  • It might sound a little outlandish, but American Eagle is giving out free smartphones if you try on some of their jeans. This is true as they have just launched an offer where you can try on their garments and you will be eligible to fill in a form and can choose from a huge selection of smartphones which you can have for free providing you sign a two year long contract with the carrier. This will help you save a minimum of $100 in the least and it is definitely a good offer if you had been looking to buy a new smartphone as it is.

The phones that they are offering are the HTC Aria, LG Ally and even Blackberry phones of the nature of the  Blackberry  Unlocked Curve 8520 and the Bold. Other than these, there are also the Motorola Cliq XT, Backflip and the Devour. Therefore, we are really excited with this rather nice deal the company is giving. Although we still think that a pair of Levis is unbeatable. So what you have to do is that you try on the jeans and you will get the details that you will need to go online. Register and select the phone that you want and the carrier, yes they allow you to pick your carrier and all that is left for you to do is to wait for FedEx delivery to get it to your home.

Fred Grover, executive vice president of marketing in American Eagle, has mentioned how they want to ensure that their customers are satisfied and go back home with not only a good pair of jeans but also a new smartphone. Other than this, the company has also said that they hope that this will show how confident they are in their line of garments and it will surely bring in more valued customers to their side.

  • If you happen to be a Blackberry Smartphone’s fan and have remained loyal to the brand in spite of the presence of other better and technologically more advanced smart phones then it’s time for you to smile because you have the British royal family as company. The royal family is said to be addicted to their Blackberry’s and even the Queen is an ardent fan of the device. The frenzy surrounding the brand is not a rare phenomenon and in recent months it has encircled almost entirely on the soon to-be launched Blackberry Curve 9300. Various rumors about the features and date of launch have been leaked in the Internet adding to its appeal. But it seems like the wait for the highly anticipated Blackberry Curve is about to be over soon because it has earned its broadcast license from the FCC which includes support for both its CDMA and AWS devices.

The rumors and mostly false information about the Blackberry Curve 9300 has shrouded it in mystery leaving an enthusiast confused about its various features. For example certain very basic details about the device which is code-named “Kepler” like whether it has 256 MB or 512 MB of application memory or whether it will be launched with OS 5 or OS 6 is still unclear. Other details like whether the camera will be increased to a 3.2-mega pixel also cannot be said without a doubt. Although it is expected of T-Mobile to pick up the 9300 device, as to which carrier will take up the CDMA 9300 cannot also be confirmed.

From the initial pictures that were leaked in the Internet, the device seemed to look like its predecessors, the 8500 series. In fact the device is similar in design to the Unlocked Blackberry Curve 8520 with a 2.4-inch screen and a QWERTY keyboard courtesy classic Blackberry. However the fans will be eagerly waiting to see if the 9300 is after all as the critics say, only an iterative advancement. But renowned for its strong email capabilities and taking into consideration all the added features that this device is said to incorporate the Blackberry Curve 9300 doesn’t seem like something that is going to let you down.

  • The T-Mobile company which has launched the Unlocked  Blackberry Curve ( 9300 ) which is better known as the Blackberry Curve has now been spotted in a new metallic purple color which appears much better on the surface from the earlier metal finish mobile phone body which it had earlier.

The Blackberry curve adds to its popularity as it is really easy to use. In fact it is one of the easiest to use Blackberries which are in the market. This new color which we have seen along with its user friendly working makes this one a good buy. Although for one who may be looking for complex functionalities, they will be a tad bit disappointed. The photographs that we have received are of a purple ‘Kepler’ which is fresh out of the packaging.

The memory for this mobile is supposed to be 256 MB. However from what we gather, it will not be carrying more than 128 MB which is somewhat disappointing. However you can install a SD card which you can use for your apps and music and videos that you might want to keep on your phone. There is provision for the platform for OS 6 as has been promoted before its release, but the version we have received contains OS 5. If you are looking for further features on this phone then you will be provided with 624 MHz processor and a 3.2 mega pixel camera. Furthermore there is of course the feature of Wi-Fi b/g/n which this phone is supposed to carry.

This mobile phone is basically an upgraded version of the previously released Blackberry unlocked ( 8500 ) however with the OS 6 it will be a better draw. This smart phone is also available in a series of other colors which offer great combination which are suited for all purposes, be it business or the young buyer.

  • There is great news for the unlocked cell phone users in the USA as US Cellular has come out with their plans for the new line of phones that they will be coming out with during the rest of the year. They will also be releasing a large number of Android phones so as to ensure that all users will be satisfied.

Some of the phones which are slated for release by the US cellular are

    • Samsung Acclaim
    • HTC Desire, and a few more which have not been declared yet.

On the Android platform, there is a huge collection of QWERTY phones which are sure to be a success.

    • A LG phone (may be the Unlocked Galaxy S and the Ally) which comes with a large touch screen and smartly designed QWERTY keypad is due in October.
    • On the lower end side, US Cellular will be releasing the chunky Motorola Flipout which has full QWERTY keypad
    • There is also the LG Banter touch with a large 3 inch touch pad and QWERTY
    • Lastly there is the side sliding QWERTY device from Samsung which is possibly going to be the Restore.

We should however not be looking really too far in the future. The phone which is the earliest to come out and has caught my attention is the BlackBerry Clamshell 9670 phone which has full QWERTY. From what can be gathered, the BlackBerry 9670 will be running on OS 6. In terms of memory this phone is fully loaded with a 512 MB RAM and 4GB built in storage. To just serve as additional features, this phone is loaded with Wi-Fi accessibility and a 5 Mega pixel camera which makes this phone a good choice. This however, is almost certain to be released by Verizon as well. You can also check out the more traditional  BlackBerry Bold 9650 Unlocked Phone which will be coming out in August.

If you thought that queuing up for iPhone 4 is a madman’s task well you just haven’t yet got the hang of the frenzy surrounding the big launch. Here in the San Francisco main Apple store are gathered an assortment of gizmo lovers and techno fanatics to make a grab at the latest ‘big step’ in the unlocked mobile world. Meet Chris Bank. He has been right here, right at the head of the line since Monday to be the first person to buy the iPhone 4.

Bank said that he has been a faithful believer in the BlackBerry products but the amazing display, multitasking and design was enough to sway him out of the road. He strongly suggested that moving into the Apple products was a huge development for him and he is a firm believer. He chose this particular store as this was one of the very few which boasted its availability for even those who did not order it before hand.

Now to get down to the more excruciating yet vital details of Chris Bank’s camp in this Apple store. When hard-hitting questions were flung at him he answered that he uses the bathroom inside the store all day whenever required and holds it until the store re-opens in the morning. A few power bars, coffee with chocolate mix and a few other regular sustenance objects keeps him through. Chris Bank as it turns out is an independent tech consultant and with his MacBook to power him through has resorted to carry out his works with its help.

As expected, the limited number of iPhone 4 in the market is definitely going to make it big on eBay. Quite unsurprisingly Bank, who will be the first to buy the unlocked iPhone 4, will sell it to the highest bidder and the stakes are as high as $300!

  • Music WithMe quite a catch
Posted on June 28, 2010 by Pure Mobile

With the world in its stride to make itself smarter than ever, it is a nagging feeling when you can’t just jack your phone into your PC and sync your device with iTunes as smoothly as you can with your new unlocked iPhone 4. You would have to take recourse of some kind of mass storage devices or USB mode only to have to go through the rather groveling task of manually dragging and dropping all your music into your cell phone’s SD card. The whole task is rather unnecessary, not to mention tedious and time consuming. But the whole messy out-of-date process can disappear in the bat of an eyelid with the new BlackBerry. With the new Music WithMe you can sync your BlackBerry with iTunes totally wirelessly.

It’s $15 from BlackBerry App World, which might raise a few eyebrows but if you are tired of fidgeting around and manually synchronizing all your then you should get this application. So let’s just run a little check on what you are about to treat yourself to and what you can expect with this item.

Using Wi-Fi or even a cellular connection, you can easily and wirelessly sync your iTunes playlists to BlackBerry. Your playlist is automatically updated and any changes made on your playlist on iTunes will directly change on your BlackBerry. On June 24, 2010 Park Vu unveiled the Music WithMe for BlackBerry Smartphones thus totally wiping away the need for a USB connection or even any kind of secondary devices. With the help of Wi-Fi or a cellular connection you can also download music files from their iTunes collection to device on the go. And once the downloading completes no more data is used thus consuming lesser battery and as a direct impact your pocket feels a tad heavier. Co-CEO of Park Vu, Terry Goertz said that they were extremely excited on the launch of Music WithMe to the smartphones and also confirmed it is the easiest way to upload your unlocked smartphone with iTunes music. Music WithMe is available at $14.99 at BlackBerry App World.

  • Do you have an Unlocked Verizon BlackBerry Storm 9550 and have suddenly been facing certain problems in regards to some BlackBerry services? If so, then you are certainly not alone as reports have shown that users of unlocked versions of Verizon’s BlackBerry Storm have had their services mysteriously disabled. While it is still not certain as to why such services have been cut off, we believe that a single group has initiated this disable. It’s anybody’s guess as to who has cut off the service, whether T-Mobile, RIM or Verizon. Although some users have been able to get some form of data transfer working over EDGE, the main problem lies with the service books, which are mainly used for communications between RIM’s servers and the carrier. The Verizon BlackBerry Storm is also fitted with a SIM card slot that can be used for roaming n any 2G networks, even though it is primarily a CDMA mobile. This clearly shows that T-Mobile is now concerned with people also buying their phones and not just their services. Any support tickets that people submit to T-Mobile are simply answered with an inadequate “not our phone, not our problem”, which frankly if you ask me is just rude.

While such a type of blacklisting is not something that is characteristic of T-Mobile, it is similar to Verizon, which used to not allow GPS functions so that they could then only work on the subscription navigation plans of Verizon. While we are still guessing, it is possible that RIM and Verizon wanted to prevent any defectors for T-Mobile. There have been certain reports from users claiming that Verizon is not at all involved in such issues as Verizon and Vodafone are getting ‘friendly’ to the point that they are both interested in having this scenario work for them. We are still waiting for any official confirmation from T-Mobile on the issue.

The new Twitter for BlackBerry code is set to roll out “over the course of tonight and Thursday” according to RIM’s PR team.  The requirements to run this new application include a 64 MB BlackBerry smartphone, Twitter account and an Operating System of 4.5 or higher.

By the sounds of this update RIM has really done a number on their Twitter client.  These new features should make the lives of Twitter users much easier.
