Today, RIM remains between a rock and a hard place. In the midst of continually weakening sales, the first PlayBook update is scheduled for February 2012; providing native email support and other PIM functionality, BBM is still proving to be a challenge and will not be part this 'fix'. There is no question that RIM has the talent to succeed in the modern smartphone market. It also has a user base that continues to grow with each quarter.
