  • It is easy to see why Microsoft would like to put an end to the sale of Motorola Android devices. They racially opened a case in front of the United States international Trade Commission on Monday, asking that they block Motorola mobility from selling a number of different devices including the Droid 2, unlocked Motorola Droid X and CliqXT. The company said that they were looking to protect the property that they have, and as a result we’re going to have to ask them not to sell these phones. When the company was purchased by Google earlier in the month, a lot of heads were turned in the process. It is definitely something that has changed the shape of the mobile industry in less than a few weeks and is going to continue to affect the quite some time to come.

Microsoft Looks to End Motorola Android Devices

    Motorola Droid X

A spokesman for the company said that the Motorola mobility is looking to vigorously defend itself against a strategy that Microsoft has employed that they claim is more in the interests of patent blocking than anything else. Many also claimed that Google purchased the company in order to garner a number of patents, and were not all that interested in the company on its own.

It will be interesting to see how this turns out, as this move could drastically affect both companies moving into the future. If they win the case and allow them to not have to sell their Android devices such as Motorola XT860 unlocked, Xoom Tablet, etc., it could be a huge step in the wrong direction for Google Earth this would also be a huge step in the right direction for Microsoft. To say the least, the companies coming into this fight could tie them up for quite some time. Do not expect a quick decision on the subject.

  • Although for quite some time it did look like the iPad 3 would be launching toward the end of 2011, it now appears as if the device will actually be launching in the early part of 2012. The good news for consumers is that the device will now launch complete with the retina display that has been so popular on the unlocked iPhone 4 that the company has released. A number of reports from multiple sources have claimed that the third generation of the popular Apple iPad was looking at a fall or winter 2011 launch, but it now appears as if those rumors were halted because of manufacturing issues that have to do with the highly popular retina display. Apple has reportedly been having a number of issues with their manufacturers to get things running in a smooth and suitable fashion."iPad 3 with Retina Display"

The problem came when they went to manufacture the iPad three 2048 x 1536 pixel display that was one of the selling points for the device. They were unable to manufacture the screen quickly enough for the device, and as a result Apple is forced to halt their operations and launch at a later date. It has been customary for the company to launch their devices during the spring, but it now looks as if we are looking at an early release next year perhaps before the spring during the later part of the winter."iPad 3"

It will be interesting to see how quickly they are able to launch the device in 2012. Apple is not a company that likes to fall behind their release schedule, and all of the problems that they inhabit their manufacturing companies over the course of the last few years have to have been wearing on them. It is not currently clear which manufacturing companies the problem with most prominently, but expect that information to be leaked at some point in the near future.

  • Apple Sued By 27,000 over Privacy IssuesApple as a company has been sued by over 27,000 South Koreans who are concerned with privacy issues that the company has failed to deal with within the company. The 27,000 individuals sued the company pursuing the company because their collective private location data, as was reported by numerous media sources yesterday. The group is looking for a total of 1 million won per person. That comes to a total of just about $25 million total, after the Korean Communications Commission fined Apple a total of $2829.

The fine came after the Location gate scandal that happened earlier in the year. This scandal included Apple tracking the location of everyone who used their devices and having it stored in their databases. It was a big deal at the time, and Apple likely probably thought they were out from under all of the scrutiny, but it looks as though there are still some that are upset with the privacy issues that they experienced.

Apple as a company has to buy its claims that there location tracking issue was the result of a bug, and was not done purposely by the company. They were able to fix the bug in the software update, and that put an end to all of location tracking issues that many users were having. However, by that time all of the damage had already been done in the locations of all of their different users had already been tracked by the company. It will be interesting to see if they are able to win a lawsuit as the only previous payout that the company may was a nine hour and $45 payout to a Korean lawyer named Kim Hyung-Suk following the scandal. The device has been one that had had a problem worldwide, and this is one of the first lawsuits that come through the pipeline.
