile

The HTC HD7 has garnered a lot of attention from the mobile community, and for good reason; it might just be the best device that HTC has offered the public yet. Known for its huge display and excellent touchscreen technology, the Unlocked HTC HD7 smoothly runs the Windows Phone 7 operating system with ease and rarely shows any signs of being bogged down. It is easily one of the most highly anticipated phones on the market.

Its 1GHz Snapdragon processor and 578 MB of RAM ensure that you will never have problems with the speed of the device. Although Windows Phone 7 does call for a lot in terms of hardware and speed in order to run it, the HD7 seems to handle the task perfectly and is one of the best devices to come loaded with the operating system to date.

Along with its huge screen, the phone also comes with a kickstand on the back for your viewing pleasure. It is clear that they were attempting to take hold of the media-loving market, and they have released the perfect phone to do so. The 4.2 inch display is large enough for you to comfortably watch movies and video on.

HTC HD7 unlocked handset comes complete with 16 GB of hard drive space, which should be more than enough but unfortunately is not expandable at this time. Releases outside of the US with only receive 8 GB of storage that is also non-expandable.

One of  htc  largest complaints about the phone has been that the panel that was used can make it awkward to see the screen from some angles in certain lighting environments. While this is a small complaint, it certainly is a warranted one for a phone that comes complete with a kickstand and has been marketed as the perfect phone for media viewing.

  • The HTC Evo Shift 4G is a device that has been highly anticipated by fans of the manufacturer. The device will be released on several different carriers under a variety of names including the HTC Knight and HTC Speedy, and with the release of a number of  cell phone accessories shots last week, it appears as though we can start to brace ourselves for the release of the device.

The images that were released last week show a number of different features of the phone. First of all, it will have a four-line QWERTY keypad for speedier texting. The second image that was released also showed the phone in a protective case. The case does appear to add a lot to the size of the phone but the fact that the phone will feature a QWERTY keyboard has already ensured that it will be more hefty than the previous EVO 4G.

Following the release of the photos a rumored release date for the phone also made its way online; January 9th. Early estimates for the release of the phone stated that it would be released on January 6th, and the switch to a 9th release would match up with the previous Sunday launches that HTC has unveiled.

The addition of the slide out QWERTY keyboard is something that will make the device much more viable for business, or simply for those of us that prefer the keypad over a touch screen. This version of the phone will have a smaller display, at 3.7 inches, than the HTC Evo 4G that was released by Sprint. The HTC Evo Shift 4G will reportedly come standard with Android 2.2, but could potentially even see 2.3 following the announcement of 2.3 Gingerbread. All of the details regarding the unlocked cell phone should be seen as speculative at this point, but it is clear that we are inching ever-closer to the release of this highly anticipated phone.

  • Although the Android app platform is easily the most popular app marketplace for unlocked Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Android devices, a number of third party app marketplaces have sprung up over the course of the last few months that often include apps that are specially designed for certain carriers, manufacturers and specific devices. It’s easy to see why these app stores have increased in popularity; they allow users to immediately see what apps are available for their device and to quickly and easily sift through them to find the ones that they would like. Google recently announced that they would be making some changes to their app marketplace to make it easier to navigate and find apps. Even with the changes to the official Google Android Marketplace, they still have not made things as easy on users as some of the third party app marketplaces.

Appsfire features a main screen that features several different lines of apps. The sections that it shows you can be customized, and some of the categories include featured apps, apps whose prices have been slashed, hot apps for the day, top free apps and top free games.

The main screen constantly changes to show you what is available, hot and new. One problem with the app is that it just shows you the icon for each of the app, which can make it hard to tell which app you are looking at as the marketplace does not display the names of any of the apps until you have selected it.

The “Discover” tab allows you to quickly search through the apps in a list format, which most users should find to be easier to use than the home screen. The list format provides the name and a short description of the app.

Appsfire looks promising, and certainly makes the large collection of Android apps easier to sift through, but has not made the process as simple as it could be. As of right now the home screen seems to be a little bit cluttered, but will allow you to search through more apps in a shorter period of time.

  • Using A HTC Surround Unlocked
Posted on December 6, 2010 by Pure Mobile

In a world that is completely dominated by technology smart phones or android phones are certainly one of the most impressive inventions of recent years. Almost every phone manufacturer has now entered into this market and one of the newest is the HTC Surround. The look and the feel of this new smart phone are truly stunning and it has an extremely smooth finish that makes the phone feel extremely pleasant when held in the hand. Having a sleek and stylish design is paramount to a phones success in the current competitive climate.
If you purchase an unlocked HTC surround handset, you will immediately realize that it is rather heavy. The phone actually weighs around 6 ounces, which is considerably heavier than many of the other smart phones that are available on today’s market, but it has many features that are the cause of the extra weight. The phone has some excellent Yamaha speakers that are skillfully hidden behind the screen. This unique android phone is also fitted with a handy kickstand that allows the user to prop the phone up while watching movies on the smart phone. When you are enjoying using the movie watching feature of the phone it is important to engage the SRS WOW HD and Dolby feature. Doing this will vastly improve both the picture and the sound quality. The sound quality that the speakers produce is far superior to any other phones on the current market.

The screen is an impressive 3.8 inches and has an excellent resolution of 480x800p. This is as good as you can attain on any of the other touch screen phones today. The touch screen technology that is obviously paramount with any smart phone works well and the speed between different screens and applications is as quick as any of its competitors.

All modern phones today must be equipped with a high level of multimedia features and the HTC surround unlocked phone is no different. The HTC surround unlocked has a very good 5 megapixel camera that is also capable of filming High definition video footage. Both of these features are relatively easy to master. The surround also has the obligatory internet access that allows you to link straight into FaceBook or Twitter to constantly keep your status updated. The phone also allows you to add pictures to your profile with ease. Overall, this smart phone is an excellent product and should be able to rival some of the bigger players within the market place.
