The company has moved lightning fast since signing agreements with Microsoft last year with Nokia Lumia cell phones winning some great nods of approval.

Based on the announcement that Nokia will be launching its first Window mobile OS smartphone with T-Mobile in the United States, which will allow Nokia to extend market breadth and reach wider consumer base. Noted as an important part of their strategy, the next few months of product releases and announcements are bound to keep the good press rolling.

While it does not have quite the jaw-dropping specs and capabilities as their flagship Lumia 900, which will be launching with AT&T in March…  the Nokia 710 smartphone will be available for $50.  Walmart will have it available for free with a service contract.  This will further expand Nokia’s to capture the consumers that want transition from their current feature phone to a smartphone. Alas, all good things must come to an end. Or at least to a pause. In Microsoft’s keynote speech which was delivered by the charismatic CEO, Steve Ballmer, wherein he  announced that in the foreseeable future Microsoft would not be attending the CES event. This certainly captured the audience’s attention. The Windows Phone 7 and how it flips the focus to the consumer by making it people centric (i.e. the vision behind their smartphone’s mobile platform creation). Showing their strength in not only manufacturing their own device, but also integrating the OS with other phone manufacturers, the audience got a peek at Nokia cell phone line up which includes Lumia 710 and Lumia 800.

This has the whispers of “unlocked cell phone” to their smartphone strategy. The degree that Google Android has employed this has been a factor in its swift global growth. In pairing with other vendors and letting its mobile OS win over customers in conjunction with unlocked devices, they have a greater chance of catching up on some major market shares.

The presentation continued into ASUS tablets and then into the very exciting Xbox / Kinect technology. Interactive, they have touched on another love of consumers: streamlining devices and gaining meaningful, real world technology. The Kinect can be used as an accessory of sorts to the Lumia 900 (or perhaps the other way around?!). The demos were seriously cool and would challenge even the most dedicated Luddite to play and marvel.

This shows that the device would be able to debut on a number of different carriers, so narrowing that down is going to be tough until more details are released. The device will also feature a QWERTY sliding keyboard that suggests based on the layout that the device will be available in the US or Canada.

Some have suggested based on the specs that the device might be a great device to run on the Windows Phone 7 platform, although no information regarding that can be released.  The device is a promising one, but not a lot has been released about it, until this FCC file made its way online.

A number of different phones have become known to the public in this way, and you can bet that it will be not be the last time either. Although nothing is concrete at this point, the fact that the paperwork has been filed to the FCC shows that there is a fairly great chance that the device could see the light of day some time in the near future.

The unlocked  Nokia N9 was a phone that a lot of people were excited about when the first details were released, but it quickly died down when it looked like the phone was never going to see the light of day. Now that things have changed, perhaps there will be a buzz for the device again.

Reportedly, Facebook hired the PR firm Burson-Marsteller to release information to journalists about the fact that Google has been retaining personal information about users and using it ways that they have not made clear.

There is only one thing that this could possibly mean – Google has something here that Facebook feels is a threat to them. Just when it appeared that Facebook was going to be able to take over the whole of the Internet through integrating their services into websites around the web, you can bet that Google is not going to be going down without a fight. Their plan unravelled when a blogger that they sent the emails to decided to publish the emails online. This is something that they definitely should have seen coming and definitely was a miscalculation on their part.

This is not the first time that both companies have faced off and although they both deny their never ending feud in public, their actions have made their attention more than clear in most cases. This is one of the most direct attacks that either company has taken on the other, so you can bet that they will be retaliating at some point and time for this direct attack against Google.

The album will use phones GPS to track where you are. They have hundreds of tagged zones that allow you to play certain songs when you are in the given zone. It will be the first location aware album that has ever been released, and will be available on iOS device such as iphone 4 unlocked and ipad.

At the very least, it is a very interesting take on how to make an album in an industry that has really taken a hit due to Internet privacy. Are you looking to hear a certain melody that corresponds with the area that you are in? Take a walk and go to a different monument to hear different songs.

Soem have suggested that because you can not listen to every track whenever you want, that the app and album will not sell all that well. At the very least, you might want to give it a look. If you like the music and are in the DC area, BlueBrain offers great sounds that truly will give you the perfect music for any given monument that you are at.

Some sources have stated that the “dickbar” was a mistake from the very beginning. The idea had been put together by a junior project manager and had not been approved by a leading executive at the company when it went live. Pinning the bar at the top of the app may not have been the best idea for the young junior manager, as the backlash resulted in a lot of bad press for the company.

This move shows that twitter has not fully decided how they are going to be monetizing their service. Many users are going to be happy with the ad bar being removed from their app on their Apple iphone 4 unlocked. Once the transaction is completely closed, Dreampark will be integrated into their business and will cease to exist as its own entity. The purchase will allow the company to have a broader portfolio and will also allow them to increase their customer base moving forward.

It will contesting to see what kind of technologies come about as a result of the acquisition. There were no rumors about Motorola looking at DreamPark previous to this and it seemed to come out of nowhere from an industry standpoint. Could this be a start of flurry of acquisitions for their software suite, or will this single acquisition be enough for the company moving forward.

“This transaction enables us to continue to enhance our Medios software portfolio and capitalize upon the convergence of wireless technology,” said the Motorola VP John Burke, who addressed the media following the announcement of the acquisition. This seems to be in the best interest of both companies and shows that Motorola is dedicated to making sure that their software suite is packed chalk-full of useful software.

NEC is a company that has mostly dabbled in both fingerprints and face recognition technology. Now it appears that they are substantially expanding their horizons to include new objects, including fruit.

The photos of the fruit will be compared on the back end to the other fruit that has photos stored in the database at NEC. The company has said that that the error rate when they tested 1,800 Andes melons was about one in one million. The number is a bit hard to believe, but is very impressive none the less.

The company has stated that their technology will let their unlocked iphone 4 users to get a better idea of where their fruit comes from. This is technology that has not been too thoroughly tested, but in the statements that have been released from NEC, it appears that they have a reliable product with a wide enough database to effectively identify many different kinds of fruit, if the Andes melons are any type of indication. The company has said that they do not expect their complete system to be available for at least another year or two, but their early results are quite promising. If the app is successful, expect to see more like it here soon.

Now the version 3.3.1 is live for the first time. Most of the main upgrades that were included in the update fixed some of the more common crashing issues that have been reported with the app. Also included in the app update were a number of security fixes. These were accompanied by some improved performance updates that should make the app much more usable and phones that do not have the heavy hardware that the top notch phones do.

The total upgrade is a little bit more than six megabytes in the app store. some of the older versions of the app were also phased out with the update, but those versions were quite early so if you have updated any time recently then you have nothing to worry about.

Users that had trouble with the update have already taken to the iphone 4 unlocked and other iOS devices and have found some fixes for the update issues. Many users choose to use a third party Twitter application instead of the main one so that might keep some from noticing the same issues.
