It was recently announced that Android 2.2 was soon going to make its way to these phones.  A memo confirming the deployment of the new Android update was released to TmoNews stating that the myTouch 3G, myTouch Slide and DROID would be able to avail of the latest Google releases. While there have still not been any confirmations as to when such releases would be made available for the mobiles, you can easily expect them in the near future.

With the introduction of Motorola Backflip  Unlocked Android 2.2, users can look forward to various updates such as the modified version of the Faves gallery. It will now become possible to automatically get updates from your 20 most recent contacts. This effectively implies that you do not have to sift through less important calls in order to find what you want.

There is also an improved Genius Button application, which is similar to the Genius Button of the Slide. It can show you traffic mapping, your next appointment as well as give you directions
