Company Description
Founded in 2001, i-mate has been a leader in the design, development and customization of Windows Mobile-powered GSM cell phones and smartphones. The first i-mate product, the i-mate Smartphone, was launched in May 2003.
Up until September 2006, i-mate sold versions of Pocket PCs and smartphones made by mobile handset giant HTC. When the partnership ended, the Taiwanese firm started selling its own HTC mobile phones in Europe. i-mate forged new partnerships with other manufacturers.
In late 2006, i-mate launched two new Windows Mobile Pocket PC phones, the i-mate JAQ3 and the i-mate PDAL. In an effort to appeal to a wider audience, these two i-mate smartphones deliver the benefits of Windows Mobile that complement i-mate’s range of value-added services and support.
