  • Why Are Dummy Phones So Cheap?
Posted on February 3, 2009 by Pure Mobile

Cell phones are now available at exclusive stores where users can easily choose a cell phone they like. As a large number of people visit these stores everyday, it is not possible for the store owners to keep real cell phones in the open as there is a great chance of these being stolen. Also, as each customer wants to see and feel the mobile phone, it becomes inconvenient for the store owners to agree to every customer’s demand.

Dummy mobile phones are the ideal solution to this problem as these phones are cheap, replaceable and give the customer the exact feel of the real mobile phone. Being the exact replica of the real mobile phones, the dummy mobile phones have clickable buttons, sliding action and flip covers just like the original models of the phones. Almost all shops have taken to displaying dummy mobile phones because of their numerous benefits. Here are some reasons why dummy mobile phones are ideal for display in mobile shops:

Less chance of theft: When the thieves know that there are only dummy mobile phones on display, they will refrain from stealing these phones. In case a dummy phones is stolen, it can be easily replaced by another dummy phone. These phones cost almost nothing when compared to a real phone and many times mobile companies supply the retailers with these phones too.

Customer satisfaction: Customers can hold the dummy mobile phone in their hand and get a feel of it. As the weight, the buttons, and the shape of the dummy phones is similar to the real phone, it gives the customer a complete idea about what kind of phone he will be buying.

As a sample product: The dummy mobile phones can also be used as a sample product. In case a shop is not stocking a real mobile phone, they can always show the customer the dummy mobile phone to give the customer a fair idea about the shape, size, and weight of the dummy phone. A real phone can be easily arranged once the customer is satisfied with the dummy mobile phone.

Puremobile carries a select line of dummy phones.  If you are looking for any please contact us as we can see if we can source what you need.

  • Mobile phones have become an essential communication tool in today’s world. There are several kinds of mobile phones available in the market and many users choose to buy cheap mobile phones because of their simple functions and affordable prices. These mobile phones are the best for users who want to use the device for basic communication and have no use for advanced features found in high priced mobile phones. Almost all mobile phone manufacturers have a number of cheap mobile phones in the catalogue as these models appeal to the consumers who want a simple phone. Another advantage of cheap mobile phones is that these help in establishing a consumer base for the mobile phone manufacturer. Here are a few guidelines you can follow when buying a cheap mobile phone:

Features: Go for the basic features which include calling, phone book, text messages, calculator, alarm system, mono-phonic or polyphonic ring tones. Avoid advanced features like mp3 player, camera, Bluetooth, and internet services.

Research: Before buying the cell must do a lot of research on the prices for the particular brand of cell phone. There are various sites on the internet that sell mobile phones at different prices. You can a do comparison as it is possible that you might get the same model from another seller at much lower price.

Special Deals: There are many special deals which are available in the sellers. Cheap mobile phones are available with pre-paid plans where the phone can be used with one service provider only. Such deals are ideal for users who do not want to pay a large sum for a mobile phone.

Discounted Rates: You can also search for mobile phones on discounted prices as in holiday seasons many manufacturers offer mobile phones at low prices. If you are buying more than one phone, then also many online stores offer a discount on the total price

Puremobile.com offers a wide selection of low end phones that fit in to your budget.  If you have a price range you can use our phone finder located on the left hand side of the webpage or call one of our representatives.

  • Puremobile's New Contest
Posted on January 23, 2009 by Pure Mobile

It's Friday again and this time we want to announce a new on-going "contest" we are having here at puremobile.  We want to make the Friday post user generated.  We want you, the Puremobile customers to give us your reviews.  Every Friday we will choose one  review submission to post to our website and at the end of each month we will draw a name from the postings and give away a phone or accessory.

    So the rules are simple.

    - You will email adam@puremobile.com with your reviews and with the subject Weekly Review Contest.

    - The phone has to be a phone that you are currently using.

    - It has to be a current phone. What we mean is that it can't be a cell that you bought several years ago and can't be bought anywhere

    - The phone has to be available for purchase on our website.  The phone has to be either available or instock on our site

    - The posting should be detailed and 500 words minimum.  It should give your experiences both good and bad with the phone.  Anything you think you would want to know before buying it should be there.

    - Use spell check.  We will not consider posts that are not properly edited

Remember you are posting so other readers can get a genuine opinion of it.  We want our customers to know all the ins and outs of what they are going to buy and who better to learn this from then other users and site visitors  If there is an thing about your phone that makes it the best phone, we want to know.  If there is something bad it tell us.  We won't edit or omit a posting because it speaks negatively about a phone.

Below is our first post from a vistor named Pilar

Sony Ericsson C905: it’s all about the picture CRAZE!

C905 Cyber-shot is like having a Sony’s Cybershot camera in the automatic mode.  It is the perfect phone to take pictures of anything, anywhere.   Finally we are talking about photo quality with its 8.1 megapixel camera, autofocus, digital image stabilizer etc. It can even detect faces and has a Xenon Flash! With Sony Ericsson C905 there is no need for a camera… it has all the basics for a good picture and light videos.  Plus it has a built-in GPS receiver which geotags your phone’s photos automatically.  You can also handle and share your pictures, as well as video blog directly from your phone with its Sony Ericsson's BestPic and Smart Contrast support.

It is a perfect dual mix of phone and camera in that is impressively pocket friendly.  I was very surprised of how of how small and practical this phone can be considering it has a Cybershot 8.1 camera with all the features mentioned before. Obviously is a bit bigger and thicker than other Sony Ericsson phones, but this is a camera at the same time, therefore the size has to be slim and small but not too slim and not too  small because then it becomes difficult to handle it as a camera!

  • GSM Defined
Posted on October 21, 2008 by Pure Mobile

One thing that we most often get questions on at PureMobile is regarding the GSM network and what it is.  The reason is there are two networks CDMA and GSM.  The main difference to find out which you have is locate the sim card, a small chip in the phone that contains all your information.  If you have this card then you likely have GSM.  Now we say likely as some carrier’s like Sprint have a walkie-talkie type network (NexTel) and they use a “sim card” but it’s for Sprint’s CDMA network.

GSM phones can be unlocked because the sim card can be removed and placed into another phone without having to call the carrier to activate it.  CDMA needs to have each phone activated by the carrier on the network to operate.  This limits the phones you can use.

Another difference is that GSM phones are much more widely available.  GSM networks are found throughout the world.  They each use different bands but they are all GSM.  CDMA can be found primarily in North America and a few other countries.

As we just mentioned GSM use bands or frequencies.  There are four frequencies that are used most frequently.  They are the 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz and the 1900 MHz bands.  In North America the two widely available are the 850 MHz and the 1900 MHz.

So the question is which type of phone should you choose?  Well it depends on where you plan on using the phone.  If you are going to use it in North America then you can simply get any phone that uses the 850 MHz and 1900 MHz bands and you should have no problems.  If you plan to travel then you would be best to get a quad band phone, which is a phone that can work on all four of the bands.  This gives you the least chance of running into a problem with no signal.

More and more phones these days are coming as quad band phones so you don’t have to limit yourself.  You can get one phone and use it the world over.
