  • iPad 2 Will Have Different Case
Posted on December 31, 2010 by Pure Mobile

As per one of the leading unlocked cell phone blog site, although Apple is not typically known for varying their devices too much from one design to another to keep some continuity, It appears that they will be making a number of changes to the second version of the highly popular iPad. A source in China has stated that the company is already working on the second generation of the iPad and that the case will have a new design compared to the first model. The new case will be just a bit smaller and will measure 239 mm x 186 mm, which is a bit smaller than Apple’s current case which is just a few millimeters larger.

Although there is no way to verify this story, the fact that it was released with such exact stats would lead most to believe that it is probably true. The first generation of the iPad has been highly successful, paving the way for other tablet devices that are looking to enter a market that is getting more competitive by the day.

The iPad 2 will also have wide range speakers, according to the report. Apple has been quick to jump on an upgrade for their first tablet device. This is probably because the company has seen the onslaught of incoming competition with advanced features, and are looking to ensure that they are able to retain their current market share.

It will be interesting to see what changes about the device in the iPad 2. The first version was highly successful and changed the mobile industry forever with a simple announcement. The second version will hopefully be a huge upgrade over the first version in the same way that the unlocked iPhone 4 received a sizable update on its second release. The tablet marketplace has proven to be large enough to be considered a subsidiary to the mobile market in itself.

  • With nearly the entire world starting to pick up on the smart phone trend, it is a bit of a surprise that it has taken this long for the largest of companies to get serious about the implementation of security measures, especially with the rising prevalence of identity theft in an online data-rich world. Verizon recently announced that they were working with Lookout, a company that is known for their apps that use geolocation features for BlackBerry, Android and LG C900 unlocked Windows Phone 7 Devices. Verizon has phones that use all of the mentioned operating systems, and their deal with the small security company should help to ensure that no large leaks take place in the future.

In addition to the changes that Verizon is making, RIM announced that they would be releasing their new product, the “BlackBerry Protect,” which will lock and erase all of the data from a misplaced phone, as well as allow users to make wireless backups directly from their phone. This is needed especially since the Unlocked BlackBerry is a device that is mostly used for business situations, the data that could potentially be on one could be damaging in situations where it is stolen.

AT&T also has deals with McAfee and MobileIron on the table. They also recently announced that they would be opening a new security laboratory in New York City which would be charged with developing new security measures directly for the company in an effort to prevent malware, worms and other threats that have become so prevalent on PCs.

It is nice to see that these companies are taking the security of their users more serious. As things stand right now, far too little effort and investment has been put into the security of the users and this shift shows that companies are realizing exactly how much data they are trusted with on a monthly basis, and how important it is to some businesses.

  • Virgin will be releasing the popular “Project” magazine application for free to all of their unlocked cell phone users during the Christmas season. The application, which usually costs $2.99 will be available for download. The magazine, which Virgin has called a “revolutionary multimedia magazine” allows users to browse from one page to another through the application, opting to move away from the standard paper magazines that we traditionally read. The magazine comes complete with cover shots and all of the advertisements and full page photos that you would expect from a regular magazine.

The information in the app is updated on a daily basis. They focus their journalism efforts on international culture, design, and entertainment. In one recent cover of the magazine, Jeff Bridges is pictured in a story about his upcoming “Tron” movie.

The magazine has quickly increased in popularity in recent years and has continually attempted to change the way that magazine reading is viewed. They focus on providing smart, readable articles that deliver the information to the reader in an interesting way. Many of the pieces in the magazine have a slight-opinionated feel to them, which only adds to the fact that it is more entertaining to read, because you feel strongly about most of the editorial pieces.

This is a deal that you ca not miss if you are looking for solid information on international topics that are encompassed by culture, entertainment and travel. As Project continues to grow in size, you can bet that they will not have a deal this good again any time soon, so its best that you take advantage of it when you have the opportunity.

  • Android Market Adds AT&T Billing App
Posted on December 28, 2010 by Pure Mobile

Google has announced that they will be releasing a new feature for their marketplace along with a number of applications. As of now, the AT&T Direct Carrier Billing application is now available to AT&T customers that are using some of the multiple Android devices such has HTC Desire, Samsung Captivate i897 unlocked on their network. The service would let users use their accounts, and connect them with their AT&T billing accounts to allow them to more easily pay their mobile bills.

App purchases now can be billed to their provider accounts, allowing them to pay their app bills in bulk at the end of the month. This benefits both the user and the company because it allows users to run up larger tabs on apps when they do not realize what they have spent, but also allows the users to take care of their app payments in bulk, one time at the end of the month. This is a service that has become increasingly common over the course of the last few months, and the AT&T implementation is something that has been rumored for a very long time.

The app was made available to T-Mobile subscribers earlier in the month. Google will likely explore similar opportunities in the near future because this sort of subscription service will definitely increase app sales on mobile devices. Allowing users to not see the damages until the end of the month, or at least delay their payments on a credit-style system and including them in with their provider bills will make the payment process easier but will also make it easier for them to overspend.

It will be interesting to see how well the customers respond to a move like this. It is a drastic change in the way that business is done in the mobile space and will take some getting used to on the user end of the spectrum.

  • The Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant was a phone that was touted by many as the next potential competitor for the iPhone. Although many doubted that the phone would reach the level that it has, the 9.3 million mark that was announced today places the phone among some very elite competition.

The company first announced in October that they had sold more than 7 million units of the phone across the globe. They also predicted that the fun would sell more than 10 million by the new year, which seems to be a mark that they are going to miss, but needless to say, the numbers that they have reached are still very impressive.

The Galaxy S is by far the most successful phone that Samsung has placed on the market. The fact that they are going to fall below their original projections shows that perhaps the sales of slowed, but the overall number is high enough to earn the applause of anyone who follows the mobile industry.

The phone is the most popular Android device in the world, making it the only real legitimate iPhone competitor. Although the iPhone 4 unlocked has sold substantially more, the Galaxy S is Android’s shining star, rising above the expectations and showing that Samsung can create a phone that can compete with the best on the market.

This is also a victory for Google, who has been investing heavily in Samsung devices in recent years. Their decision to go with the Galaxy S paid off in the long run, and the phone has grown to be the most impressive of the Android offerings. When it was originally released, many complained that it looked too much like an iPhone, but those complaints have dissipated as the usability of the phone has won users over.

  • With CES just on the horizon, a lot of announcements are coming down the pipeline that could change the face of the cell phone industry. One recent rumor is that Microsoft will be announcing an upcoming ARM compatible version of their OS Windows Phone 7 like LG C900 unlocked. The Consumer Electronics show is a hotbed for all of the newest technology, and is the perfect place for Microsoft to make an announcement as large as this one. The new OS will run on ARM CPU architecture, and will be created to run on devices that have batteries including on netbooks and upcoming tablet devices.

This is a huge move and shows that Microsoft themselves are looking to break into the tablet industry, where Apple has already entered and more companies are following suit. Instead of waiting to jump in head first as they did with mobile, Microsoft is attacking at the source. With only a few weeks between them and their originally release of the Windows Phone 7 Operating System.

Some have speculated that this announcement could be the Windows 8 release announcement that was rumored not too long ago. Although there has been no confirmation from Microsoft that they are working on a new version of Windows, this shows that they will probably have to develop some sort of technology that is specifically designed to run tablet applications, as they often function slightly differently than they do on normal smart devices.

With the success of the Apple unlocked iphone 4, most guessed that Microsoft would be quick to follow suit and enter that market for themselves. Now, instead of creating their own tablets, it looks like they will go back to their roots and what made them prosperous in the beginning; operating systems. Giving users the ability to easily navigate and use the utilities they provide is something that set Windows apart int he 90’s, and they are hoping that it will in the twenty-teens as well.

  • iPhone Realtor App Launched Today
Posted on December 24, 2010 by Pure Mobile

The REALTOR and unlocked iPhone 4 application is now on the marketplace and is available for download. The app, which was created by the Canadian Real Estate Association will allow you to look at all of the different properties in your area that are currently on the market. The app uses a GOS to show you the map, and pinpoints the locations of the homes or properties that are for sale.

The app also comes with a number of different features that realtors or those looking to purchase properties may find useful. The ability to contact the agent that is responsible for the sale of the property is something that is very important if you are looking to purchase a new home, and this app makes it as simple as a touch of the screen.

The app will be a popular one, especially with the economy the way that it is. The ability to stay up to date on all of the listings in the area that you are looking for is very useful. The Realtor.com  App also allows you to filter the results that you get on the properties, allowing you to only look for properties that are within your price range, square footage or number of bedrooms that you set.

The iphone 4 unlocked Realtor app will probably be duplicated by other smaller companies in the United States. An app that allows agents to add their listings to an application that can be searched any time of the day is something that would certainly help them to secure the sale of the home, so you would imagine that it would be supported both by buyers as well as those that are involved with the selling process. It will be interesting to see what other countries and areas adopt this idea and use it to help stimulate some sales in areas that have had a hard time during the recession.

  • The Tonino Lamborghini Evoluzione will be running on the Android operating system and will provide users with capabilities that were not in the previous version of the device. Although most in the industry consider the unlocked cell phone to be a tad bit overpriced, there is no denying the service that comes with the Evoluzione. The Lamborghini smart devices have been considered to be very high quality, and are more so for the crowd that is looking for a richer smart device experience.

The phone only comes with a 3.2 inch HVGA display, and runs on a 600 MHz processor which will make the device undeniably underpowered when compared to some of the other big brand names phones that have been released in recent weeks. the phone certainly does not live up to its automotive name, and does not provide what you would expect from something that has a Lamborghini brand name.

The phone will cost a total of $600, which is more than $700 reduced from the previous price. But even at $600, you are still paying a lot more for the brand name than you ever would the phone. It would be more worth the money if they were able to offer a little incentive to purchase the phone. For the price, you would expect a Lamborghini to have some sort of sleek design that would make it stand out from the crowd, but that is not the case here. The phone, by all accounts, other than the name of course is about as plain as they come. Although they will be marketed to those that own their cars, they will also be available for purchase for individuals that do not own a Lamborghini motor vehicle as well. Don’t expect this phone to gain much in the way of popularity; the price tag is simply too high.

  • The TimmyMe app will now work with the Unlocked BlackBerry Bold 9780, a device that had previously not been able to use the app. The app will allow you to find the closest Tim Hortons location in your area with just the click of a button. The restaurant has been popular in Canada for quite some time and for that reason the app has gained popularity in recent years as well. It is nice to see that they are increasing the capabilities of the app, and making it work with more devices. The app has received a lot of downloads, but has not been available for every device that runs on the BlackBerry software.

The app will also allow you to save orders through a  notepad. When it was first released, the app would only show you the nearest location to you, but was recently updated to allow you to take a look at the ten closest, so if you are heading somewhere nearby in the area you will always have a Tim Hortons within reach.

The app was also recently expanded to the iPhone 4 unlocked on operating systems, where it has also become immensely popular. The app will probably spawn many like it for different types of businesses because of its ease of use and its quick rise to popularity in the app marketplaces across various platforms.

Hopefully they will continue to expand on the number of devices that the app will work with. You would think that with the popularity of the app and all of the new business it could potentially generate, that they would want to continually add new devices. More updates are on the horizon for the application, and hopefully the upcoming features that they add will give you more options and look up locations in other areas.

  • RBC, a popular mobile banking provider announced the release their unlocked iPhone 4 app earlier in the day. It came as a bit of a surprise, then, when later in the day they also announced that they would be releasing a BlackBerry app as well. It was interesting that the announcements did not come at the same time, but nevertheless, the outcome in the same in the end.

The app appears to be quite useful, allowing you to check the balance of any of your accounts, transfer your funds from one account to another, pay any outstanding bills that you have, transfer money to other banks and even find the closest ATM to you.

The app has been released in both French and English. The total space that it takes up is 3 MB, and the phone is compatible with six different types of Unlocked BlackBerry devices. The company has made a demo available on their website for those of us that would like to try it out. They boast speed, safety and security in the long run.

As more banks continue to add applications for their users to manage their funds with, security has always been a big concern. RBC has stressed that they have gone to great lengths to ensure that they keep their users, and their money secure. All of the proper channels are in place to make sure that no one gains control of your account.

The company did not say in their announcement whether they were planning on releasing a version for other platforms as well. You would think that they would be interested in releasing something for Windows Phone 7 as it becomes more popular or even the Android platform, where a large number of their users probably reside. So far no substantial bugs have been reported with the RBC online mobile banking software.
