  • Mobile phones have become an essential communication tool in today’s world. There are several kinds of mobile phones available in the market and many users choose to buy cheap mobile phones because of their simple functions and affordable prices. These mobile phones are the best for users who want to use the device for basic communication and have no use for advanced features found in high priced mobile phones. Almost all mobile phone manufacturers have a number of cheap mobile phones in the catalogue as these models appeal to the consumers who want a simple phone. Another advantage of cheap mobile phones is that these help in establishing a consumer base for the mobile phone manufacturer. Here are a few guidelines you can follow when buying a cheap mobile phone:

Features: Go for the basic features which include calling, phone book, text messages, calculator, alarm system, mono-phonic or polyphonic ring tones. Avoid advanced features like mp3 player, camera, Bluetooth, and internet services.

Research: Before buying the cell must do a lot of research on the prices for the particular brand of cell phone. There are various sites on the internet that sell mobile phones at different prices. You can a do comparison as it is possible that you might get the same model from another seller at much lower price.

Special Deals: There are many special deals which are available in the sellers. Cheap mobile phones are available with pre-paid plans where the phone can be used with one service provider only. Such deals are ideal for users who do not want to pay a large sum for a mobile phone.

Discounted Rates: You can also search for mobile phones on discounted prices as in holiday seasons many manufacturers offer mobile phones at low prices. If you are buying more than one phone, then also many online stores offer a discount on the total price

Puremobile.com offers a wide selection of low end phones that fit in to your budget.  If you have a price range you can use our phone finder located on the left hand side of the webpage or call one of our representatives.

  • Puremobile's New Contest
Posted on January 23, 2009 by Pure Mobile

It's Friday again and this time we want to announce a new on-going "contest" we are having here at puremobile.  We want to make the Friday post user generated.  We want you, the Puremobile customers to give us your reviews.  Every Friday we will choose one  review submission to post to our website and at the end of each month we will draw a name from the postings and give away a phone or accessory.

    So the rules are simple.

    - You will email adam@puremobile.com with your reviews and with the subject Weekly Review Contest.

    - The phone has to be a phone that you are currently using.

    - It has to be a current phone. What we mean is that it can't be a cell that you bought several years ago and can't be bought anywhere

    - The phone has to be available for purchase on our website.  The phone has to be either available or instock on our site

    - The posting should be detailed and 500 words minimum.  It should give your experiences both good and bad with the phone.  Anything you think you would want to know before buying it should be there.

    - Use spell check.  We will not consider posts that are not properly edited

Remember you are posting so other readers can get a genuine opinion of it.  We want our customers to know all the ins and outs of what they are going to buy and who better to learn this from then other users and site visitors  If there is an thing about your phone that makes it the best phone, we want to know.  If there is something bad it tell us.  We won't edit or omit a posting because it speaks negatively about a phone.

Below is our first post from a vistor named Pilar

Sony Ericsson C905: it’s all about the picture CRAZE!

C905 Cyber-shot is like having a Sony’s Cybershot camera in the automatic mode.  It is the perfect phone to take pictures of anything, anywhere.   Finally we are talking about photo quality with its 8.1 megapixel camera, autofocus, digital image stabilizer etc. It can even detect faces and has a Xenon Flash! With Sony Ericsson C905 there is no need for a camera… it has all the basics for a good picture and light videos.  Plus it has a built-in GPS receiver which geotags your phone’s photos automatically.  You can also handle and share your pictures, as well as video blog directly from your phone with its Sony Ericsson's BestPic and Smart Contrast support.

It is a perfect dual mix of phone and camera in that is impressively pocket friendly.  I was very surprised of how of how small and practical this phone can be considering it has a Cybershot 8.1 camera with all the features mentioned before. Obviously is a bit bigger and thicker than other Sony Ericsson phones, but this is a camera at the same time, therefore the size has to be slim and small but not too slim and not too  small because then it becomes difficult to handle it as a camera!

Mobile phones have become an important part of our lives. Phones do much more than just making and receiving calls as one can browse internet, send and receive mails, capture pictures, and videos, listen to music, etc. You can also add a personal touch to your phone by personalizing it.

Personalizing a mobile phone is an excellent way through which you can flaunt your personality and style. You can pass on your style to a handset and customize it accordingly. Nowadays a large number of options are available for customizing mobile phones. Here are a few ways that can help you to customize your mobile phone.

By changing ring tones: You can personalize your handset by applying different ring tones in it. There are three types of ring tones available monophonic, polyphonic and real tones. While monophonic and polyphonic ring tones refer to single tone and multiple tones respectively the other one i.e. real tones refer to mp3 music tones. With mp3 tones you can listen to the favorite music of your choice whenever any one calls you. These mp3 tones can be easily downloaded from the internet.

By applying themes and wall papers:  Mobile themes and wallpapers are an interesting way through which you can change the look and feel of your mobile phone. You can select an appropriate theme/wall paper as per your likes. If you like cars, you can download wallpapers of cars. If you are into sports, then you can have a picture of your favorite star as wallpaper and so on. A wide range of themes and wallpapers can simply be downloaded from the internet.

By using different phone accessories: You can make your cell phone look more stylish and trendy by using different mobile accessories. Some of the accessories that can add to your mobile phones appearance include mobile skins, headsets, and cases. You can look for different colors and styles online or you can visit the nearest phone store. Another great ways through which you can make your cell phones look chic and fashionable are mobile charms.

  • The new watch phone by LG
Posted on January 15, 2009 by Pure Mobile

Another year another Consumer Electronics Show.  CES 2009 had a lot of new goodies that are expected to be out this year.  There wasn't anything stuning on the mobile front except for a few things.  One items that comes to mind is the new LG watch phone or the LG GD910

Now we've seen watch phones before with ones like the Hyundai W100 and although it was good it never really took off.  They seem to be still very new in the market and haven't really caught on.

LG, though, is looking to change that.  With the new LG GD910.  Many specs don't seem to be available but from images shown on sites like Engadget it does seem like the watch will be very functional and not bulky.  That was a downside to the W100 it was rather large on the wrist.  Other features are Bluetooth, speakerphone, video calling, music player 3G and even a touchscreen to make it easier to use.

Now production isn't slated to start until later this year which means that we will not likely see it hit the market until the end of the year or even early next year, but it is definitely something to watch out for.

  • The "Great" Exodus
Posted on December 22, 2008 by Pure Mobile

Friday again and it's on week until Christmas.  It's coming to that time of the year where people are starting to call loved ones and spending more time on the phone and it turns out that more people are turning toward cell phone only lives.  That means less people are getting home phone lines and opting for the cell phone as their only phone.

On a recent article on discovery.com they said

...The portion of homes with cell phones but no landlines has grown to 18 percent, led by adults living with unrelated roommates, renters and young people, according to federal figures released Wednesday.

An additional 13 percent of households have landlines but get all or nearly all calls on their cells, the survey showed. Taken together, that means about three in 10 households are essentially reachable only on their wireless phones.

That is not very surprising as more and more people are finding that being always available is very convenient

Another article from Howstuffworks.com explain the reasons for the switch

...People who have made the switch cite several benefits. Wireless communication saves money on local and long-distance phone charges, frees people up from their desks and prevents having to lay new cables. Laymen Global, the New Jersey company, saved $4,600 on its phone bill by forgoing landlines

Now this isn't saying go out and cancel your home line but it is something to think about.  With more and more people wanting to be always available or less people spending time at the house it is a nice option.  You no longer have to remember phone numbers as you always have your phone book with you.  If you haven't considered it you can always go to puremobile.com and see what phones are available.

  • Where Cell Phones Are Going
Posted on December 16, 2008 by Pure Mobile

This year has seen some major leaps forward in the mobile handheld industry.

In a recent article by PCMag this is exactly what they discussed

...[j]ust two years ago, the mobile phone market was pretty ho-hum. You had your candy bar phones and your flip phones. There were BlackBerry devices and Windows Mobile phones. Those phones had calendars and contact lists, and a few other apps that were too annoying to use. Few people ever added any new applications to their phones. Surfing the Web was for emergency use only, since it was slow and ugly.

Fast forward to this year. You've got the must-have iPhone. For open source fans, there's the Android phone. The idea of shopping for, buying and downloading new apps isn't remotely unusual. Browsing online means seeing Web sites that look just like they do on a computer.

It's the ultimate dream of the mobile phone industry, but it wasn't created by the mobile phone industry -- the dream was actualized by outsiders. The result is that today, the traditional phone makers are playing catch-up and some are in such a struggle to do so that their future existence is uncertain.

What it means is that since the Apple iPhone was released in July of 2007 the cell phone industry hasn't been the same.  We've gone from regular old phones like the Motorola Razr that really had one function to phones like the upcoming Nokia N97, which does just about everything your heart could desire.

More and more people are expecting more from their phones.

...Avi Greengart, analyst at Current Analysis, sees a fundamental shift in the mobile industry that has only just begun. "We've gone from an era of hardware design where all you needed was something pretty to an era of software design where people expect to do more with their phones," said Greengart.

People still care about the look of the phone.  The "pretty" factor still exists, but not as much as before.  People want a good looking phone that does what they want.  People are no longer happy with being able to have their phone sound an alarm in the morning to wake them up.  They want to be able to go on Facebook, send email, play games, and sync to their computers.

What does the future hold for cell phones we can only wait and see.  If it continues to progress as it is now there is no telling what we can expect.
