Moshi for iPad
  • iOS 5 To Debut New FeatursThe newest version of iOS, iOS 5 will bring a number of very interesting updates to the software that will ease the headaches and complaints that some users have had with the software in the past. Apple made the announcement at the WWDC 2011 conference. The announcement came from Scott Forstall, who stated that the more than 200 million iOS devices that Apple currently has across the world make it the number one operating system for mobile devices across the world, with a total of more than 44% of the total smart device market.

They have sold more than 25 million copies of the iPad over the course of the last 14 months in all, which just shows exactly how much demand there is out their for their devices. First of all, one of the biggest updates that users will find is the new “notification Center” which will allow them to receive all of their messages just by swiping a finger down the screen from the very top to the bottom. This is great because it will allow them to receive more notifications without having to be interrupted regularly, which is why Apple did not make quicker moves to bring more heavy notification features.

Also, they will be integrating twitter directly into the iOS. This will allow users who use the camera and gallery to update their Twitter directly from the apps, which is huge for users that have had to clunkily move around the interface in order to post these messages on Twitter. Other popular new features include the ability to wirelessly sync your device without first having to connect to a computer. They will also be bringing their long rumored Instant messaging platform, i Message to the forefront which will allow for users on unlocked iPhone 4, iPad and iPod devices and will allow for them to sent text messages, photos, or even videos to one another in the same way that BlackBerry Messenger works.

  • There has been a lot of talk as of late about Nokia potentially being acquired by Microsoft. The rumors have stated that because of a recent deal between Nokia and Microsoft that will bring several devices to Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform such as unlocked Dell venue pro, LG C900, etc.. that we can soon here expect to see the companies perhaps merging, which would fall in line with what Microsoft is trying to do. A number of moves that Nokia has made in recent months seemed to support that fact, but taking a closer look we can now see that it doesn’t exactly look like the rumors are true, although you can never really trust what a CEO says in regards to huge rumors such as this one because would they really want to tell you the truth anyway?

The CEO of Nokia, Stephen Elop said on Wednesday that the reports that the company had agreed to sell the cell phone part of their business to Microsoft for $19 billion is not true. There were a number of well known media outlets that reported the rumor, which has been vehemently denied by the company. The news first came from industry insider Eldar Murtazin, who seems to be behind all of the biggest rumors - some of which have turned out to be true.

“There’s no basis for them,” said the CEO Elop when he was asked about the rumors. It was clear that he was looking to clear the air. While he claims that the rumors are not true that may just simply mean that a deal has not been done at this time. It will definitely be interesting to see if anything about this comes out in the near future, but as of right now it looks like there is no real deal in the works. He went on to say that Nokia has never even discussed a potential acquisition and said that he does not understand where the rumors were coming from.

  • New Sharp Android Phone Leaks
Posted on June 6, 2011 by Pure Mobile

A new Sharp Android phone has made its way online, and some of the details are suggesting that the phone could be the next version of the popular Sidekick. Judging by the pictures that have leaked online, it definitely looks as if it could be the next version of the Sidekick, although there is no definitive information suggesting that it is the Sidekick at this time. The reason that many people are doubting whether or not the device is the new Sidekick is because the T-Mobile Sidekick 4G was recently released and has been quite popular for the company that was recently acquired by AT&T.

    T-Mobile Sidekick 4G

The phone in the pictures shows a slide up screen in the same way that the Sidekick as used its screen for the last few years. The device will reportedly have a 3.2 inch display and will also have GPS and a HVGA resolution. Everything seems to be falling in line for the phone to be the next Sidekick, but do not expect the company to announce it any time soon.

It would not be surprising to see the next Sidekick be on Android such as Unlocked LG GW620 Eve, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc etc.., as they are looking to re-enter the US market in a big way. The device will hopefully have some beefed up hardware that will allow the phone to be used with some more popular apps and games.

Do not expect the company to comment on this story at this time. The picture that leaked is probably of a prototype and could be of a completely different phone, even if everything that can be told so far points to the phone being the next Sidekick. At this time it is not completely clear where the picture first surfaced from, which will further add to the speculation that the phone might actually be a prototype.

  • Have you ever wanted to mimic the way that the Bond characters drink in the movies? No matter what kind of crazy situation they seem to be getting into , the Bond character is always drinking an assortment of different drinks that would probably really mess the average person up. Somehow,t hey seem able to still leap from buildings, fight evil and get the girl at the end of each movie. Now, a new app, titled Bond Mixology will allow you to copy the exact drinks that the Bond characters had in each of the different Bond movies on your unlocked cell phone such as unlocked BlackBerry Bold 9780 3G.

The app allows you to select your bond movie, and then shows you which drinks, and at what point in the movie in drink is had, and then also provides the context in which Bond had the drink. Of course, you probably do not want to drink as much as the Bond character does in the movies because sometimes in the movies the drinks are supposed to be spaced out over a very long period of time.

For instance, the movie “Casino Royale” that stars Daniel Craig as bond, he has his first drink at 32 minutes into the movie, and then has another glass of champagne at the 37 minute mark, followed by a bourbon at the 58 minute mark, and a red wine at the 59 minute mark. This would definitely send anyone on their backside and would make for a terrible morning. At the very least, the app is a nifty one that allows you to experience the same type of drunk that Bond supposedly has throughout the movies. Remember, the app is a novelty and you should never over do it just because the app tells you to do so.  The app will probably be a popular one among the college crowd.

However, it appears that they are starting to address at least some of the bigger issues as the company has new released a new beta build for their Facebook app for BlackBerry devices such as unlocked Bold 9780, Torch 9800, etc... This is something that people have been waiting for for quite some time, and should address some of the larger issues that have been a problem thus far. The huge overhaul of the current app has been going on since the middle of March but this is the first time that the app is available for beta testing by the users.

New Facebook App For BlackBerry Devices

The update to version 2 will bring a number of different updates including the ability to use your Wi-Fi connection in conjunction with the app as well as giving the users the ability to receive push notifications from the app while they are connected to a Wi-Fi network.

New Facebook App For BlackBerry DevicesSome of the more common bugs that have been reported with the app include freezing, an inability for users to be able to navigate seamlessly from one screen to another depending on the screen and the chat feature not working up to par with how many users feel that it should. Hopefully this update will be able to add new features as well as addressing some of the previous problems that many users have had with the app thus far. This is definitely good news for users of the BlackBerry app, which is a platform that has had the most problems with the Facebook app so far.

  • XPERIA Play and HDMI Output
Posted on June 3, 2011 by Pure Mobile

One thing that many have wondered is whether or not the XPERIA play has an HDMI output, which would really make the device as a whole much more valuable to users considering the device is meant to play games and many users would like to be able to play games on their television sets if they so choose to. The unlocked XPERIA Play is a device that has been highly touted by does lack a few features that many find themselves yearning for. Sony should have released the device with an HDMI adapter for the mini-USB input, but they have not done that at this time. Most users would like to be able to see the beautiful HD gaming graphics on their HDTV, but apparently that might be a feature that most will have to wait for the next version of the device before receiving it.

    XPERIA Play and HDMI Output

However, a new developer version of the phone that looks as though it will be making its debut at e3 next week has given some users quite a bit of hope. The device features a new port on the left side of the device. The area of the phone was previously just a place where the chrome face of the phone was, but now it looks like they might be prepping the phone for an apparent addition of an HDMI output, which would answer the requests of many of their users.

XPERIA Play and HDMI OutputIt will be interesting to see what they have to say at E3 tomorrow. The XPERIA Play unlocked is a device that has received a lot of attention as the first PlayStation branded mobile device with its own dedicated game marketplace, and it looks like Sony is dedicated to fleshing the idea out despite sales that have disappointed many in the early months following the release of the device. However, Sony has remained committed to providing an excellent upgrade with each release of the device.

  • Samsung Ramps up Apple Patent DisputeSamsung looks as though they are not scared of Apple in the recent Apple patent dispute that has made headlines as of late. They did not take a break during the Memorial day weekend, and instead have ramped things up. First, Apple asked Samsung to hand over some of their upcoming products to Apple to ensure that patents were not being infringed upon and then they asked the judge that Apple be forced to do the same thing. This means that Samsung has gotten a look at the upcoming version of the Apple unlocked iPhone 4 and other products that Apple has coming forward.

Samsung has asked that they be allowed to get a look at the iPad 3 and also the iPhone 5. With the iPad 2 just having been released a short time ago, the company has not even started discussing the iPad 3 in public, so this move comes as a bit of a surprise. It will definitely be interesting to see how the Judge responds to the requests.

Samsung Ramps up Apple Patent Dispute

The problem initially started when the iPad and unlocked Galaxy devices looked very similar, which drew quite a bit of criticism and eventually led to a patent infringement suit. So far things seem to have gone Apple’s way but it looks as though Samsung is fighting back by getting a look at some of their most important upcoming devices. The war has waged on and has continued to progress since they first went to court.

Apple rejected the initial request, which most expected them to do but now it will come down to the decision that was made by the judge. He will get the final say in whether or not they get a look at the future devices. Apple has claimed that their future devices hold “no relevance” to the issue that is at hand.

  • iPhone App “The Heist”
Posted on June 2, 2011 by Pure Mobile

iPhone App “The Heist”For users that have been a Mac user for quite some time, you have probably heard of a program called the MacHeist, which allows users to bundle programs together for a very low price. The Heist, an unlocked iPhone 4 app has been confused for Macheist but is a different beast entirely. The Heist is a unique puzzle game that is very in depth and can be very addictive. The app allows users to navigate through four different types of puzzles over the course of sixty levels on their way to beating the game, with future versions of the app looking like they could be on the horizon as well. The four different puzzle types all have different themes, which is part of the reason why the game has been so highly sought after. You would think that puzzle games had lost their appeal but it appears as if they are more popular than they have ever been.

There is also a prize to any user that is somehow able to complete every level of the popular and challenging game. This has not been at this time, but you can expect someone to eventually break through all 60 levels to claim their price.

    iPhone App “The Heist”

The game has been released by the popular game development company called TapTapTap that has released a number of other popular apps. One of their most recent apps that they released is the Camera+ iPhone 4 unlocked app, which is currently available for just $0.99 through the App Store. As of right now the app is the number one paid app overall, which is quite an impressive feat considering how popular some games like Angry Birds have become in the app store. TapTapTap is a company that prides themselves on the quality of the apps that they offer and will likely continue to release highly popular apps moving forward.

  • Will It Rain App
Posted on June 2, 2011 by Pure Mobile

Will It Rain AppHave you ever been outside, looked up at the sky and wondered if it was going to rain? Sometimes the clouds will not give you a clear picture, and this can be especially bad if you are going to be outside for an extended period of time. Now there is an app for unlocked iphone 4 that will allow you to see if it is going to rain every single day of your life, which is exactly what the app was intended for. In most circumstances, knowing if it is going to rain could help you with your commute, could help you to enjoy your weekend more, and will give you a good idea about what things you will be able to do throughout the day.

The WillItRain app has a very basic interface. When you open up the app, it will simply tell you whether or not it is going to rain in one simple word - Yes or No. When the answer is yes, you will then be able to click further to receive some additional information. It will then be able to tell you what times of the day that rain is most likely, or whether or not it is going to be raining throughout the day. This will be great as you are looking for clothes to wear for the day.

    Will It Rain App

You will also be able to look at information including the temperature, wind, the current levels of precipitation that have been seen thus far and other weather related information from your iphone 4 unlocked. It is clear that they wanted to keep the interface for the app as simple as possible and did not want to force too much information onto at one time. You will still have access to the information through the app, but you will not be forced to see anything except whether or not it will be raining on the day that you open the app. It is not an original idea, but it is a basic one that should help people to see what the day will be like as soon as they are up in the morning.

  • Apple Releases Details of iCloud Music ServiceThe iCloud music service for unlocked iphone 4, ipad and other iOS devices is one that Apple has been talking about for quite some time, but has not released a great amount of details about thus far. Their new cloud based music service will get its first debut at the Worldwide Developer Conference, which will be taking place in San Francisco sometime next month. There are a number of other products that have been introduced that are similar as of late, including one by Amazon as well. Apple will likely have a number of deals in place with some of the largest record labels in the music industry.

A number of sources have claimed to have inside information stating that Apple has been in talks with record labels regarding their iCloud music service for quite some time, which would echo the sentiments and estimations by many in the industry. There has been no information about which record labels they might be talking to but with the success of iTunes you can bet that the labels would be eager to work with the company at the drop of a hat.

Apple Releases Details of iCloud Music Service

Users will be able to stream music over the cloud directly through any personal computer, iPhone 4 unlocked, iPad, or iPod, which should help users to access music from virtually anywhere in the world. This will also allow them to create playlists, which will come in handy when they are in their car and in other areas where they are listening the music.

The appeal of the service might be limited because of the amount of storage capacity that Apple already has on their devices, but that does not mean that they will not be able to find a large user base. This will certainly be an interesting service offered by Apple, but might be one to find the footing that they hope that it will.
