Blackberry Presenter

March 16th, 2010

The latest accessory to lighten the load of your mobile office is the Blackberry Presenter.  Available with a contract or as an unlocked cell phone this device is a wireless presentation tool.  Your bulky laptop can stay home and you can still deliver the one-two punch of a Microsoft Power Point presentation.

The presenter is just about the same size as your Blackberry.  There are two ports to connect directly to your projector.  The ease of operation is surprising, with the touch of your menu button you can press the launch presenter application, find your file, and your Blackberry locates the Power Point presentation that you preloaded into your Blackberry.  You then press the present option on your phone, and the pairing wizard will link your Blackberry up to the presenter and projector you are using.  This is handy in case someone else is also doing a presentation in the same convention hall or meeting space.  When you verify the document and send, the file will transfer and you are ready to begin your presentation.

You can walk around while giving your presentation since the range on the wireless is 10 meters, or 30 feet with Bluetooth connection.  Freeze a frame in your presentation as you expand on the item you are speaking about is easy enough to do by holding down a button on your phone.  Your Blackberry can also hold speaker notes that you can see and the group you are addressing will not.  This hand-held accessory will make you look like a pro and give you the freedom and mobility to relax the group you are addressing thus making your presentation a hit.  You can set the presentation on loop and talk while the slide is operational or just leave the area if it is a convention stand-alone visual presentation.  Leave your laptop behind with a Blackberry Presenter setting up for a meeting just got easier.

The BlackBerry Curve 8520 Smartphone: Just Got More Affordable

December 4th, 2009

The BlackBerry Curve 8520 Smartphone is a less expensive version of some of the higher end BlackBerry Smartphones on the market. Priced at approximately $50.00 less than the BlackBerry Curve 8900, the excellent BlackBerry technology is now available to more people; even those on a tight budget.

If you have never owned a BlackBerry Smartphone, and are thinking about making the switch, then the BlackBerry Curve 8520 makes for a great starter model; it features many of the same qualities of the higher end phones, but does not cost so much that there is no going back in case you decide that it’s not for you. If it is a good match however, you will be familiar with the way a BlackBerry Smartphone works, and in time, you may decide to upgrade to the latest high-end model on the market.

blackberry-8520The BlackBerry Curve 8520 Unlocked Smartphone is also the first of the line to feature the Trackpad. This new feature replaces the BlackBerry Trackball, which functioned as the on-screen navigator, much like a mouse on a computer. The Trackpad is a small screen that detects motion in order to navigate the screen, which means that physical obstructions on the Trackball will no longer hinder on-screen navigation.

Additional features of the affordable BlackBerry Curve 8520 include the following:

• Screen that features over 65,000 colors, at a resolution of 320×240.
• Two mega pixel camera.
• Full QWERTY keyboard, that fits well into the palm of the hand, facilitating quick typing and texting.
• New dedicated media keys, allowing you to skip, pause, or repeat songs; plus special mute button to mute phone calls during listening.
• Fully compatible with Mac computers
• Downloadable BlackBerry App World

Blackberry Pearl 9100: Quick Review & Features

November 25th, 2009

Blackberry Pearl 9100, codenamed Striker or Stratus is a 3G phone and an updated version of BlackBerry Pearl 81xx Series Smartphone. It gets its styling from latest generation smartphones. The QWERTY setup has been reworked into SureType setup.

The new Pearl features a newly designed battery. Lovers of small handsets are going to have a bash at it because it is so attractive that you cannot put it down once you pick it. The SureType keyboard seems less cramped than it used to be.

It is going to pack 3G, Wifi, BlackBerry OS 5.0, the RIM optical trackball, and the mentioned keypad. However, we cannot find information regarding price and carrier, yet we can be sure that BlackBerry Pearl 9100 is surely in the pipeline.

It is non-touchscreen smartphone. In addition, it will be a successor of BlackBerry Pearl 8100. The photos were recently out and BlackBerry enthusiasts were delighted to see the new design. The new smartphone comes with a new keypad and a slimmer design. The battery too is newly designed to fit in the slimmer profile of the soon-to-be successor.

The images were made available recently through a website, courtesy Reach Internet Mobile (RIM). Apart from the basic features of a BlackBerry Pearl smartphone like, phone, camera, email, instant messaging, multimedia and organizer, the slimmer design and new keypad would be an attraction for the enthusiasts. The massively popular BlackBerry Pearl has been an instant hit earlier too.

An innovative keypad technology, SureType gets rid of the limitations of traditional mobile phone keypads. It uses an integrated keyboard and software system. The polished black slim design of BlackBerry Pearl 9100 is in the news and more updates on it will surely trickle down from the top ups.

It packs the slick exec looks of Bold 9700. For the time being let us keep our fingers crossed for the BlackBerry Pearl 9100.

T-Mobile Launches BlackBerry Bold 9700

November 17th, 2009

T- Mobile has given the busy business executive a new tool. That tool puts a gadget equipped with cutting edge technology at the fingertips of any such top executive, or any business person on the move. That gadget is the BlackBerry Bold 9700.

The person who invests in a BlackBerry Bold 9700 can feel confident that he or she will manage to keep up with the ongoing changes in the business world, even while forced to stay away from an office desk.  As long as the purchaser of this new gadget has access to BlackBerry data service, he or she can cease to worry about what might be happening, while filling the responsibilities that go with the enjoyment of a loving family.

Those who long to handle one of the new Bold 9700 “tools” can choose between two different purchase plans. One plan, costing $199.99 is called the Even More plan. The person who pays for that plan must also agree to a two year contract. The second plan comes with no annual contract.

However, the second plan is much pricier than the Even More plan. The reason for the price increase becomes evident in the name of the second plan: “Even More PLUS.” The absence of contract obligations represents an important part of that PLUS.

Of course no plan has the ability to help the owner and user of a Blackberry deal with one important drawback to any hand held device. It becomes almost impossible to hide your attention to that device while you are taking part in a family oriented activity. Perhaps the next announcement targeting BlackBerry owners will offer information on a tool that one can use quietly and unobtrusively while associating with friends and family.

Until the unveiling of such a device, the business world welcomes the Blackberry 9700.

Blackberry Bold 9700

September 23rd, 2009

So a first hand review of the Blackberry Bold 9700 has been posted by BoyGeniusReport.com and  it seems to be two thumbs up.  From what the review says this is going to be the best Blackberry phone to date.

It’s smaller then the Tour 9630 but bigger then the Curve 8900.  The Bold 9700 also does away with the trackball in favor of the trackpad that is found on the Curve 8520.  The testers seemed to love it.

The screen is apparently a great screen.  Actually they said the best one yet of any Blackberry.  It’s was clear and crisp and images seemed to float on the screen.

Best of all the battery seems to have the longest life of any 3G phone currently on the market.

I guess only time will tell what the phone is really like until it is finally released.  Expect to see it on PureMobile as soon as it is.

Robin Williams Take on Tech

August 19th, 2009

So last week Robin Williams was on Conan O’Brian.  Conan started asking him about what he thought about technology and Robin Williams ran with it.

He talked about online gaming, facebook, twitter and myspace.  He even makes a mention about Blackberry’s which he referred to as crackberry’s.

This is a must watch for anyone.  Caution though it is on late night TV.

Blackberry 9700 On T-Mobile

August 11th, 2009

So CrackBerry.com a Blackberry 9700 while at an airport.  The most interesting thing was that it was T-Mobile branded.  It looks like it’s going to be a nice phone.  Many people think this was the Blackberry 9020 Onyx that was seen a few months.  The Blackberry 9700 looks similar and has the leather backing like the Onyx and Bold do.  The 9700 also has 3G and WiFi.

From the previous specs on the Blackberry 9020 Onyx it does seem like this might actually be the first fully featured Blackberry.  One where nothing is missing.  Usually RIM forgets some feature or lowers it in every Blackberry but the new Blackberry 9700 seems to finally be fully featured.

Like crackberry said.. If you haven’t upgraded to the new Blackberry 8520 and your budget allows it then you might want to wait a bit and get teh new Blackberry 9700.

Good New For BlackBerry and Mac Fans

July 21st, 2009

So it’s been a long time coming but it looks like in September Max OS X users will finally get BlackBerry Desktop Manager.  All this comes from MobileCrunch.com

The nice thing is that Mac users will finally be able to sync their Blackberrys to their computer for various things.  They will be able to back up their contacts, do transfers when they buy a new phone, sync your iTunes play list, add / remove software.  Plus you will be able to update your Blackberry right from the computer

So this is great news.  Granted it’s taken many years considering Blackberrys and Mac have both become very popular, but better late then never, right?
